Ian, I wish you all the best of luck with this book. I vaguely remember there being rumors of her being gay but then she married Brown. It seemed an odd pairing at the time and I didn’t know her father was so involved in controlling her image. Such a sad and tragic story for both mother and daughter.

On another note, have you guys seen the latest pics of the traveling circus flying economy class to Nice? The “paps” seem to have followed them onto the plane. Didn’t know it was so easy for them to get through security. I wonder what this and all the “going broke” stories are all about. The MIR lawsuit or is there more we don’t know about?

she is trying to come across as “humble” because they think this will make her more “likeable” – these are her two big PR watch words right now. She said in an interview in the UK in response to a question about the mansion tax that “she was always very careful with money” or words to that effect. She is priceless!

I don’t disagree with you. But they are both in on it. Honestly, when was the last time the paparazzi chased actors into the airport and onto an airplane in this age of heightened security? It’s so obvious they took the pics themselves (meaning their people) and sold them for cash that you would think some of these papers would comment on that. There have been a lot of strange stories in the tabs about these two…brad is bi, he’s a drunk and they are getting divorced because of it, they are going broke and will declare bankruptcy, they are selling homes they own all over the world, etc. Brad’s charity Make it Right charity has a class action lawsuit against it by the owners of the shoddy houses they built in New Orleans. I think there’s more to the “humble” act and just wondered what might be going on besides MIR that we don’t know. I do believe she is very careful with money though I don’t believe Pitt is.

Oh I don’t doubt the returns are “diminishing” as Ian stated some time ago. Let’s face it only about half of the kids have the cute factor these days, there really isn’t that much bank to be made out of awkward teenagers. They are starting to look quite strange traipsing through these airports together like the family von trapp. Like how many 14 year old boys want to hang out with mom and dad and their six year old little brother and sister. Maddox and Pax look so over it like they so won’t be on board for these photo ops for much longer. But the point of this opp was purely just to try to spread the message that the j-p’s are so humble and relatable – yano the kind of people you might vote for to govern you rather than the previous “we are Hollywood royalty” and so superior to you look they were going for before. They’re just trying to re-position themselves as a ” family of the people” that’s all – ha ha!

And I wouldn’t agree she is careful with money I have to say – I think she has burned through it like there is no tomorrow. It’s just that she realises now she will never make as much cash as in the early heady days of Brangelina and she will now have to start cutting her cloth according to her job. It’s clear that she’s still got money from LV coming in though as she was doing some very obvious product placement here. I think endorsements was where they got a lot of their money from before but they aren’t as marketable as they once were hence the tightening of the belt!

It’s like they think they can just change their PR narrative every day, moving from being one thing one day to something that completely contradicts it another day without anyone questioning or even noticing it! It’s like one day they are so special, the most beautiful, talented, sophisticated, saintly, regal family in the world, the next they are soccer mom and dad on a budget flight to France – all without missing a beat! It’s like they want to cover literally every possible base in their PR in order to try to appeal to every market possible in order to gain world domination – and people lap it all up like it’s real – madness!

I don’t think as many people lap it up anymore. If they did these two wouldn’t be so desperate for approval. Getting papped on an economy flight from Paris to Nice is unbelievable. I put it right up there with the photo op with the Pope. Good grief, who does this stuff? She’s insane and he goes along with it all, what a whipped freak he is. Or maybe he’s nuts too.

I don’t know I think very few people actually have the time or inclination to critique what they put out there – I think most people just passively receive. ThAt budget flight story was picked up by Loose Women in the Uk (basically a budget version of The View). Mainstream media never question why they are putting the info out there or even consider that they are putting it deliberately out there to get a particular response – even the news programmes just put it out there straight – all totally blinded by the fading allure of their celebrity. It is like people are brainwashed.

IMO, they don’t truly own the Chateau. If they do, then they should be renting it out (or at least partially) during their extremely long absences. As for the economy flight (there was no first class), I’ve read that they probably had the plane to themselves along with their many staff members. They also sat in the front and had car service waiting for them. Those children were hauled on another unnecessary pap stroll through the airport and then while on the plane. Oh wait, the children were earning their keep by helping their parents pretend like they are just like the rest of us folks for an improved reputation! IMO, allowing your children to be papped for money is so wrong.

I thought I read somewhere (FF most likely) that the French government made him undo some renovations and restore the chateau back to its historical features. I do think they own it only because Patty Anne a few years ago brought over an article from somewhere that showed they purchased it in the name of a trust (German maybe?). I don’t recall the details as it was a long time ago. If PA still lurks here maybe she can find it and post it here. .Or maybe someone else will remember that. Maybe they make money on it by leasing the vineyards to the people who make the rose wine. I don’t know what’s true with them which is how they want it to be. Those photos on the plane were taken by one of their people and they sold them to DM and whoever else and pocketed the money. If they didn’t approve of the pictures the kids faces would not have been shown. I think this is how they make some of their money. I think they can still afford to fly private.

The public has to be very alert as to what is being fed to them by the media. But, are they? History teaches us, but most of us are not capable of learning. So many greats of the past have repeatedly warned us that freedom isn’t free. But we’re being satisfied with free everything. And meanwhile, evil forces keeps building their bases. The signs are everywhere, but we’re oblivious to them: Global warning; Invasion of free countries; ISIS; Corrupt politics, (more than ever!)’; Lax religious teaching/training; practically no teaching of morals by parents; Suppression of academic freedoms, and Worshiping of false idols. There is so much more; that one can sit and contemplate all day long.

The adopted children of Brangelina has at least one parent not participating in parenthood. All those lies, lies and more lies making the public view her as a saint. The public has no clue as to what constitutes sainthood. No clue!

My personal belief is that the media is Public Enemy No. 1. And this is why the public is not capable of distinguishing right from wrong. JMO!

I agree with you about the media. There are so few real investigative journalists anymore. Maybe because the television stations, newspapers and news magazines are owned by conglomerates who control what information is put out there. I don’t really know if this is the reason or if it’s something else but when you hear network news quoting tabloids then something clearly is very wrong.

    ITA!

As I read about the continued AJ self-aggrandizing trips for seemingly no grand results, I thought that, here in America, at least, we desperately need to assure women of rape-free environments. And we know that women are treated like “less than” in that environment we know as show business. Men and boys are also victims of sexual harassment.
So it’s fine to turn the spotlight of rape in third world countries, but why ignore what’s happening in our own backyard? Guess there’s no glory in doing so.

Parading her around the world proselytizing about war rape of women in other countries takes the focus off the pedophilia and sexual abuse problem in “civilized” society. It’s pervasive and not just in Hollywood. It was shocking to me to hear about Dennis Hastert molesting teenage boys. The man who we thought was a pillar of society (regardless of political views) is nothing more than a sexual predator. I believe there are more of them in positions of political power. Maybe that’s why they allow Hague to continue this charade with Jolie. It deflects from the pedophilia problem in the UK. How do you clean up a mess of this magnitude?

I’ll admit to not having an answer I have two friends who are highly educated. They asked me, separately, about Hastert. My interest in Republican politicians is basic, to be honest. I know the front-runners with more public exposure.
Did read that Jeb Bush had doings with the porn business.
Also, there is a single Republican who would “most probably” win this election. But….he is a closet case. So, he’s going back to not campaigning until he can find a wife, and hopefully sire a child, or more. Have no idea.
Rubio is being exposed almost daily, at Salon.com.
Cruz seemingly hoped to capitalize on his Hispanic surname. Wasn’t he born in Canada

My friend was a professor at a college. Very conservative in his politics. Surprise. Will ask him. He did mention Lindsey Graham as “being that way”.

It feeds her oversized ego if she can put the spotlight on herself. If she is so concerned about rape in the military, then why not begin here, with our own military. How about our college campuses? It is good to care about the world, but when you have the same issues at home, how can you tell others how to behave? Look at Mad’s t-shirt! It shows that she is not truly serious about the cause, since she can’t even educate her own under-age child.

I can’t remember what television show it was, but the female lead character really admired a woman who spoke out against child sex-slavery. Turns out, the admired woman was actually the head of the child sex-slave trafficing ring. I immediately thought of you know who and her antics.

    @WC Kitty:

I would think that addressing the issue of the use of rape as a weapon of war would also influence the crime of rape in general and everywhere including the US if the media covers it properly. The PSVI protocols and training developed and already being used in military training will also be implemented for US forces.

It is a specific issue and is focused on areas in the world where rape during war is practically an epidemic. Not sure why anyone can’t see the importance of it and so easily dismisses initiatives to curtail it. Does misogyny reign here?

I have no idea what you’re talking about. Jolie and Hague spent millions of dollars on the rape symposium and all it did was call attention to themselves. Hague is himself linked to some in the UK that are known pedophiles. In case you didn’t know pedophiles rape children and it has nothing to do with war. He’s a hypocrite and a fraud. She works in Hollywood in an industry where child actors are molested and raped by powerful Hollywood producers and moguls. Why doesn’t she talk about that problem instead of running around the world pretending to bring awareness to a problem that she couldn’t care less about it. If she really cared her trips wouldn’t be photo ops for the purpose of selling the pics to tabs. She’s a hypocrite and a fraud. But, hey, drink the jolie cool aid all you want. I’m not interested.

That’s typical male BS. So issues of primary importance to women aren’t deserving of a fraction of the money spent on male dominated issues? Again, I say BS!

A global summit with high ranking officials from over 100 nations is not a cheap enterprise no matter how you try to economize. Does anyone bitch and nitpick like this over other global summits?

This topic is worthy of being treated with respect and, yes, with money. To many around the world the fact that it was afforded a substantial summit helps send word that this issue IS important and you cannot put a price tag on what that is worth.
