Half of a Yellow Sun is an upcoming Nigerian drama film directed by Biyi Bandele and based on the novel of the same name. It has been selected to be screened in the Special Presentation section at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival.[1]

The plot of the book is at Wikipedia.

solipsistic exultation someone is detaching from reality? “Solipsism is the philosophical idea that only one’s own mind is sure to exist.” Half of the yellow sun… hmmmm.. Solus / one.

Lazy soap bubbles? Found this: (and what a beautiful painting it is!!)

Artist: Thomas Couture (French, 1815-1879) “Daydreams” Since the 16th century, a figure blowing bubbles has served as an allegory for the vice of vanity. A schoolboy slouches on a chair beside his unopened books as bubbles drift overhead. The note tucked in the broken glass reads: “Le Parasseux indigne de vivre” (the lazy one unworthy of living). The soap bubbles and the crumbling wall suggest the fleeting nature of time, and the laurel wreath symbolizes glory ignored.

Just a little something I noticed in the previous Sundress Zombie, Dirty Laundry post. The pictures have now changed and the tag is now JPs. Also, the pics are of AJs tats, the one in particular that is circled is the neck tattoo that says: Know Your Rights.

Because I know Ian is a Kurt Cobain “expert,” I figured the lyrics to Nirvanna’s You Know Your Right (as opposed to the Clash’s Know Your Rights) would be more appropriate.

ok…did some clue digging, but have not gotten to any determinations yet…have at it!…but someone sounds REALLY unhappy…

Ill-gotten fortune… money or other “fortune” obtained in an evil manner or by dishonest means

intractable fears… an adamant fear of something

half of a yellow sun… A drama that brings together the lives of four people during the struggle to establish an independent republic in Nigeria. Evocative novel of the promise, hope, and disappointment of the Biafran war.

moral framework… rules that establish the boundaries of generally accepted behavior

sexual algebra… There are two statements, and you must select an answer that makes both statements true.
    Statement 1: X is disgusting.
Statement 2: I would like to “do” X right now.
    …see previous clue…

    intricately structured…complex parts

strong chin gusto… a strong chin in boxing is not actually referring to your chin, but your neck muscles. When your opponent takes a jab at your face, you are said to have a good or strong chin if you can handle the punch without going down for the count. Being knocked out by such a blow is described as having no chin, also called a glass jar. Strengthening your neck muscles helps you get a stronger chin so you can hold your own in the ring. With gusto would emply that someone has a taste for having the strong chin.

essential amorality…moral blindness is a must

electrifying idiom…” Down To The Wire”? “Pull the plug”?…”like moths to a flame” anyone?

lazy soap bubbles… painting “daydreams”… since the 16th century, a figure blowing bubbles has served as an allegory for the vice of vanity. A schoolboy slouches on a chair beside his unopened books as bubbles drift overhead. The note tucked in the broken glass reads: “Le Parasseux indigne de vivre” (the lazy one unworthy of living). The soap bubbles and the crumbling wall suggest the fleeting nature of time, and the laurel wreath symbolizes glory ignored.

    sucio despondency… tainted dispair
solipsistic exultation… someone celebrates the belief that anything outside one’s own mind is unsure. The external world and other minds cannot be known, and might not exist outside the mind.

    the bottle of wine lyrics…
    Timing and its focus
It’s what ruins and it dopes us
Reality ain’t the same, if you don’t play the game
Cause I’m tired and it’s hopeless
I’m not beaten, but I’m broken
    Words I’ve never spoken
What do you say? what do you say?
I guess you can’t look up to me that way
I guess you can’t look up to me that way

Is it fire or is it smoke?
Or should we just go for broke
Here comes boredom and it’s useless
I think life should come all inclusive
At least a little less abusive
What do you say? what do you say?
I guess you can’t look up to me that way
I guess you can’t look up to me that way

The bottle of wine was fine this time
    And I really don’t think it’s changed
The bottle of wine was fine this time.
But oh, how I think you’ve changed

    Timing and its focus
It’s what ruins and it dopes us
Reality ain’t the same if you don’t play the game
Here comes boredom and it’s useless
I think life should come all inclusive
At least a little less abusive
What do you say what do you say
I guess you can’t look up to me that way
I guess you can’t look up to me that way

The bottle of wine was fine this time
    And I really don’t think it’s changed
The bottle of wine was fine this time.
But oh, how I think you’ve changed

the box of ice cream!!!! – ice cream is common word for crack…so….

Mmmmmm, COS picked on the wrong former member in Leah Remini. She’s filed a missing persons report with the police on Shelly Miscavige. This could be very interesting.

    @Patty Anne:
Case is already closed. LAPD confirmed today that Shelley Miscavige is not missing after all.

    EOnline article today:
Leah Remini begged to differ, but Shelly Miscavige is not missing, according to authorities.

Hours after news broke that the actress had filed a missing person report regarding the whereabouts of the wife of Scientology leader David Miscavige, the LAPD confirms to E! News that the case is now closed.

“The LAPD has classified the report as unfounded, indicating that Shelly is not missing,” said Detective Gus Villanueva.

A spokesperson for the Church of Scientology had called Remini’s police report “just harassment.”

“It is a publicity stunt cooked up by a small band of unemployed fanatics who live on the fringe of the Internet,” the rep said. “The Church and the attorney for Mrs. Miscavige have already responded to this ludicrous claim.”

Remini revealed about a month ago that she had left the church—reportedly due to concerns that included the wherabouts of Shelly after she did not accompany her husband to Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’ wedding in November 2006, according to Tony Ortega, who writes about Scientology on his website The Underground Bunker.

    PHOTOS: Celebrity selfies

Though Remini caught the ire of the church, former Scientologist Amy Scobee, who used to run the famed Celebrity Centre in Hollywood, applauded the actress’ move, calling it “fantastic.”

“I’ve been worried [about Shelly] for a long time,” Scobee told E! News Thursday, before the LAPD had confirmed that the case was closed. “I brought it up to the FBI in 2010, too.”

“I do think she’s alive,” she added. “I think she’s in a [Church of Spiritual Technology] somewhere…Everyone who knew her is just saying ‘produce her.’ What are you covering up? Why can’t you answer the questions?”

Good ideas from all. Glad you’ve got this going. Yesterday’s’ post made me wonder whether Ian was trying to point us to AJ on the dirty laundry post. Good catch Togi on the additional photos. Just to add that she got the tiger tat in Bangkok in July of ‘04. The Oaks Hotel is located in Thailand in addition to Australia, New Zealand and UAE. I’d say someone has the dirty laundry on both of them.

And I agree that someone is very unhappy. And fortune is probably not completely related to money. I’m think that this refers to her.

The golden gate bridge is a symbol of American enterprise and a gateway to thd Pacific. It is a reflection on the bubble. When you live in a bubble it is to live sheltered from the outside environment. I wonder if Ian chose this to represent perception versus reality.

I find it odd how a post (and not the most recent post, at that) changed after everyone moved on to another post. Well, the riddle didn’t change, but the review of the Dirty Laundry (or whatever) book disappeared, new pictures of AJ’s tattoos (with Know Your Rights circled) appearing, and the tag changing from Dirty Laundry (or whatever) to JPs. Not a coincidence, I am certain. But I can never figure out what HH is alluding to. Sigh.

I had not noticed the change in that post until you mentioned it so I looked. The trenchcoat pic and the review were there when I looked. What is interesting is that her pics were put in the middle of the clue and the book review. I wonder if that is supposed to mean she came between the two. You would think it would be easier to just post the new pics at the end of the post rather than the middle. So I think the positioning means something. The dirty laundry post made me think of him…he had a fling with the Korean actress (who at 29ish in age was the same age as AJ in ‘04 – not sure if that’s relevant to anything other than he likes younger women).

Meant to say that the tat pics come between the “activity” in the dirty laundry post and the subject matter in the book. Togi – an article in the Aug 2010 Vanity Fair says the “know your rights” tat comes from the Clash song. The poor have a right to safety, food and water etc… I wonder if the placement of the tat pics means she interfered w/a fling to secure her own rights or to squelch the dirty laundry if it was going to leak.

Back to this post…sexual algebra comes up with a link to caribplanet. Included is a formula for how to determine whether you are dating someone too young for you – your age ÷2 and add 7 – I would think this points to him.

When I type in sucio despondency it comes up with sucio as a dirty fellow, filthy , sinful, obscene, vulgar.

Try to pull up this book review. Mentions an idiom that is electrifying and audio.

My apologies that link doesn’t work either. I’m not at home. This Is How You Lose Her is a book by Junot Diaz. NY Times book review 9/20/12.

This series of posts leads me to: there’s quite a bit of dirty laundry,. Someone likes them young and enough to be a bit of a perv and this may not be a completely controllable situation to that person. Think that’s him. I’m guessing then that she’s put herself in the middle of it to secure her own situation. This is affecting the ability of the four people in the struggle for independence of their own “country” and, as sinker suggested, the difficulty may be in the essential amorality – the questionable fathering of children ( Cannes ‘08, prissy and pink ???!!!).

That link didn’t work either. This is Ian’s third clue in a week’s time – he’s trying hard to get some info to us. I kind of think that brad and the Korean actress makes sense. He likes them young and he looks happy lately. That must be some open relationship they’ve got. I can see why they don’t split, no need to. They’re both free to do what they want provided they are discreet about it, they’ve got the perfect cover with the kids and each other. Lots of dirty laundry there, I wonder when/if it will ever come out. We keep waiting……

I never got a chance to post on the “who would you rather be with” post because the one came so quickly on its heels. That post is pointing to AJ she’s the only one with a head shot – brimmed hat partially covering one eye. And Mae West and Michelle are the only two clothed. The others are all shirtless. If you click on each pic they’re labelled differently:

    JL: lpic1
    JC: lpicll
    AJ: lpicllll
    HB: lpiclllll
    BC: ipiciiiiii
    MW: ipiciiiiii
    RH: ipiciiiiiiii
    MP: ipiciiiiiiiii

Why the strange labelling? Must mean something because it would be easier to label lpic4. And what’ the significance of “l” versus “I”?

Was referring to the two couples. No there’s nothing about JA/JT in this post. Half a Yellow Sun is about the effects of war on the 4 characters. Just thinking that might refer to the four characters in this puzzle. They”re trying to walk away from their game and can’t because of peoples behaviors. Just guessing on all this. No 29 yes isn’t necessarily too young but a string of twenty-somethings starts to have a little bit of a perv feel as a middle age man continues to age. Hopefully this clue doesn’t mean underage!

OT but I just read that they shot and killed James DiMaggio. Hannah is safe, the sheriff said it didn’t appear she was being held against her will. What does that mean? Was she not kidnapped and went willingly with him? One of her girlfriends said she was creeped out by him but then she went with him to Disney for a week. Very strange story.

So jolie is photographed flying to London around the same time that jen is going to promote her movie. Then the tabloid story comes out that jen re-scheduled her flight because they were supposed to be on the same plane. I’m beginning to think that jolie purposely planned this trip to be there at the same time. Maybe she thought justin would go too and she could swoop in on him. I think she is obsessed with jen and would be happy if she could destroy her. No wonder the loons are always attacking jen, it all comes from jolie. jmo. She is a horrible woman. jmo.

The one that I felt so helpless about, and sorry I learned about her too late, is the actress who died in rehab. Lisa Robin Kelly was only 43. But she had had an extremely hard life before she died. Her former boyfriend had beaten her up for money, according to reports. Very sad!

Pathetic parenting skills seems to be all too common in our society; but in Hollywood, even more so. Too many cases in point. We already know about Brangelina, but one can name any number of out-of-control offspring.
There seems to be a scarcity of critics of modern hollywood. Bill O’Reilly is not my favorite, but I do agree with some of his criticism.

The followers of christianity seem to be awaiting some dreadful “housecleaning” in the near future. Others like myself, don’t want to contemplate any such thing. But right now, it seems to me that those who do evil things against their fellow human beings, are richly rewarded. And that’s why so many follow suit. And no karmic justice?

We were talking about such a thing in our circle. Someone mentioned that if someone from the not-too-distant past could come forward to our present time, they’d be shocked that sex tapes are used for career purposes, and that it is tolerated and approved. Other scenarios were discussed. One of them is that rich people are reported to be building underground dwellings and bunkers even now.

Oh well, it’s time to count the z,s.

Other sites/bloggers seem to agree that Oprah has been campaigning already; but it sorta backfired when she pointed the finger of racial accusations at a Swiss lady who had shown her handbags. OW had to backtrack a little, because people were calling it a ridiculous ploy to get sympathy, and thus, votes for an oscar nomination. Voters are wary of blatant campaigning.

Checked other sites for clues. The most popular guess was unfamiliar to me. Jenna Jameson, a porn actress; her s/o, whose name I already forgot; and Kate Perry.
A few guessed Angelina Jolie. But that was refuted by her fans. I thought it could be her, but I can’t see BP being assertive as was reported. Besides, the kids are mainly hers, aren’t they? She seems to be the dominant one in that partnership.
CZJ was also mentioned a few times. So was Demi M., and Halle B. All refuted.
Radar Online is pretty reliable, so they feel. So will there be a reveal?
But all agree, that whoever it is, is a very sad case, indeed.

I googled her and is she world famous, has won multiple pornographic industry awards, has young twin children and her mother died of cancer when she was two yrs old. Apparently her ex and father of the children was arrested for domestic violence when they were married. Truly a sad story, especially for the children.

I had to re-read the blind (I found it on FF) and it doesn’t say A-list actress, just world famous but it does say silver screen. I never thought of porn as silver screen but maybe in radaronline’s world it is. Jenna really does fit the description the best. I never knew so many people watch porn, lol. The blind must be exaggerated though because I can’t imagine that anyone who swallowed vicodin, xanax and ambien and followed it up with 8 bottles of champagne would live without being hospitalized. Geesh, what a waste of Dom Perignon.

  136. Capri said on August 20th, 2013 at 9:09 pm

I figured that silver screen in this case was silver = 25 years, I believe there were porn theaters in most large cities back then and some medium sized cities too. I remember back around that many years ago that there used to be a 2 or 3 screened drive-in about 15 miles outside a major multi franchised city that often had one screen playing porn. I remember friends parking on a back road and sneaking through the woods and climbing a tree to see over the fence to see what all the fuss was about. LOL

  137. rushdog said on August 21st, 2013 at 8:39 am

I’m assuming the 8-9 bottles of champagne was consumed over the days before when she wasn’t eating and not the hour or so when the assistant was out. I agree this seems to be JJ. She was a famous enough actress in her world to be known by many outside of it. I think she was the most searched person or had the most hits on her photos for a while. The existence of the tape seems to be the blind part of this and not the custody case. The other details fit what was reported in the media last spring. JJ and TO were talking about each other in the press so the gag order makes sense. Silver screen is an old term used to reference the cinema back when screens had silver in them. Different screens are used now. JJ is retired from filmmaking with her last film about six years ago so that may be why the term “silver screen” was used.

The way the blind was worded made it sound like she took the pills, then washed in down with the champagne. It’s hard to imagine anyone could drink 9 bottles of anything in an hour. It sounds like she was set up by the assistant and the drugging and drinking had been going on for a long time, not just in the hour she was gone. Sad story. There seem to be too many of these lately with the suicide of the disney actor.

+1 I’m with you. Something is wrong with that whole “picture”. I also found it odd that the father was so composed and he never had police backing him up during the press announcements he made. He almost acted like he was having his 15 min of fame. The family (themselves) had an event to raise money for the funerals….and now we find out that the grandmother is the beneficiary of DiMaggio’s life insurance policy? I get the feeling that the police are biding their time, waiting for them to slip up….or something.

8/22/13 Ian’s book, “Hollywood Undercover” to become a television show.

8/19/13 New book on Lindsay Lohan coming out “soon”.

I loved little Lindsay in the Disney studio’s Herbie movie. She was so natural, quite a good little actress, and simply fetching; now I wonder how the heck she has fallen so low – sex, drugs, alcohol and a wanna-be star-who-never-was mother, a loser father and a baby sister she cares very much for. It reminds me of the photos of Britney Spears sitting on a street curb, holding tightly to her little dog, crying her eyes out in distress while a horde of paps kept snapping away. So sad, so inhuman to treat them that way.@WR:

There have been a few clues that Ian’s put out over the past several years that seemed to suggest jen had a child or at least that’s how some of us interpreted the clues. It’s hard to imagine that she could have one and news of it didn’t get out but one never knows. It wouldn’t surprise me if jen is secretly married. My impression is that jen has to keep things private especially because of the crazy fans of brangie and jolie herself who I happen to think is crazy and vindictive and behind some of the attacks on jen. Just my opinion, of course.

Of course, the older couple is far more talented and their popularity was based on the quality of their work. The younger couple’s popularity is based on their (perceived) personal lives and not so much on the quality of their work. imo.

” the Newman’s kept their personal lives very private and they never used their relationship or their children to promote themselves and their projects.”

I realize some people are younger and most likely have no memories of that time but the Newmans did what lots of stars did and still do – they opened their homes to the media and posed for photo spreads for magazines. I know off the top of my head I remember pictures of Paul cooking in the kitchen with Joanne with other home pics early in their marriage. I also remember a photo spread of them and their children at home in Connecticut. I’m not sure why people like to make it seem like people who became famous in earlier decades didn’t participate in the typical Hollywood fame game. That’s how people got famous and popular. Male cheesecake photos were quite popular – even for Paul Newman. I think most stars accepted it as part of their career. it doesn’t necessarily diminish their work or them as people.

There are also stars who may not be in American magazines but are in British mags. I was surprised when I saw certain actors, etc., whom you never see in mags here in the U.S. appear in photo spreads showing off their families and homes in mags like Hello.

Why would anyone think that Jennifer Aniston would be able to have a child and hide that fact? When would she have done that? And why? That’s way out there thinking. Still don’t understand the seeming need to believe she has had a child or had a miscarriage or even wants a child. I think that ship has sailed and it’s pretty obvious motherhood is not on her bucket list. Our desires for others may not be their desires. People tend to think people we like want what we want – it’s one of the reasons we like people we don’t even personally know.

Speaking for myself, I don’t believe that because I have/wanted children that other women also want them. I have a few family members who do not want a child and I respect it. So, if Jen doesn’t want a child then that is fine with me. I made the statement I did because of a certain loon who rants about Jen not have a child. The loon calls her barren and acts like a women is not worthy unless she has given birth. Cruel in my opinion,

People have come up with the idea that Jen wanted a child because of what they have heard/and or read. Jen had made statements in the past that have led people to believe that she wanted a child. Maybe she can’t have children or then again, perhaps she had a change of heart (she does have that right). There were also magazine articles that stated that she had a miscarriage.

To LizE, I made the comment about the Newmans that you quoted. I don’t recall the photo spreads you refer to as I was quite young at the time but I have seen photo spreads of other star’s homes. I don’t have a problem wth that as it’s fun to see how our favorites celebs live but I know it’s just a small glimpse into their lives. The big difference with the jp’s is how they bring those kids out for endless pap strolls even when they’re obviously distressed by it, sell their pics to the tabloids, reveal private stories about their personalities and things they say and do. There’s also the talk of we’re not getting married, getting married soon, the kids want it, insinuations about their sex lives and their fidelity, it’s kind of tasteless and disgusting. Other celebs do it too but brangelina is the gold standard for famewh*ring. They have toned it down in the past year, maybe because someone told them they were overexposed. There is no comparison between the Newmans and the JP’s. Maybe privately their lives were more alike than we’d like to think but publicly the Newman’s were always a class act.

It’s definitely harder to maintain privacy today with the internet, the blogs and us gossipers who are interested in them. And the interviews these actors have to do to promote a movie. I read on the Jen thread at FF a week or so ago that she was in a hotel room and various entertainment reporters were lined up to interview her, one after another. It must get really tiresome for these people to have to answer the endless questions, especially about their personal lives. I include brangie in that. Yet, they (all) manage to fly under the radar when they want to so they use it to their advantage too.

He was talking about how easy it is to get followers. His drinking customer disputed this, and my friend proceeded to prove it to him. This was in the Bay area (San Francisco). So he did just that…went to the nearest street corner and started to do his “preaching”. Sure ’nuff, he had about fifteen people listening to him in just twenty minutes. It made the national celebrity news when it was revealed Marlon Brando admitted having seduced some big name stars earlier in his career. He named Paul Newman. Also, back in the day, news hounds were trying to link Newman and Robert Redford together. They both laughed at them without denying it. And, since it seems they are all linked by this or that, Marlon Brando had been the first choice for “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid”. It was reported that he couldn’t make up his mind which role appealed to him. Marlon was always the free spirit.

Today those pics of aj with knox, shiloh and zahara surfaced at JJ but then it came out that they were taken last December. There’s also that new tattoo on brad’s arm of the initials of aj and the kids added to that strange line that looks like an upside down cross. I wonder what’s going on. I have no source, I’m just an ordinary person entertaining myself with celebrity gossip sites. But you’ve stated with certainty that nothing is going on. Who is your source?”

We’ll set aside the factual inaccuracies in your post for now but how about the FACT there is no such court case? Though details of such cases may be sealed in some cases, the existence of the case would be public record. Where is it? And do you honestly believe such a thing would be a secret?

Trying to get someone to prove a negative or an absence of something is what useless gossips rely on to fool the gullible.

Of course all this begs the question of what type of entertainment you obtain from what would be a very sad event if it were a reality.

Hi everyone. Has anyone been over to BlindGossip today? The first blind of the day, the fifth down from the top of the page, mentions a couple selling their ‘homebase’ through private unlisted sale through their realtor. I remember the interview of Brad? talking about the military precision of their journeys away from their home base and being less than thrilled that he didn’t call it simply their home or their LA home, but a home base seemed colder to me. Most of the guesses are of Tom and Rita, Will/JadaSmith, a few of that country western couple. But remembering that home base comment…what d’ya think?
Sorry no link…I’m a mess with the computer. Can someone help me please?

Liz, there are ways of resolving custody issues without resorting to going to court. For instance, concerned parties may agree to provisions through respective legal teams if behavior is too embarrassing. Instead of risking that sensitive info getting out it is sometimes best for all involved for issues to be solved privately. Also people have legal aka and dbas as a way of getting around privacy concerns. I’ve heard of people getting legal name changes for short term to get them out o a jam. There are crafty ways of protecting yourself if you have money and good lawyers.

My apologies if you felt my comments were directed as you; they were not. The person that posted at FF (who actually did post under a name) made the statement in fact and said nothing else as to why or when or how they even knew. It was a statement made as though true with no way of proving that on a blog and it involved the welfare of the children. That’s what I meant by bizarre and leave them out of it. There are occasionally “insiders” who write statements as fact out of the blue (and then, of course, disappear). If I knew something concrete I wouldn’t post about it unless I could show proof, succumbing to the temptation to do otherwise is pointless. In some cases I wouldn’t post it at all if it was too sensitive.

I do agree that the children are part of the larger story of this couple because the parents have chosen to use them publicly which has caused them to be a part of gossip and ridicule. It’s hard not to include them in the conversation at all. And I know it’s odd that we’re all here posting on blind riddles. But we are guessing and commenting on the clues and riddles and that should be obvious to a reader in most cases. If taken in context most comments here are not written as fact but build off the previous posts.

Just wanted to clarify my post. Looks like you’re taking some heat today!

Do you remember TWA Flight 800, with 230 people aboard, and which was blown out of the sky? It happened on July 17, 1996. Well, about 600 people gave eyewitness accounts of the crash. They claimed they saw a fireball streak toward the plane. Upwards. Witnesses were blocked from testifying at hearings, later.
Now, there is a documentary about it. I hope to see this one.

We’ve never seen her alone with these kids, she always has employees around her. joLIE did not invent motherhood….and the rest of us, who have raised children, did not have a half dozen nannies to help…we know a fraud when we see one! Anyone with eyes can see that joLIE is anorexic, which speaks to her having a psychological disorder! IMO, Guest 2 is showing more humanity/compassion by questioning the strange/innapropriate behavior of this dysfunctional family than any of joLIE’s (so called) fans do, by trying to justify her fucked up behavior. :)

If I disagree wth your regular inaccuracies or mis-remembered events then I am “unpleasant” or uncivil.

There should be room for differing viewpoints and takes on different celebs. No one should be getting offended because some inaccuracy they post is corrected. If you cannot handle those simple notions of fairness then perhaps you should just scroll past my posts and spare yourself the annoyance my posts seem to cause you. I am not here to annoy anyone just as I assume you are not here to deliberately annoy others.

As for criticizing a mother whom none of us personally knows, perhaps we should wait to see if SHE raises children who become substance abusers and otherwise troubled. It is always disappointing to see women attacking other women on issues for which they have only unsubstantiated gossip to base their suppositions and opinions on.

Angelina Jolie is receiving the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian award at the next oscars. It’s not a competitive award; it should be discontinued, really. Nobody knows who Jean Hersholt is/was. It’s just part of the “patting oneself on the back” ceremony.

It did make me think it’s all orchestrated. We, in america, have many hungry, homeless people of all ages and cultures. There are heroes who are constantly helping the less fortunate. Hollywood can’t comprehend that unsung heroes are everywhere. They don’t receive awards for their charity, no matter how chic. These people are helped by celebrities who are adamant that their names be kept private. Once in a while, someone lets the cat out of the bag, so to speak. So we hear about Connie Stevens helping the Native Americans on the reservations; or in an earlier period, Lucille Ball helping the neglected poor on the reservations. Things like that.

Maybe I shouldn’t focus on the oscars. I truly haven’t watched the boring show for several years. Instead I read that this person named Harvey Weinstein (sp?) campaigns for certain actors. He did it to win Meryl Streep her last oscar. I saw it happening, but there wasn’t a way I could alert the black performers. You see, Viola Davis had already won the Screen Actors Guild award for Best Actress. I knew the black actors should not have assumed they were already in, despite the color issue going for them. But there were no addresses one could reach them, easily.

As you can see, a lot of the award shows are manipulated. That’s why Oprah W. raising the “race card” really stank. Now comes word that the director of “The Butler”, Lee Daniels is a longtime friend of OW. So, when Jane Fonda was said to have given an all-time great performance in the movie, only to find most of her brilliant work wound up on the cutting room floor; well, you see….

My good aquaintance, has it figured this way: I’m sorry, but I’m just not going to see a black billionairess as a victim of racism. So, for her to claim racism, so as to win oscar’s attention is just wrong!

I guess it’s pretty clear that nominations and awards are often given not to the people and movies that deserve them but to those who campaign the hardest and “buy” them. Ricky Gervais pretty much said that when The Tourist was nominated for best comedy at the Golden Globes several years ago. That was probably one of the funniest awards shows I’ve ever watched, especially his comments about the Tourist (not to mention the looks on the faces of depp/angie). Oprah is a self-serving egotist for sure and I’m not a fan but I have to say she gave a good performance in The Color Purple many years ago.

On another note, I contacted my representative and two senators to express my opposition to a military involvement in Syria. I don’t know what good it will do but at least I’ve made my voice heard. Unfortunately, President Obama doesn’t need Congress’ approval for a strike. We’ll have to wait and see what he does. Yes, the silence of liberal hollywood is indeed, deafening! So easy to make movies with their liberal views, (for which I laud them), but so much harder to confront other liberals in person. Matt Damon is anti-Obama-policies, and that’s some good, there; but I can’t think of anyone else. Maybe there’s no one to write a script for them, and they’re lost without someone writing their words. So we cannot rely on them, because there is too much at stake.

Got an invite to a vigil up in La Jolla, tomorrow. Regretfully, there’s a conflict, here. We don’t have too much time I understand. The war-mongers are smelling blood, so to speak.

In some old movies, they used to spoof our all-consuming interest in the movie stars. There’d be a huge headline screaming such and such a star twisting their ankle, or some such; and underneath in a smaller box, would be one that read, “WWIII” started.

There has not been an outcry from those in Hollywood, but their silence will be remembered by many people on the left who are against bombing Syria (I have found several petitions including ones sponsored by CREDO, the Pen, and Roots Action [yes, I signed them]). According to my search on Google, Ed Asner, Mike Farrell, and Madonna have spoken against the bombing. Barbara Streisand has made the comment that congress should think carefully before preceding (I agree, not a bold statement). I quit voting for Dianne Feinstein a long time ago.

It just grew to be too weighty and phony, imo! It’s the same performers who get the meaty parts even if they don’t necessarily have the boxoffice appeal. Over and over! Meanwhile there are so many genuinely talented actors who haven’t acted in even so-so material in years. One example: Frederic Forrest.
Now it seems that the leading actors are searching for real-life characters to portray. Although it can backfire; as witness Naomi Watts’, as Princess Di.

Now we have the Five-Min.Wonders such as the Kartrashians, Housewives Of Any City, Bad Girls Club television programs that the young people seriously wish to emulate for their opportunity to five min. of fame that has ruined the drive for true entertainment in films. Seems when one studio has a successful movie, all the other studios steal that storyline and make copies of it. I think that is why I’m such an avid Old HW Movies fan. Maltese Falcon? Great Find~! I’m sure Jolie wouldn’t want that out, so she must have angered some of the paps by breaking their bargain. I know in some places in Europe the paps are not allowed by law to photograph children without the parent’s permissions; seeing so many photos of the J-P kids proves they have given it. I think many were turned off by they way they began by selling their babies photos to the highest bidders as well, especially under the guise of donating the money to charity. With their millions and repurtations as humanitarians why sell a newborn’s photo and donate the money that infant earned to charity? Isn’t that a bit odd for a humanitarian?? Especially as they could afford to donate generously from their own pockets. Brad could auction off one of his plethora of bikes, Angie could see an airplane….at least that’s how I see it.@Guest2:

A friend suggested I save to my HD to be sure they don’t vanish again, but I’ve been saving screen shots now hoping my library of data won’t disappear again. That particular link was very interesting as it stated Holly has THREE children, and it mentioned birth dates, sexes of the children , etc. I wondered immediately how she could travel so much with Angie when she has three children. The only child I’ve seen in photos with Angie and Holly that was identified as Holly’s was the little girl years back.@Guest2:

Often when I come here I read through the riddles on the main page to see if anything jumps out at me. Has anyone noticed that the book review of My Dirty Laundry on the “Sundress Zombie…So Yi Hun!! Dirty Laundry” riddle has been removed? I noticed about Thursday of last week. It’s possible that Ian was asked to take it down or just decided to remove the review.

Or he took it down to update that riddle. The middle of that riddle appears pretty clear that someone had a tryst with that actress and it was probably BP. I would take the inclusion of the book review of My Dirty Laundry to mean that this was somehow going to become public.

Then there’s the addition of the AJ tattoo pics “know your rights” and the tiger tat after the initial posting. The pic was inserted between the riddle and the book review. So my guess is this was going to become public, she or someone on her behalf intervened and now that dirty laundry has gone away.

I looked further at the “if you could spend a night with…” post dated August 7th which is just before the riddle on this thread. I don’t believe it was filler but meant as an introduction to this current riddle. The tag is JP which imo means the couple. This appears to be an explanation of the relationship through her. This is what I see:

The four pictures labeled with a number and big “I”s (not really sure what the scrolls are supposed to mean)

JL – young, Oscar winner with a possible wild side. Made the comment that she would never get involved with a married man, would never cheat… (sound familiar?)

JC – young hw starlet, sexually free, reputation for being with many men but says not true (sound familiar?)

AJ – (the only head shot) wearing a gangster/gangsta fedora – this photo was on the cover of German Elle in September 2010. The gangster fedora symbolized “these men’s adversarial relationship with conformity.” Ian may have used this to represent her earlier years

HB – appears may have a somewhat unstable personality, troubled relationships, child custody issues

Then the pics labeled with a number and the little “i”s:

BC – superimposed head on a Chippendale dancer’s body (erotic dancer). False perceptions of her??

MW – hw sex symbol, thought to have had two secret marriages. Apparently admitted to one marriage but the other remains rumor only

RH – hw sex symbol with “engaging manliness” and closeted gay actor

MP – rumored to have had an affair with John Malkovich while filming the movie Dangerous Liaisons

So then on August 8th Ian posts the current riddle. My guess on the riddle –

Bubbles can be popped easily if not careful. The reflection in the bubble is of the Golden Gate Bridge, the symbol of American enterprise and San Francisco, which has the largest concentration of lgbt persons in the US.

strong chin gusto – can take a punch, vigor, gusto is also a nickname sometimes used for a Swedish MMA fighter named Gustafsson. Giving me a picture of the alpha male.

Sucio is masculine; sucia is feminine.

So guessing this is about him. His image is of the hw heartthrob alpha male. The intractable fear is that his “sexual algebra” will leak (or she will leak it?) and he’s despondent.

Hopefully, the results of wwz and tyas will make him feel better?!

I didn’t notice that clue had changed. The only thing I would say about brad is that in the last few months he hasn’t really looked despondent and recently he looks happy, especially when compared to those pics of him at the airport a couple of years ago when he was filming KTS. I don’t doubt she’s got the goods on him and possibly threatened to leak info. But maybe he’s got something on her that he can leak and that’s given him the upper hand.

By the way, I’m sorry that link I posted to FF and my response caused such a ruckus. That particular comment about custody issues just jumped out at me even though we don’t know who posted it. We really never see her alone with the children. Even in those pap strolls there are always bodyguards and nannies in the background and now she’s also got Holly with her in Australia. And for the past year we’ve seen her strange, maniacal grin quite a bit. Something seems to have changed with them in the last year or maybe a little longer.

Also, the gay trysts TC had with some male pros. In those days TC used to sue for millions at the drop of a hat, so to speak. Well, he did, until he lost at least one case. After that, we never heard of any lawsuit pending.
So I kept the lengthy article. Felt sorry for Katie. Bloggers however pointed out that she got involved with her own free will. Still, she was rather naive. She might have seen what Nicole had accomplished with her marriage, and concluded it might happen to her, as well.

I didn’t realize that many viewers of The Miss America Pageant could be that racist. I say this because it was all over the internet that racists were decrying the win of an Indian-American as Miss America. They spewed all kinds of hateful labels at her. One has to go way, way back to see that it has happened before; albeit on a lesser scale. The victim of the racism back then, was the Jewish, Bess Myerson.
It’s sad that racism keeps getting recycled. No matter how far African Americans have come, they still have to deal with the George Zimmermans. Hopefully, they’ll keep marching on for equality.

I feel the race card is being so overused that it’s created a desensitization. It’s the same with the “four letter words” that were banned from television that have now somehow become the norm. People are not as bothered by bullish behaviors, name calling, cursing as they once were, therefore I think when people use racial epitaphs , either designating black OR white, no one feels it’s as taboo as in previous generations. The races have been mixing socially and sexually more and more in the over 150 years since the slaves were freed by the Emancipation Proclamation, so I truly feel it’s just become another accepted name to call someone by the bullies. It’s even been used by blacks in songs they write, and refer to one another, so how shocking can it be in this world today. The answer, imo, is like in Europe where all races assimilate into that nation’s society. JMO@WR:

That is totally interesting. Didn’t know that; maybe he just seemed too much of a phony, to me. Yes, he seems very womanly to me in many shots and articles. I have a hunch he’s been advised “to butch it up” often. But he just doesn’t have it; the masculine persona, I mean. It’s like he plays dress up in masculine attire.
When he co-starred with Tom Cruise, in “Interview with a Vampire”, he came across as very womanly. I wonder if TC tried to convert him to scientology. If he did; at least for once, BP played it smart by refusing.

As I’ve said several times before, I hope some enterprising journalist would compile a little booklet, a-la the sayings of G. W. Bush, Jr. , of Brangelina.
Something along the lines of “What they say vs. what they do”. Then, put it at the front of the supermarket line.

Yes, when it is mis-used it can desensitize the people. One should rise above that. It’s similar, to me, when religious people pontificate, then are caught in adulterous behavior. Also, when priests molest kids. People turn away from religion. So it is with racism. I have seen it used by a certain ethnic group most of all; and they have made tremendous gains by it. Now, here’s the kicker: This ethnic group is as racist as they come. And, power-hungry! Many of my acquaintances talk about it. Some are of that same ethnic group; some are teachers of history, and others are of all political persuasions. We don’t see a good outcome in the long run from giving this ethnic group so much free sway to achieve their powerful gains. And that’s because the foundation of their achievements is based on rotten material.
And that rotten foundation is made of Lies!

Some people believe our current life is a hell of sorts. So when we leave this planet, we’ll go straight to heaven. Others feel this is it; there is no afterlife. Others feel we go to some beautiful place if we are righteous. And that, to them, is what we call heaven. So many viewpoints. Then there is the Roman Catholic teaching; i.e. we go to either heaven or hell. And most of us go to a place called purgatory. It’s a purifying station where one is purged by fire. It’s said to be a place of such intense suffering that it is hell, but with the surety that one will eventually get to heaven. In other words, there is HOPE!
Now, there are modern religious clergy who are drifting from that belief in purging by fire. A few tend to believe in a less severe destination for righteous people. Some of it is their lack of comprehension of such intense outcomes for basically good people. However, the majority believe traditionally.
(Please don’t take my post as gospel. I don’t have the answers.) (I was continuing my thought process about the stars featured in a paper. Stars like George Clooney, who don’t believe there is a God.)

I should stress that morally, I cannot cast the first stone; or any stones. My sins would match anyone’s except for murders, violence, molesting, stepping over peoples’ rights, etc. Does that make sense?

One of my favorite role-models is Kris Kristofferson. He had a wild youth. He is a brilliant songwriter. A good folk/country singer. In fact, he made it into The Country Music Hall of Fame. Drugs were part of his career. Then he changed. He quit that destructive lifestyle. He even composed a song about Mary Magdalene. The latter is a prime symbol of the power of God’s mercy. She became one of the greatest saints in the Roman Catholic Church. But she had had 7 devils in her that were cast out by Jesus, the Christ.

Another favorite performer is Willie Nelson. He too, was not a saint. He still is known for his indulgence in marijuana highs. But what a songwriter. He has a wicked sense of humor. And he goes on his own way. He has gone on the wrong side of the country music establishment; i. e. The Good Ole Boys. He knows it, and he wondered why they were hypocritical in the case of The Dixie Chicks. He mentioned that he did the same thing they did, but no one censured him as they did the female singing goup, basically ending their career.
He was always a rebel, as demonstrated when he sang a song about cowboys sometimes being fond of each other. Of course, that wasn’t played on country music stations. He just did his thing, and recently released another book.
I always felt he could sing jazz if he wanted to.

i am sad he is dying and i am sad i was not able to spend more time with him than i did. but the drs told him and us in the beginning that its an easy painless death. so there is a lot of peace.

“I failed to save the article about Brad and his visits to a gay city somewhere in the SouthWest. The article said he was a frequent flier there”

Patty Anne, like you, I wish I saved information on the web that has since been deleted. I think you are referring to the Boom Boom Room in Laguna Beach. It was attached to a hotel. A few years ago patrons of the Boom Boom Room, which is a gay establishment, took out an ad asking BP and GC to invest in the establishment because it was having financial problems. There has to be some reason why they would choose those two to ask for help. I think there are still articles on the web about the ad asking for help from BP and GC. If I recall, there was a blind item about BP hanging out at this place. I don’t think it is still in business.

“When he co-starred with Tom Cruise, in “Interview with a Vampire”, he came across as very womanly. I wonder if TC tried to convert him to scientology.”

    WR,

I read years ago that BP had a gentleman from New Orleans staying w/ him on the set of the movie, and that TC was pissed about it. I didn’t get the impression he was pissed because he wanted BP. Maybe he was pissed that he could not use the opportunity to talk to BP about joining Scientology.

I recently started watching ‘Sons of Anarchy.’ The guy who just got the lead male role in ‘50 Shades of Grey” is on that show, and he resembles BP. In episode 2 of Season 2, the character who resembles BP is in a scene with a porn moviemaker (played by Tom Arnold). Tom Arnold’s character tells him that he looks like Brad Pitt, but not as gay.

Dream and Up the Coast, I hope things get better for both of you soon. Dream, don’t be so hard on yourself. After reading your posts for the past couple of years, I don’t have a doubt that you have been and are a great daughter. UPC, even though I don’t know the details because I have been MIA for a while, I am sorry for your loss. Hugs to both of you.

I, too, thank you. Now, I remember, vaguely, about the SOS from the Laguna Beach club. I agree there had to be a reason they selected these two. If I remember well, GC and BP were tight. Then, did someone advise him to distance himself from GC? He started to insult GC, and hint at George’s sexual orientation. Course this threw us off at the time; meaning, Oh BP must be straight; otherwise, why would he make fun of GC’s supposed preference. Then, I realized that TC did the very same thing when he was new to the biz. It’s been reported that he was out, until Sean Penn told him in no uncertain terms that if he wanted a career, he better head straight to the closet. (My words.) So he did, and joined scientology. After that, the gay rags featuring TC disappeared from newsstands. Then, he made fun of gay actors and gay situations, and made sure he was heard by the crew.

I never saw that pic but looking at it I understand why he hooked up with jolie. They probably give each other a lot of leeway with their sexual proclivities. If I had to guess I would say that Jen tried to cope with that aspect of brad’s life because she loved him but probably had a difficult time with it. Most women would I think unless they also had the same inclinations. If it weren’t for aj’s crazy she and brad actually would be perfect for each other or maybe they are in spite of it. I wonder if brad feared that jen would reveal some of his secrets after the divorce. All this is just my opinion, of course. I’d love to know, though, what prompted his petty little comments about his unhappy marriage.

Yes, it made me think of a whiney bitch tossing a hissie fit at mommy for not taking good enough care to keep him out of his present unhappy circumstances. You can almost hear Brad saying, “It’s YOUR fault, you didn’t fight hard enough for me to prevent her from making me do this!” – typical cop-out from a man who thought he could get away with a little side piece who had other, more permanent plans. Don’t you have to love how karma bit him in his arse in the end? He can never cut free of her now, she would stalk him to his grave.@Guest2:

I am a Netflix prime member, which I think is $79 annually. I get one free book a month on my Kindle from the “Kindle Library”, free delivery from Amazon if it is from their warehouse, and access to some free movies and tv programs. That is how I have been able to watch Sons of Anarchy, through Amazon Prime. If I didn’t have prime, they would charge me $1.99 per episode. I actually watched for free recently “Hunger” which was directed by Steve McQueen and starred Michael Fassbender, one of several movies they did together. Although it was a tearjerker, I enjoyed this movie and am now fans of both Steve McQueen and Michael Fassbender.

It took me a few episodes to like and want to watch Sons of Anarchy, but I now really enjoy the series. Charlie Hunnam is ruggedly handsome, and definitely more masculine than Brad Pitt. Ron Perlman and Katy Sagal are great in their roles in this show.

There is a backlash against the choice of Cory Monteith for one of the “In Memoriam” emmy tributes. He was chosen for the younger viewers. But there were a few veterans such as Jack Klugman, who some feel were given short shrift for a young star who didn’t really have a long term impact on the industry.

    OT;
Today, I was privy to the recent changes in churchgoers’ behaviour and attitudes. For example, in the bulletin, the pastor reported that parishioners were asking if they could bring their pets inside the church. They also asked if they could bring food inside. It doesn’t take much deductive reasoning to figure out what would happen if they allowed that. The obvious answer was, no.
I did notice that the congregation is very casual. This becomes a mindset of sorts. What follows is a lack of respect for where it is we’re supposed to be.
And the hymns. No familiarity there. Only the organist, (who chooses the hymns), seems able to sing them. And to add to the dismay, when there is one halfway familiar, we get to sing only one verse.
Am searching for another place to worship. Thing is, the place I go is not far away.

We knew that she went all out to promote the movie when it received bad reviews. The media gave her all the exposure she demanded. It was impressive even to myself.

Among my acquaintances, she isn’t popular. Sort of a has-been. They liked her in those Tomb Raider movies. But, I’m afraid they don’t think much of her as an actress other than those. They’re skeptical about the breast surgery; just doesn’t make sense to them. But it sure helped BP’s movie.

One of the many topics that interest me, is the recent earthquakes activity. Some are over the 5. 0 magnitude. A huge one in Pakistan and another in Peru. A goodly-sized one in the North Atlantic Ocean, near Iceland. And, of course, The Aleutian Islands and Papua New Guinea. There is a lot throughout the year in those latter locations.
And then, a new island was formed after the 7.8 magnitute earthquake near Pakistan yesterday.

Reading a small book about the Titanic aftermath. Survivors did confirm that the band was indeed playing, “Nearer My God, to Thee”. Also, a Canadian suvivor reported that the night atmosphere was clear as a bell, (my words). Also, for an hour, there were people in the water looking for rescue, but those in the boats were too scared to go looking for them. They feared for any threats to their security in the boats. They said that they heard a constant moan from those in the waters.

Ian, I’m also reading about a jewish doctor, who was an assistant to Mengele, at the death camp. He tells about many incidents regarding the prisoners. It’s a very difficult read. Not a big novel; more like a novelette. It’s crammed with enough drama for a much larger tome.

Then, there are histories. An acquaintance loaned me a book. And another, who is into reading heavily, borrowed my auto-bio of Maureen O’Hara. He subsequently voiced his disrespect for her. Had to defend her, and explain her roots in the Old Sod. She had had a Love/Hate relationship coming at her from the macho, but gay director, John Ford. She revealed that she caught him in a hugging/kissing embrace back in “The Long, Gray Line” filming, with a very big male star of that time. She also wrote that when the Academy Award nominations were being tallied back in early 1953, her actress friend, Anne Baxter, was among those counting the votes. When they were finished, Ms. Baxter called her to congratulate her on being among the 5 Best Actress nominees, (for, “The Quiet Man”). But when the official list was announced, her name was not on the roll. It was quite clear who was responsible for her name being removed. No one else had the power that John Ford had back then.
My friendly acquaintance didn’t like it at all, that she was “like a rug” that men walked all over. But, I told him, she had a good, long career.

So, I’ll end with a humorous thing one acquaintance told our small circle, from a cartoon he once saw. Seems that a cat in among the tenements was making a pest of itself by its caterwauling in the late, late night. Finally, a tenant yelled out the window, “SCAT!” The cat proceeded to do so, a-la a jazz singer.

Could brad look any more gay than he does here? What did he do, take time off in the middle of shooting a movie to go stage photo ops at a jewelry store in Hong Kong? Maybe he’s got a small role and they can continue filming without him. Can these two turkeys be any more obvious?

He doesn’t seem to be trying very hard to hide his bi-sexuality these days, does he? Angie seems very timid in the jewelry shop photos I noticed, and Brad is morphing into another personna which means a new partner whether publicly or privately. I think it’s toast and Angie is not happy to be dumped by yet another partner when she went to such extreme measures to snag him.@Guest2:

What I get from the pic is that they’re trying to make BP look young. They want us to forget that he’s middle-aged, with most probably, salt-and-pepper hair. And the hair on AJ is probably mostly hair additions.

It seems so weird that AJ would even be interested in JA’s possible pregnancy. Who in this cottonpickin’ world does that? Even tho she has admitted to preferring women, why would she even remotely have a stake in another woman’s maternal developments?
Well, Johnny Depp and Colin Farrell are probably counting their blessings, daily.

The only reason I can think of why either of them would care is that they pushed the lies that the marriage broke up because Jen didn’t want children and brad did. If Jen has a child with another man it will show that they were lies and it will dredge up the past. I don’t think the triangle will truly die unless and until brad and angie break up, if they ever do, [ublicly anyway. I think their current arrangement is convenient for them both.

Yep. I think as you suggested, Brad and Angie will remain a functioning partnership due to the children they’ve gathered. The bad press would kill their aspirations immediately if they should publicly separate and the kids not be seen to be well cared for afterward. We know Angie has admitted to being bi-sexual, and although Brad has not come out with it, there have been way too many indications and hints that he is ( Boom Boom Room asking for a gay party to buy the club and Brad and George were the ones they tried to get to do so), the photos of Brad early in his HW days curled up in the arms of an older man – way too many indications. I would love to know why he left Missouri so short of graduation from college – had to be something pretty bad to do that and toss all mom’s and dad’s cash spent putting him through wouldn’t you think? Big story there I’m guessing.@Guest2:

There was indeed a major earthquake in the area of Pakistan. Shows that one shouldn’t trust every report, (including mine, since I reported what I heard.)

So, here’s what I saw at the site I just visited. Magnitude 5.7 WSW of Puerto Madero, Mexico; M.5.4 Reykianes Ridge; M. 7.0, off coast of Peru; and the one yesterday, in Pakistan. Reuters reported that the death toll reached 327.

No one drops out of college weeks before graduation, no one but a person in serious trouble. I also noticed he stays away from Missouri, and only goes home for short visits, always less than a week. Definitely something serious there. If he’s prevented from adopting in the U.S., that indicates a major character flaw, a legal one at that. As I read Thom Racine’s account of his relationship with BP, I thought he sounded just like a sugar daddy. He was manipulated. And it was right in character with the BP who manipulated significant others right up to the present day. But he met more than his match in AJ. As some women have noted, she keeps his b—s in her purse.
I must add that Thom Racine may have the creative bent, but he allowed himself to be manipulated by his boy toy. He sounds like the stereotypical old man who spends, spends, spends on his young lover, and then wonders why he was dumped.

I always assumed that the reason they adopted overseas was because of aj’s drug use, especially heroin. Same with bp, I guess. Easier to buy children in certain countries overseas, I think. I’m not sure where anyone got the idea that it is easier for a U.S. citizen to adopt overseas and bring the child into the US. It is not. There are very stringent requirements covering many aspects of the prospective adoptive parents ‘ lives including their medical and mental health, any criminal background, finances, etc.

So even if some countries may make it easier – and I haven’t seen any proof of that – the US government has never made it easy. There are various reasons why people opt for foreign adoptions. For instance in the US there is a great fear that years down the road one or both of the biologial parents will challenge the adoption which is an unbearable thought for most adoptive parents. Abandoned/orphaned/neglected children in many developing world countries face a terrible future in societies with little or no safety net. In the end it is a personal choice and I think it should be respected.

The adoption packages are voluminous and require a lot of time and effort and various requirements have to be regularly updated such as medical tests. It is unfair and insulting to those who have gone through or are undergoing transnational adoptions to suggest it is somehow a shortcut or for people who are less desirable parents. I don’t know biological parents or those who use the surrogacy process to parenthood who have to undergo the same requirements and standards.

If, a big IF, AJ has photos/secrets/info, and such, about BP, then I think she has the upper hand. Since she controls the media, she could threaten to leak the damaging data. Besides, he has it made, being with her. Who else could give him leeway to hook up with his preferred partners. Also, he’s no longer the spring chicken, so to speak. Newer actors have taken over the dream business.

When his partners wake up in the morning, they must see the 50 yr old person beside them; unless vanity dictated he’d make sure they don’t see him so exposed.

Wonder if AJ watches the sites to get updates about what bloggers are saying about him, then does the adjustments. Too many coincidences, imo! But then, they have the right to mold themselves into a more appealing, to the public, commodities.
It’s all make believe, after all.

Poor Jolie….can’t keep a man. Not even after trapping him with a gaggle of kids. I think her little double mastectomy was another ruse to keep Pitt in the relationship…..it backfired on her. He may of been there for her during her surgery because truly she has no one else, but after that it seems he split again. He didn’t plan on her making it public, but she did, and so he had to play the PR game with her. Ever since those couple of times he let her on the red carpet with him for WWZ…he’s been off doing his own things, TIFF, Telluride, in England, etc.
Of course she had to make it seem like she HAD to be in Australia, to start working on Unbroken, but the movie doesn’t begin filming until Oct. 21…instead she’s been playing doting “single” mother, taking those kids everywhere.
Now it seems like they are trying to outdo each other in PR photos, of playing doting parents.

ITA What is it about Pitt? Other celebs wear scarves and don’t look gay, Johnny, Jude, Viggo, DDL,etc. I think it is just that Pitt is just a few shades paler and a few steps away from the facial characteristics of a CroMagnum that any accessories make him ridiculous and emphasize his femininity. He’d be the femme one in the jokes of the cave people getting hit over the head and dragged by the hair into the cave as a bottom. ;)

More than likely to make it look to the public something more than what it is, a kid trade off, probably due to their custody arrangement, Pitt gets these kids certain number of days per month. Next trade off will be the boys, Maddox and Pax. Then the girls. Watch and see.

Pitt is due to keep filming Fury until January 2014. She will be filming Unbroken well into the first part of 2014, as they STILL don’t have the full cast, and now there is problem with the “funding” since one of the production companies, Walden Media is going belly up…..

What does that tell you about their supposed 3 day rule or they never work at the same time?? Yes, they are done as a couple, only sharing custody of 6 kids. IMO.

Next April 27th, Catholics will have 2 new saints. Both will be popular popes. Pope John XXIII, and Pope John Paul II. The latter will have been dead less than ten years. But, if one recalls, the people, esp. the young, were chanting, “SAINTHOOD, NOW!” as his casket was being carried away to the tomb.

One of the biggest narcissists was the cardinal from Massachsuetts who, after years of covering up child sexual abuse, was moved to the Vatican and has lived a very nice life there. He should have had criminal charges brought against him for the cover up. A loathesome man but I won’t mention his name. I hope that Pope Francis will succeed in reforming the church which has been taken over by men who are not so Godly. I have not been a practicing Catholic for a long time but many close to me are and for them (and for myself because I will also consider myself a Catholic even if I don’t always go to church) I would love for the church to be rehabilitated.

Apparently, it’s been rumored that Mia Farrow’s son, Ronan, might actually be the bio son of Frank Sinatra and not woody allen and Mia Farrow said in an interview that it’s possible. Since he’s such a good looking young man with beautiful blue eyes it sounds plausible. I like this story, maybe because I can’t stand woody allen. Here’s the story with pix:

Some of us could match anyone in hollywood, regarding dysfunctional families. And even top them; not that would be so great an “accomplishment”. Yet, we stick with our faith. Why? It brings comfort one cannot get in false friends; the bottle; any other artificial high; power; awards; riches; fame; you name it! Nothing! Nada! Still, we are sinners, yeah? Totally true!

And there’s some things I detest about certain religious teachings. It, the teachings, has brought misery untold. But we cling to our beliefs. So?
It depends on the individual, in the final run.

We have an individual here, who was in “The Wizard of Oz” as a toddler. She is very quiet, so I haven’t had a tete-a-tete with her. However, one of my friendly acquaintances did. Her memory is superior. Only got a bit from her. He was able to get more. Harmless stuff.
We have one is a film extra. She subscribes to a trade paper. She doesn’t know I have so much inside info about show biz. Not that I’d tell her. Again, a private individual.
As I have mentioned before, others here have had much closer ties with big names, esp. from the past. Here, I cannot tell them some of the things I know, personally.
And the music business. That’s a whole other segment they talk about. Like I’ve mentioned, one guy was a musician backing some superstars of the day. He blurts out their sexual peccadilloes. But people don’t care about that. Another is still active with his drumming.
And, singers. And, it seems to run the whole gamut. That’s when they feel like talking; so who knows what other stories there are untold. It’s fascinating to listen most of the time.

Ronan should have received this information ( which he probably did since Nancy Sinatra came out saying he’s always been included in Sinatra family gatherings), and made the decision to make it public knowledge – or – not. If Nancy Sinatra’s comments are any indication it sounds like there may have been a paternity test done already. He is in talks to do a show on MSNBC and now his sister, Dylan, has spoken out about the abuse allegations against Allen when she was 7 years old. I think allen is another pedophile that hollywood is protecting.

Angie’s been burning up her infamous Fax Machine again, which means she’s not getting the results (adoration) she demands. She took all those kids to Australia more than a month early, while Brad went to the TIFF, then Brad flies to UK and now she’s in Hong Kong. So Brad flies from UK to Hong Kong to pick up the twins and their shared bodyguard ( Brad’s ) and flies with them back to the UK. Now Angie is back in Australia and out comes this story of Maddox finding information about mum and dad’s illicet affair on the set of MAMS and the way they manipulated the press to claim Jen deserved it, it was all her fault. So, as Angie’s latest Fax states, Maddox confronted Mummy and asked her, “Who’s Jen?” at which time Angie is supposed to have freaked out and ordered Brad to inform “all their kids”…..yea, not buying this one either. Keep trying Angie, somewhere, somehow, someone may actually give a darn.

It should be fairly easy to get information about the separation agreement they both signed with their attorneys back in March, 2010 – and the child handing-off recent sort of proves it, you know, both working at the same time now? No going no more than three days apart, and only one of them works at a time? More B.S. only now it’s obvious.

There was one young, white guy who carried Brad’s magazine cover with him as one would see a girl do with her dreamboat. So, at 50, he does have it, still. Never saw his appeal. So the young actor is blaming the older actor for letting his secret habit become known. In truth, the older actor had nothing to do with the reveal. The younger actor has made up his mind, however. And is he ever p—ed!
The most popular guess is the older one is Dennis Quaid; and the younger actor, is Zac Efron.

What else do they have? A “trial” separation? pppffft. These two haven’t been together, in 2-3 yrs…outside of doing business for their brand, and co-parenting 6 kids.

The only thing I have to say is this: WHY CAN’T ANGELINA JOLIE KEEP A MAN??

Jolie’s career is dead in the water, now. The only thing she has is pimping those kids and her humanitarian work. Pitt won’t have the same problem as he has a production company.

This is going to get messy. Pitt has already started with the poisonous arrows stating she was the FIRST one to cheat on him, so he’s going to try to be the sympathetic one once again. Pop the popcorn…….and pass it around.

While I do agree that Pitt has a long history of dumping his partners, it would be harder to get rid of AJ. It would be especially difficult, if she has something the media would love to hold onto. Then too, maybe he’s very satisfied with his current status.
AJ did go all out to keep his name and his last movie in the news. As a result, it was somewhat of a hit. Never mind that the subject of zombies may have been the main attraction for this one. After that, it seems that he owes Angie for the success of this movie.
And what about the missing laptop? Was it ever returned to them? If not, where is it?
Also, when BP was partying his a– off, and was high as he could get, did AJ secretly take pics? What was he wearing? I remember something was mentioned about rabbit ears a while back. What a photo that would be!
Now that he’s middle-aged, his party days may well be over. He has adopted kids that are more in need of parental nurturing as they head toward their teenage years. He will need the energy to keep up with them. Nannies are great for toddlers and adolescent children, but they may not be able to control teenagers.
    Jmo!

NOTW did not tap the phones of either Pitt or Jolie. There is plenty of real news available, as opposed to gossip with the typical joke “anonymous” sources, about the truth of the NOTW scandal. A huge and detailed nvestigation was done and its results are available if you have an interest in the truth and not just unfounded and long ago refuted gossip.

“Eunice Huthart, who began working with Jolie in 2001, filed a lawsuit against New Corp. Friday in a California court. She alleges that News International newspapers The Sun and the now-defunct News of the World hacked into her phone to retrieve information about the actress while they were working together in Los Angeles between 2004 and 2005. In the lawsuit, Huthart cites multiple stories that ran about Jolie’s blossoming relationship with Pitt while the two stars were filming “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” — information that only their closest confidants knew at the time. ‘

I’m not sure if you started that thread (great thread) on the other site where I lurk but don’t post but since you asked the question here I’ll reply. I can only guess that with regard to the other men they got tired of being with batshit crazy. However, with regard to pitt, a poster at FF summed it up perfectly and I hope that she doesn’t mind my bringing her comments over here:

“There had to be another powerful temptation for Pitt to jettison the life he was living. It wasn’t Jolie herself, or Shiloh’s surprise appearance, or Jen booting him out the door.

It was the glittering lure of being the male half of the super-celebrity couple Brangelina that got Pitt aboard the crazy train and kept him there. It was his choice, freely made, from utterly selfish motives. He was greedy for more fame, more money. And look how well it’s turned out for him.”

I don’t know for sure if they’ve split but my opinion is that any relationship they have revolves around the children and what’s left of the “brand” which, to me, really isn’t much. I don’t know if pitt could come out of a split unscathed. Leaving a marriage where there are no children is a lot different than walking out on a relationship where there are 6 children. He’s already shown himself to be a cad with the comments he made about his marriage. I think that public opinion will favor jolie. She’s a master manipulator when it comes to working the media and I think she’ll do a number on him, especially if he’s seen in publing with a young thing on his arm.

I agree with most of that whole post, except I don’t think that Jolie is the master manipulator that she used to be when she had that Trevor on her team. She’s been making huge PR mistakes. Leg bomb, citing a possible cancer scare as the reason for the implants and then going absurdly large and those huge breasts are crazily in contrast to her own body. Then there are the silicone nips that don’t exactly fit the humanitarian image that only worries about the unfortunates. That’s pure ego. And if her ego is that overwhelming in that instance, what about her humanitarian photos always published in gossip rags with her always front and center with the poor posed as props, always admiring Jolie.. These are big PR errors.
Then there are the loons, which hurt her really bad with their prolific posts. Women don’t like her and she doesn’t have the sex appeal that Lara Croft got for her. I don’t see her winning either if any split is argumentative. There’s her quote that went something like, it would be much worse to split and speak unkindly about your ex partner. Any bad press about either of them and I think the public would immediately suspect the other….those attacks on Aniston for all this time later was finally a public eye opener. The public is just not that gullible any longer about anything. People have become suspicious of everything and everyone. Just some thoughts, I’ve had.

You made some very good points and I agree with what you said. Still, I think she’s got a lot of dirt on him and won’t hesitate to start a stealth campaign to leak it and maybe even spread lies like her loons did with the jennifer didn’t want to give brad children stories. She still has the UN humanitarian work and while most of us are on to the fact that she uses it for self promotion, I don’t think the general public (or the media) has fully caught on to that yet. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Saw Gravity yesterday. IT IS AWESOME! I can’t imagine Sandra NOT winning an Oscar for her performance. It was THAT good. That being said, I found it to be an emotionally draining movie. I’m not too proud to say I prefer comedies and movies like Thor, Man of Steel, Iron Man and the Avengers. lol. REAL emotions get a bit overwhelming for me … and Gravity WAS overwhelming for me. The cinematography is phenominal and even makes you feel a bit queasy, as if you are in space yourself. CRAZY good movie.

@Togi:Another thought on “Gravity.” Sandra’s performance should serve as a text-book lesson to up and coming actors and actresses on how NOT to overact. I was blown away by her portrayal of the situation her character was in. Just remembering all the times I’ve seen actors/actresses screaming and freaking out, Sandra’s quietness gave me chills. Unbelievable.

I believe my father is with us still in spirit as there are times when I/we still feel his presence strongly. I enlarged three photos of her wearing that rather oversized, baggy suit jacket and when she received a hug from the gentleman you could see her tummy was in the way. It’s so obvious that Jen is at least 4 maybe 5 months along imo. A first pregnancy doesn’t show as much which is why I think she is so far along. She is smart not to announce it though – can you imagine the furvor and stalking by paps if she did? She’d never get to enjoy it and this way, it’s a special time shared between she and Justin. BTW – a lot of people are speculating they quietly married back in Feb ( her birthday) …..time will prove us right, or wrong. wink!!@Guest2:

There was a period where I had a strong connection with dogs. Example: I was at a popular beach. I was jogging along the shoreline. A pretty, young lady was passing by, with her young dog cuddled in her arms. Well, the dog broke loose and ran after me and then, beside me. Its frantic owner was calling it, to no avail. So I did the proper thing, and made a loop, and returned the dog to its emotional owner.

I’d go to a canyon to do some heavy commuting with Mother Nature. And there were nature lovers there as well. One could take several trails to assure more privacy. One can do some deep thinking while feeling the atmosphere. Here, dogs would communicate. One was a pit bull. He and his owner came out of the darkened woods. I was heading to a water fountain. The dog came up to me and hung around. His young owner commanded him to come to the car. He started to the car, turned around, and came back to me, as I was bent over to drink. He looked up at me, and in the darkness, he looked very happy. Then, his owner became more firm when he called. This time, the pit bull went all the way to the car.

Same canyon. It rained some around that time. Had crossed a creek via big stones placed strategically. Young owner of a couple small dogs. One was this beagle who came back to where I was, and was going to follow me, even as his owner called him. The beagle looked expectantly at me across the 3-foot stretch of water, and I knew better than to walk away. I stood still until the owner came and picked up his dog.

    @WR:
Interesting……this happens to my husband also. It happens everywhere we go and many times the dog owners say they are surprised that their dog(s) behave like they do towards my husband. I think it’s a good thing.

    @Up the Coast:
Glad to hear others experience the same.

Same canyon. Got to know an owner, because of his two black dogs. They both would run to me from afar, and I got an introduction to them by their master. So we started a good friendship. Alas, one day the younger one was missing. Upon asking, I learned he was killed by a car. But the older one still always greets me.

I just looked at Ian’s twitter and saw that Patty Anne asked him if Jen is pregnant. He said he is reserving judgment on that. So I guess that’s not the blockbuster. We’re back to brangie then? Waiting.

I think Jen seem out of the radar at the moment. She didn’t attend her usual event, and her friend Jennifer Mayer, publish old picture of them..mmmm..hope there is a good news.
