I love that Kate is our IUC person of the year. I almost gave up on this site when I first started coming here, totally not getting any of the clues, but Kate welcomed me, answered my questions and “taught me the ropes”. Merry Christmas Kate.

Once again, Happy Holidays to all of you ! And congratulation Kate ! You deserv the title as “IUC person of the year”. But there are many of you who are very clever and are able to see Ian´s clues from the right angle.
In Europe we has eaten our christmas dinner, watched “Donald Duck and his friends” and have opened our christmas gifts. Perhaps not all europeans. I actually don´t know about the countries outside Scandinavia. Life feels very good. It´s evening and most of us are very tired after an intece day. Now we can rest and think about the world outside. There are too many people who not are able to celebrate because of wars and hunger. We have to help them as good as we can.
The cartoon is funny ! It´s very fun to meet you all here. Have a good time until we get a new clue or riddle !

I’ve been here for about a year and I think this site is awesome, not only for the brangiffer riddles and clues but because of the very smart and funny people who come here. ReplyHi Tetta, I am of Italian heritage and our big celebration is on Christmas Eve. That is when we open presents and have the big feast of the seven fishes and go to midnight Mass. It’s beautiful to to be out at night and see all the houses all lit up with Christmas lights. See you all later.

ReplyHello Tetta! Loved your descriptions of a Scandinavian Christmas. Wish we got those Disney cartoons here too – I know the ones you mean. Instead, the only constant we have here is the Queen’s speech at 3pm every 25th December. She addresses the Commonwealth with a review of the year and it is usually deadly dull! Unlike a lot of Europe, here in the UK we celebrate on Christmas Day, the 25th, and have a big turkey/goose/whatever you like to eat and Christmas pudding for lunch or dinner (after pulling Christmas crackers) and exchange presents in the morning or afternoon. Most of us are slumped in a drunken stupor watching Christmas specials on the telly by late afternoon or evening, often after a walk (this year, Dr Who, Absolutely Fabulous, Downton Abbey). There’s usually a James Bond film on sometime too. On the 24th, we have a Crib Service in the afternoon in church, when the local children put on a play of the Christmas story and everyone sings Christmas Carols, which really puts you in the festive mood. Boxing Day ,26th, is a big day for going to watch sports matches or for shopping, as the sales are on. We eat cold turkey etc and especially ham and have trifle for pudding. Groan! All that food I am about to consume!

I watch a lot of the old classics and I used to think she over exagerated her femininity but put that down to the times. alif would know about this, when he returns we should ask him. He has a huge group of film friends. I do remember she “found” Cary Grant. Hello everybody. A quiet Christmas celebration this year – thanking God for everything He has done.
Last night was a movie night – watched Forrest Gump (again) – what a sweet movie. Also watched War of the Worlds with TCruise (again) – the first time it didn’t creep me out but this time it was really creepy to me. That’s about it.

I think there are more like that to come. I was reading some comments from the loons at ff about how successul aj’s movie is. It opened in three theaters and made $18,000+. That’s a hit I guess in their eyes. They made fun of Jen’s TV movie that was viewed by millions and aj’s movie was viewed by less than 5,000 and they’re screaming success. Go figure.
I don’t know what got into angelooney, maybe a little too much good cheer. Or maybe it wasn’t really her but someone posing as her.

siska, i have watched up through season 2 episode 2 of ‘offspring’. omg, nina and her damn daydreams! i really thought for a brief shining moment that she and doc hottie were really kissing amongst the balloons. he isn’t back yet on season 2 but i’m waiting. mick looks soooo much better with his natural looking hair. why the heck nina’s sis and mick didnt stay in her house he was landscaping is beyond me, why stay at nina’s??? the scene of the crime??? i hope he is done singing cuz it grates on me. and i wish everyone would put their cell fone on vibrate, watching those episodes back to back with all the annoying fone jingles and sounds going off 300 times at least was making my bp rise. it was almost as bad as a crying baby every time. but i really like the show. right now, i’d say i prefer the peaceful quiet of downton abbey for my fated couple fix. i love nina tho.

Everyone has different opinions at different times. I’ve been besties with the cool kids and i’ve been called a snake by the same now. It doesn’t matter – i know who i am. And like you i admit to what i say. If i talk about you, i’ll own it. And i’ve seen people on here change — from being spirited and feisty to towing the party line…it sucks.
I was part of the “private” site and i know the things they said about people here, about Mel…even about Ian…. i have never agreed that Ian is the end all be all ….and frankly i doubt Ian cares about my opinion. But i do value what some people think on here…..its better than FF where its completely one sided and other sites as well.

Let me first say, the blog was never closed to spite or hurt and as punishment to anyone.I have no idea what you are talking about in regards to posting passwords on here because each person had their own, and I could see each person as they signed in, so could Patty, UTC and Stella were also admins, and it would have been impossible for that to have made a difference, so I am in the dark on that comment. Not sure where you came up with that idea, but it is not true. I closed it for several reasons. We had several deaths in the family and another very ill with lung cancer that recently passed, and my business partner had some private affairs that required me to be more involved again. It was not running as smoothly because I could not be around as much, had not been posting and a few legal things had been brought to my attention. There is always a back story that many are not aware of.My mother’s health had deteriorated, she had been in and out of the hospital. It was a choice Patty and I made, after I consulted with my husband, and attorney( I was advised against it from the start and should have listened) I had reason, whether you understand or not.
I have not ever picked on Siska, she is darling, the sweetest and nicest and most fair person to all the players involved, never has a unkind word to say about anyone, I have posted with her for years. I adore her and those who know me well know that. It is really unkind of you insinuate otherwise and to lead her or anyone to believe that. Archives do not lie.I have never been catty about anyone, again archives do not lie.I am always honest about my feelings,to the person, first and foremost. Whatever it is you think you understand you might consider that I have know many of these people for years, and I am straight about my feelings. If there is a misunderstanding, or I am upset or they are , we discuss. It may have been in a email, not here, not there, but it was discussed. I am totally disheartened by these accusations against Kate and the members of her now defunct private blog. You have got to be kidding me. If others feel the need to make fun of faceless posters behind their backs, well I think it’s really kind of sad that they don’t have anything more productive to do with their time. I come here for one reason, to catch up on and discuss with others the latest brangie shenanigans (and I spend way too much time doing it I might add). I don’t know Ian’s reasons for making kate IUC person of the year nor do I know anything about kate. But it’s his blog and his prerogative and he did thank us for ou support. All I can know is that when I ask kate questions she answers them and when I ask her to intervene with Ian for a new thread we get a new thread. What she or others may or may not say outside this blog is of no interest to me but I also understand that the people who have been here supporting Ian for a long time might not feel the same way.

After all, one is responsible for their words. Over time I came to know the women of the private blog. Yes subjects turned to a personal nature. We were horrified when one poster’s dog was viciously attacked, upset when another poster’s daughter was bullied, worried for those on the East Coast with the hurricane. Kate and Patty Anne had posted rules, basically rules of common courtesy that most of us here at Ian’s try to follow., just respect for another person and their opinion. Yes, some violated the rules of common courtesy and privacy and chose not to continue their membership when they were reminded by the administrators of the blog of the rules. I do remember reading a comment that AW was hilarious. I do remember someone asking if Siska was an insider. I do remember someone commenting that Rushdog was insightful. And I do remember someone commenting they liked Armitage’s posts. I remember some comments that some agreed with “so & so’s” post over at IUC. We were asked that we be respectful of Ian on the private blog and his. We were asked to be respectful of Mel’s blog. We were simply asked to be adults.

Christmas is a bright time most of the years. But sometimes christmas collide with the real world, our everyday world. Some of you have lost near and dear ones recently. My father passed away today ten years ago. But in some way it was possible for me and my family to combine christmas and death. We took our own time to worry and grief and we were allowed to make a joke and laugh. It was a relief when it was over the 26th of December 8.45 pm. How I wish I have had my friends at this privat blog at that time. I had got a lot of support and comfort. It´s that way the privat blog works. It did so when Kate was the head of it and it still does now when other women had taken over it. Sometimes we say something nasty but in the same sentence we ask for forgivness. The longer the time passes by the more uninteresting the objects we are suposed to gossip about becomes. The Brand comes in the second hand. First of all we are great friends. It´s not what AW describes. We don´t always have a united opinion. But that´s ok. Let us all go on. IUC is a great site. There is a big portion of friendship even here. There is space enough for both blogs. We don´t need to argue about that.

Hi UTC, it is sad to lose a loved one. I always am amazed at how easy the world forgets a person , except for their immediate circle, life goes on. It is so important to love them while they are with us.

Keeping the triangle going…yeah that’s it. The more I think about this stuff, the more I’m convinced that a good part of both relationships was business mergers encouraged by tptb for financial and control purposes. Haven’t really figured in his other two previous highly public relationships yet. I’m thinking merger on them too, although I don’t think any of the women were in on the game initially except for AJ. Not to say there wasn’t care involved between him and his significan other of the moment, but I think it’s always been about moving HIM up in HW and distracting the public/media from his…private interests. okay will try to relay what happened. i went back and rewatched to be sure.
the police ask constance what happened. instead of just hearing her story we also see what really happened.
we heard her say she found ben and went looking for violet and the baby. she did not find them and supposed that violet ran off with the baby.
what we saw was her finding bed hanged, seeing violets body, and the baby missing. we also saw her talk to ben and ask where the baby was.
thats were the confusion is and you are not the only person to say so. the back and forth between what constance saw and what she said.

I just noticed your comment. Thanks for taking the time to say what you did. I judge the posters on this site based on the comments I read here. Other than the loons and some who tried to derail things I have never (until yesterday) found any disrespect directed toward me by the regular posters here and I know I’ve said some dumb things that embarrassed me when I re-read them. As for Kate, I feel that a few times I made a nuisance of myself by asking her numerous questions about what she meant by a comment or what she thought about something but she always patiently answered and she got Ian to give us new threads and clues when we’ve asked so I can’t say or feel anything negative about her.
It’s unfortunate that grown women who were part of the private blog felt it necessary to stir up trouble at this site for their own personal reasons but Patty Anne’s post shed some light on the subject so I think I’m getting the picture.
I like IUC and I enjoy reading most of the comments, even those from the pro-brangie camp (other than bs -that one is sick). I’ll continue to post here for as long as people are nice to me (there, now you know how to get rid of me

I’ve said that before but it really does puzzle me how they get away it. I was wondering if they will adopt another child next year. Here’s one theory of how the phrase originated:
Origin
It isn’t at all obvious why ‘handbasket’ was chosen as the preferred vehicle to convey people to hell. One theory on the origin of the phrase is that derives from the use of handbaskets in the guillotining method of capital punishment. If Hollywood films are to be believed, the decapitated heads were caught in baskets – the casualty presumably going straight to hell, without passing Go.
The first version of ‘in a handbasket’ in print does in fact relate to an imaginary decapitated head.

ReplyHi Rush, thank you, my family thought if we kept busy it would make times feel lighter, Mission Impossible was distracting with some incredible stunts,we liked it. War Horse, beautiful and captivating, but I had to close my eyes through many scenes and when they were not closed I was crying, we all were. SS really made a heart wrenching wonderful film.We loved it, probably should have chosen a comedy though. Let me know what you think of it. My favorite so far.

AW is being a poor sport about Kate’s award – it is all coming across as sour grapes. I refuse to be upset by something I haven’t seen (Kate’s private blog) and I don’t see how she can backstab anyone in an anonymous community – we really don’t know anything about each other.
AW is the one who gave out her email address to saxxm. Then she came to this blog to complain about saxxm’s racist emails. No one knew what she was referring to but a lot of us backed her. The fact that AW has forgotten that seems like backstabbing to me.
Now AW is trying to turn this board against Kate (of all people). I am not going to respond to something I have never seen and now does not exist.
Then AW says that nobody returned her Thanksgiving wishes even though some posters went back and did not find any posts from AW on Thanksgiving.
I think we can only have opinions from things we see or read firsthand. I’m not going to get riled up about phantom posts.

Just got back from War Horse. I really, really liked the film. Thought it was a little slow at the beginning and kind of wondered if we were watching some type of Disney rated G flick. But it picks up as it goes along and if you like horses it’s great, and the film gets you in the end. It’s beautifully filmed. SS is so good with war scenes and he really does depict the reality of WWI no man’s land and the trenches (from what I’ve read about it!).
My husband commented that, though he enjoyed the film, he didn’t think it was the best film of the year. I asked him why he would think it was and he said because it’s been nominated for awards. I told him there was more to these awards than the film. I saw a show on A&E this weekend, a fame/celebrity-type program, which was about (among others) Heath Ledger. A journalist commented that when you’re nominated for an academy award the result is similar to campaigning for political office, lots of meeting/greeting and hand-shaking, parties and film showings.

ReplyI really really liked it too. One review pointed out that these men went to war and chose to serve but the horses did not. Just as I would find myself choking for Joey someones son would die. SS balanced the emotion so beautifully between man and survival. I loved the stories that were all woven together by the compassion and love of one magnificient horse. I understand what your husband means. I did not think Kings Speech was a best picture. People loved Midnight in Paris, I thought it was silly. I liked The Help, great acting, but I am not sure that is enough for a Best Picture. You are right, it is all about the campaign. I wonder why the OSCAR curse hits some so hard. Maybe it is how…

Hello Kate ! No I havn´t seen the US version of TGWTDT. I´m a bit childish when it comes to that movie. I have a feeling that the US version in some way should destroy the swedish one. My son and I argued about it yesterday. He was on his way to see another movie but I don´t now wich one. However, he ended our argument with saying that all US movies are plagiarism. I do not agree with him but I had to laugh and think of ITLOBAH. My son will soon be 25 years and he knows everything. I think that stage would be over by now but obviously not. The weather has gone crazy in many parts of the world. It hash´t been below 0° C in Sweden and it´s soon january. A few snowflakes but they melt before they hit the ground. Of course it happens that a day or two are warmer than usually in a normal winter but never two months. Both November and December have been warmer than ever. i just saw the lemonade pix. gosh i see so much time truly has gone by, it goes so fast it seems impossible that so much time goes by til you see pix like that. those kids are growing like weeds. her kids look happy almost always.
ReplyI am a southerner louisiana girl – also quite a bit of Am.Indian. I have survived in some pretty serious situations – one reason is because I can be very, very stubborn, and also because I have built in instincts. I recommend to everyone to at least ‘think’ of primitive ways to survive, and whoever is “not right with God” to get it right (heard that from many people lately).
As far as aliens are concerned, I guess you could say I am on the fence sort of. I have, however, by accident come across some eyewitness testimony. One guy is no longer alive – he got cancer from his work as some sort of engineer working for the military in underground “things”. He went around the country (sorry can’t recall his name right now) holding conferences regarding his experiences in caves and what he accidentally saw and was injured by. I’ve seen/heard his videos. I’ll try to find it, if I can, later.
Over the summer there were loads and loads of trains and trucks filled with lots and lots of food and supplies and they were definitely unloading in some caves. I cannot rectify that at all in my mind, esp. the amount of stuff they were deliverying in the mid-west states with lots of caves. Like I said, I am still on the fence.
The goulie movies -like the one Brad made – what’s the names of those things? Mmm, starts with a g but not goulie – God help me. The technology that is out there that we don’t know about, or that main stream media has not shared is mind blowing.
The Nazis that we were told were tried, hung or moved to Guatamala or someplace are all lies. They are, it is stated, right here in the USA, planning our demise (can’t kill God’s children without permission) in the shadows. Those old guys have lived to their 90s and are still alive and healthy due to their miraculous studies they did on the Jews. Some of those guys have taken a huge part in the programming of mind control victims for decades. They did, in fact, come here, I have read for their knowledge on such abominable actions. They have new names, identities and plastic surgeries that we, in essence, paid for.
I have learned this stuff from reading on the internet for years. I have had the time to do it. I still have a great sense of humor after all that is said and done. I don’t mean to sound like a know-it-all when I speak of these things, I just want all people to be awake so there are no surprises to cause anyone to have a heart attack or something. God is able. He knows everything from the beginning to the end and these creeps just are funny to me because they are trying to outgod God with their secrets, manipulation of weather and other things like earthquakes and the like. It’s just funny when I think about it because God is soooo big and finite. They are fools.
Now that I’ve said all of that, I’ve gotta go see about things down the road at mama’s. I will take my computer there sooner or later.

Angelina Jolie has decided to buy a property in Los Angeles so her father can bond with his grandchildren.
The actress and her partner Brad Pitt raise six children together and there are rumours another baby could be on the way.
Angelina’s relationship with her father Jon Voight has been tumultuous in the past, but they are now getting on better. She is keen for him to play a role in her kids’ lives so wants him to spend more time with them.

When my kids were in school, we lived up in the Bay Area and they had a cool store at the mall called Discovery….I think, I used to buy them cool stuff from there. I haven’t seen a store like that around here (but I don’t really go looking). They also had an awesome Science Museum for kids up there, in the city, that we went to a couple times.

ReplyI wonder which one of them screamed that at her, and was it in French? LOL She is her own worst enemy and hasn’t a clue about parenting, which I suspect is why she continues to ring up her mother in most interviews. Her mother’s long time friend disolved any illusion there may have been about who was the better parent, and it was not her mom. It will be interesting to see what she tries to do , bribes? perhaps to keep the older boys living out of the suitcase that she so adamently declares is just fine with them and she has no intentions of settling down. Ok. Lol we will see about that in about 4 years. ya.no clue.

Yesterday I saw some “behind the scene´s ” pictures. It was fun to see the actors as they look for real. Matthew is so sweet, he has a certain glimpse in his eye. Now it´s only to wait for the third season. There are some drama left to be solved.

ReplyI have seen a few trust few kids scream FU to their parents and take off in their 100k sports car. If those kids do not respect them by the time they are 16 years old, she can reflect back on the days she locked herself in a hotel for weeks or on the streets of L.A. or when she fell into her mothers arms close to her demise , or, when she cut herself so badly she had to be taken to emergency. Brad may think he can control them, but he at that time respected his parents, but she should know where HER kids are headed . Why does she say that? Brad is so good to MY girls. I love DA and can’t wait til it resumes on the 8th but I loved Lark Rise to Candleford too and the BBC cancelled that in order to show DA so its bittersweet! Bates, the Valet, had a starring role on Lark Rise but then the last season he was “out of town working” and then when DA came on I saw why! He had jumped ship – but I really like him as a character and I hope the plot line “downstairs” continue to surprise as well

ReplyDream that was a sweet sentiment, I hope 2012 is better for you, filled with more freedom and much happiness. I was watching something on all those suffered hardships across the nation and we truly forget how many suffer.
You look at parents of these innocent babes, they duct taped their babies up and hung them upside down on Facebook , and they say they were JOKING? In what world do these parents live in? Were they high? Who does that? Those and the ones who made the false spaceship and reported their son missing so it would make news? Do I have that right? These folks have no sense of reality, what your life is like, what many suffer in loss home or limb, life. They need to sit in at Compassionate Friends, volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House, be forced to do some community service in the local morgue after New Years Eve, visit the children in the burn units, and worse. Still laughing. Bet not, their mug shot looked like they may have gotten the hint.
What is disturbing is Brange could do some similar stunt and not one person would blink, in fact it would be defended. The dead bird story was even hailed as some cute bonding experience between Mother and child.

Happy New Year!!!! its already happened here in the UK! i saw the most spectacular fireworks display on tv that was happening in London, so already a great start!
i have no resolutions expect to be and think positive everyday, laugh everyday and have fun, and also to forget whatevers in the past and never think about it again…..
and hopefully a great year for us on IUC, hopefully Ian will have some fantastic clues for uas and we can get started all over again! lol, and lets hope brange get what they deserve this year and its a amazing year for jen she deserves it as always.
