I didn’t watch the show but it’s kind of hard to actually hate him. His crazy is right out there for all to see and he doesn’t pretend to be something he isn’t. He said he was winning and I guess he was if he got a roast and a new show. I wonder if he’ll play himself on that one too.

It really pays to be a psycho drug addict.

This was “swept under the rug”:
His ex-wife, Denise Richards, in a heated moment, revealed that Charlie owns gay porn, as well as nude pictures of children.
We don”t want to hear that stuff. We’d rather be fans.
Ian, in your show, he looks wasted. But in the roast film, he looks healthy. Maybe he is “winning”.
Sheen’s “apology and well-wishes to his past co-workers” seemed very calculated. But it was a good career move. If it was intended to hurt the show; it didn’t, so far. “Two and a Half Men” scored big ratings last night.

Nude pictures of children is very disturbing if it’s true. I’d never heard that. I would his denise richards is cautious about leaving her daughters with him. I saw a clip of his apology but that’s it and I thought it was okay. I was stunned when I read about the settlement with the two and a half men show. He derserved to be fired. I wonder why they settled. I missed the show last night but it has a good supporting cast and while I’m not a fan of kutcher’s I think he will be good for the show.

As I stated, it was “swept under the rug”. It was on an entertainment talk show. Just that once. Unless someone kept a copy for sale or whatever, it’s probably not going to be seen again.
He had a contract which WB had to honor. So he will make 100 million without being in the show.
What did he do in the show? Was it hard work? As I recall, he mainly sat on a couch, mouthed words while crossing his bare legs. Now and then he walked around.

Thankfully, the public was curious enough to check out the show last night. The rest is up to the creative team!

I watched Two and a Half Men last night. The first half was good…I enjoyed seeing some of Chuck Lorre’s past characters, like Dharma and Greg (and two other characters from that show). I’ve noticed that Chuck hires the same actors over and over in his projects and that’s very cool, imo.

i like charlie and really am not interested in watching the new show. but wish them luck. at least he is not blaming the x for his stupidity and bad mouthing off about them. as for denise richards can’t stand the woman and would not believe everything she says like( miss jolie) unless accompanied by a lie detector . wish charlie all the best and hope he overcomes his problems. but then he should know happiness is overated

It is depressing to me that actors, athletes, and reality ’stars’ get paid so much for doing so little. I suppose the least offensive is athletes, since they at least have to endure tough training and risk physical harm, but often I just seem them as people in odd clothes running around in large rectangles pursuing a sphere-like object for reasons I don’t care about.

The only solace (or perhaps Schadenfreude on my part) is that celebrities have ways of blowing through huge amounts of money very quickly. So while they may get paid a lot, it goes out pretty quickly to other people doing real jobs, like to carpenters helping a celebrity to build an unreasonably big house, or to caterers hired for a celebrity’s third large party that month. Or maybe these are all fictions I tell myself . . .

I did not see that roast. I saw some snippets of it today though. Poor Charlie has been rezapped, hasn’t he? They zapped him back into submission. Does anyone see (hiding in plain sight) what they do to these people, esp. multigenerational families?

Frankly, I don’t think that roast was funny (the parts that I saw and read about). It’s right there in front of our eyes. It’s like night and day. His programming went haywire. I don’t know how I feel about it really. I think if they hadn’t gotten him into “rehab” as they call it for celebs, they would have knocked him off and blamed drugs. As we recall, he didn’t want to “go to rehab” –and I see why not now. BTW, neither did Amy Winehouse) So what’s worse, being a controlled MK or being dead?

I like the guy. I feel for him as well as others. I’m just tired of these evil people making it look like it’s always a drug problem and then blaming things solely on that.

And that’s all I’m gonna say about that. Forest Gump

    @I’m on the bidet:
Yes, and athletes pay so much more for the money they get when they start to age. Football players, for example the quarterbacks, suffer many health problems as they age. All that pounding for a long period. Mother Nature hasn’t yet built protective tissues for all the hits they get from huge tackles!
Boxers also pay dearly in later years for all those years of punches. Their brains does have a protective cover, but repeated blows eventually causes premature aging!
So they’ll need the money if they saved any.
My hunch is that they feel guilty for getting so much money. Remember Charlie blowing big money for baseball memorabilia. And the “goddesses”! Jmo!
The part of the roast I saw, the comedian at the podium was sucking up to Charlie, even while he was supposed to be roasting Charlie. It seemed more like light toasting.
As Whoopi Goldberg reminds us, a roast is not meant for the public’s participation. Oh, well!

OT: Most Alaskans will soon get 1, 174 just for existing there.
They get an annual check. Not in the same league as actors, but it’s not gonna be refused, that’s for sure!

  16. alif said on September 21st, 2011 at 2:02 am

    I meant to say 1, 174 dollars.

@jan: I agree with your take as well. Charlie knows for him to survive “ALIVE” in Hollywood, he has to dance to that BIG MAFIA’S MUSIC…

I read that Denise Richards said she caught him looking at gay porn, nothing about owning it. Nothing at all said about kiddie porn either.

  19. jan said on September 21st, 2011 at 6:48 pm

Yep. And many more of them. I heard someone say recently – it’s better just to ask oneself who in Hollyweird ISN’T one of them.

Denise needs to hush her mouth. She certainly does not live in a glass house.

She sold out as well. And trying to pass it on to the kids. Shut up Denise.

Just watched CS interview with Wendy Williams over at youtube. He REALLY does NOT remember what all he did prior to getting “realigned”. I am a recovering person and have been for years. I have NEVER seen anything like this in my years of recovery. Point? His prob is NOT drugs/alcohol. Nope. Nope. Nope.

i haven’t watched charlie’s yet, i went to youtube to watch and was sidetracked by donald trump’s roast. the clips were hilarious!! and i’d love to chillax with snoop dog. i think.
trump’s had to be the best roast ever, tho i have seen them in the past and didn’t try to watch anymore because they were dull dull dull like brad pitt.

Take a bunch of relatively unknown D-list would-be comics, give them a microphone and an easy target and you will soon get into “CAN YOU TOP THIS ” vugar and unclever performances. Notice that they had to show WHO these comics are with their name under the screen. Each one was trying to be more shocking than the last, but in the end it was a miserable failure. The program creators should trash this format and get back to talented clever (not just foul mouth ) profesional comics and writters. They cannot reproduce the old Dean Martin Roasts because the comics are not up to the talent level needed.

did anybody see on Wendy Williams that he said Kelly Preston tried to kill herself to get out of their relationship and then Sheen backtracked and sarcastically said “Oh, she’s a NICE woman” (possibly making fun of her comments about him being a nice guy).

looks like the genie’s out of the bottle…
