Adieu Meredith Vieira – You will be Missed!!!!!

When I worked with Meredith in L.A. at the MJ memorial it was an incredible experience. She’s one of a kind, in a class of her own! What a brilliant interviewer and a first class human being. We’ll all miss you Meredith. Thanks for all the years of quality TV!!!!

I like her. She just seems like a good person. I think I read once that she has an ill husband. I hope he’s doing well now.

I don’t know who’s taking her place?

I like her too. She and Matt Lauer seem to have a nice chemistry. I read that she was leaving to spend more time with her sick husband (I thought I read he has cancer but not certain of that). I think Ann Curry is replacing her.

Good picture Ian – I bet you’re glad to have it now that she is retiring. I really like her warmth and humanity – she seems genuine unlike Katie Couric who I always thought was looking for the bigger fish.

I read something recently about her – in People magazine, yes, that’s where! She says after so many years of getting up at 2:30am every morning that she’s had her fill and wants to start living a more regular routine. Her husband is sick, but apparently he’s been sick for like 20 years and nothing has changed in his illness. She says it is not because of her husband and in fact she does not do alot for him and doesn’t plan to start doing more. Maybe she’ just sick of the pace and wants a break after making her millions!! I agree she seems very grounded, intelligent, likeable. Nice!

I just wanted to correct myself…her husband has MS and he’s written a book about it. Here’s the link to
the story. In addition to the all the other nice things about her she’s still a natural beauty, wrinkles and all. That’s rare in show biz these days.

I enjoyed Meredith while she was on The View, so much so that when she left I stopped watching The View which seemed to have become rather one sided after that. I thought her humanity and warmth shone through with Matt, she seems so genuine and caring rather than out to make a name for herself. Sorry to see her go, but happy for her to finally have somewhat of a normal life now. Farewell Meredith~!

i used to feel sorry for her on the view. and she had to put up with that entitled diva nut-case star jones. she said after she left the show she did not watch again except for the day star jones jumped ship or got squeeeezed off. hahahahahaha!
i remember her on a news mag show called ‘west 57th’ yearzzz ago, fresh faced and beautiful.

I will miss Meredith, I have watched her every morning. She was so funny alongside Martha Stewart. They are such complete opposites….they should have their own show!

Meredith really is a class act. I hate to see her leave. On a side note, my daughter met Ann Curry and said that she was just as sweet in person, too.

Ann Curry is the one who interviewed brad (at cannes, maybe) a couple of years ago and had her hands all over his face. I still like her though.

Meredith has she such a warmth about her, and honesty. She has had a long and successful and diverse career. What is she doing next? She is not actually retiring is she. I thought she was going to remain with the network in some capacity. Nice photo Ian.

From what I’ve heard her say…..she wants to spend some time with her husband, while he is still healthy enough to enjoy it. I think that all of their kids are in college and out of the house. She still hosts Who Wants to be a Millionaire….doesn’t she?.
