IUC World Exclusive: Oprah Took The Chemical Approach, source says

Posted on December 9th, 2010 by HisHighness in IUC:Entertainment, IUC:Exclusive

OprahCryingOprah’s crying on Barbara Walters show was chemically induced, according to a former employee of Oprah’s show. “She wanted to make the interview as dramatic as possible so she could promote her new tv station,” the source told IUC. “Her tears were fake. She put a chemical in her eye to make her cry. She has used that technique before on her show.” Develping….

Heh, it makes me cry when I compare Oprah’s annual income to my own, with no chemicals required (unless vodka afterwards counts). Maybe I should get my own talk show, but that I’m too shy . . . it would be the first talk show where the host hid behind the couch and passed over written questions.

And here is what is making AJ cry – poor reviews of ‘The Tourist’, with only 17% of critics approving’:

Those comments are hilarious – and they’re right this film is an embarrassment to all concerned, particularly the otherwise super-credible Jonny Depp! He really must have needed the dosh. Funny that Vanessa didn’t show up for the NY premiere hey? Maybe she was as embarrassed for them as we are….

I wish this woman would retire for good. I’m so tired of this painful countdown – where I live we’re a year behind so I’ve been hearing about her final season for what seems like a slow turning century. But you just know she’s scheming for bigger ways to further monopolize her stranglehold in the field. That’s the thing with O – there’s always an agenda. To paraphrase what Bill Hicks said re: Jay Leno, she’s just another corporate whore at the capitalist gangbang.

It will be interesting to see the box office results. Depp is such a busy actor I wonder why he had to do this film – as a favor to King? Was that it? Hmmm, I find it curious…this film, the directorial debut…were these so someone could get their shiit together? I completely missed that Vanessa was not at the premier, or at least wasn’t photographed on the RC.

Regarding Oprah, not so surprising if what Ian posted is true. I can appreciate where she came from, “growing up colored in Mississippi,” educating herself and building a company. That’s the best part of her. I think at some point most of these high profile, very successful types start believing their own hype. As much as I can criticize Jolie, Oprah is the queen of self-promotion. I recall the big car give away on her show a few years ago. That was promoted with Oprah sitting on the top (thru the sunroof?) with her arms in the air and I thought to myself, “oh please, enough already.” What starts out as good and genuine inevitably turns into just marketing and they all buy into it.

Oprah did a very good show, yesterday. It was about the 25th anniversary of a show she did about an aids victim in a small town in the state of West Virginia. He was a very brave man who stood out in an ignorant world, which most of us occupy.
It was about the impact his courage had on those who condemned him in the name of religion back then.
    Kudos to Opray for that!

AJ has bigger name than JD..I had to admit it.
I still wonder too why JD want to play on this role when he already got plenty of dough..maybe because the director?..or BP?…JD already admit he never met AJ before.
Both star are miscast in this movies, I watch the original version..and its not really a big screen type movies, more DVD type style,so maybe the HW version need 2 big star to made it to big screen, eventhough the story line quite lame.

Well there’s got to be a humanitarian trip coming soon and a bunch more child photo ops, maybe she and Brad will have a romantic dinner again in Rome, Berlin. You have to wonder about King’s judgement here with both the Tourist and the Bosnian film. The recent article, was it in Vanity Fair, where the writer talks about gazing at her beauty. I think that some people are drawn into all that. That’s got to be a part of it. Didn’t SR post once about “deceptive charm?”

I’m a bit perplexed by the box office on this one. You would think with the “supposed” fan base for both Jolie and Depp that alone would have been a larger take. Looks like it wasn’t a great box office weekend all around. I have to say I was surprised that Salt did as well as it did, so the turnaround here is interesting.

    @rushdog:

Yep, of course, predictable as clockwork, problem is it just doesn’t garner the same level of interest any more. The number of comments on the pages of popular, middle-of-the-road newspapers such as TDM says it all I think. They used to get 100’s of comments per post, now they are lucky if they get about 40, sometimes less. The most commented on subject is actually Shiloh’s supposed gender confusion, because it is the only thing that is controversial. Everything else just doesn’t raise any interest.

Jolie has always been Queen of the Tabs to me, not Queen of the Movie Screens. I know the two things tend to go hand in hand these days but just because you have the first doesn’t mean you will get the last. People who will spend a couple of quid on a mag to find out someone’s dirt will not necessarily pay more like £10 to see someone act (or try to!). That’s the thing I think people (producers included) don’t quite get about Jolie – her career is founded on her private life, not her acting success. A one-off fluke Oscar massively aided and abetted by all of daddy’s board of selection committee chums does not a super star make. She has always marketed herself on her private life, take away that and you have a very thin CV indeed.

And as for Graham King well all I can say is times are very, very tough in the television industry in the UK right now – god alone knows what it is like to be in film – no matter how credible your CV. In a way it might even work against him – BAFTA winning documentary makers are not doing as well as producers of run of the mill factual entertainment in this climate, it’s probably not too dissimilar in film. According to the people I was working with in an investment bank briefly the money fell out of film production in the UK the moment the credit crunch hit. They were trying to find someone to fund the second half of the Bond film while I was there. So if times are tough for James Bond it’s not a stretch to think times are tough for Graham King either. Plus there is very little advertising work around these days, and Soho rents have gone through the roof. So all in all what I think you find is one hard-up producer desperately trying to make enough money to pay his kids’ school fees, same as everyone else these days. He just picked the wrong horse that’s all – probably because he is out of touch with public opinion. If he’s tuning in it might be worth him taking a few notes re: interest in Angelina Jolie. I think it can at best be described as indifference, at worst, disdain. He should have gone for that Robert Pattinson fella, or just some generic vampire shit – that’s where the money is these days, not the two old fogies and their increasingly less photogenic brood. Unfair statement about Australia. It’s a pluralist culture and conservative in some minor ways, but it’s tolerant of many different cultural backgrounds.

I lived in Nashville in the late 70s when Oprah was still a fat Afro’d newscaster there. I also attended her college briefly. She had wonderful presence in front of the camera for such a young woman and had many friends at WSM and its satellite companies. Without Dan Miller and other pros, she would be nowhere today. But she did have genuine charisma and sincerity in those days and was an outstanding on-air personality. She would have been a standout anywhere. So sad to see that vast wealth has completely changed her. She’s building some new $50 million mansion in the Midwest somewhere and gauges everything in life by its monetary value. Sick.

And she has no meaningful education, really. She lacks real analytical ability and so will always go for the cheap, emotional shot rather than provide a real educational benefit to her viewers. What a waste.

No surprise at all that she might resort to tricks to manipulate her audience. Her confessional schtick is very stale by now even to her.

While I’m always a bit confused, today it is more pronounced than usual thanks to the Golden Globe nomination list, where ‘The Tourist’ has a nomination for ‘Musical or Comedy’, AJ has a nomination for ‘Actress in a Musical or Comedy’, and Depp has a nomination for’ Actor in a Musical or Comedy’.
    http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/b216147_complete_list_of_2011_golden_globe.html

I thought that ‘The Tourist’ is neither a musical nor a comedy? Well, there is the inherent comedy of watching AJ try to act . . . has anyone seen the film, and can speak to any musical or comedic content? Or are the Golden Globes people just wanting AJ and Depp to show up at the ceremony?

I think Sony is in full promotion mode trying to earn its money back thus the appearance of both J & D in Berlin actually being photographed together. And these nominations for a film that was so critically panned in the press, including the performances of both actors, really makes me wonder about the behind the scenes deals made to ensure profit and ratings. If the movie isn’t really that bad then you have to wonder about the extreme comments of the critics. I would think it would be easier to cut a deal between Sony and the GGs than a large group of widely disbursed critics. Just adds more skepicism to my thoughts.

@Sara: “So sad to see that vast wealth has completely changed her.” Interesting comment. I think people that become so wealthy and receive so much attention, and become accustomed to both, become completely distanced from what they once were. It’s like they don’t know what to do with themselves and somehow returning to their roots (honestly) becomes a step backwards for them.

Yes, the noms for “The Tourist” stood out like a sore thumb. But the history of The Foreign Press Association shows that they can be bought. I think the org is made up of voters with questionable backgrounds. They have been known to be wined and dined in order to get their votes. Certain stars have distributed “freebies” to members, according to past reports.

“The Tourist” and its stars, have gotten some of the worst reviews of any film in 2010. This supports the belief that they can be bought.

But they do critique movies as entertainment. You have a very naive image of critics. Critics are diverse, of course; there are very bad ones, just as in everything else. But one thing most good critics are: They are not there to please us, but to guide us. The choice is always up to the moviegoer. Some of us need that guidance so as not to spend our money on junk.
The NY Times critic, for instance, wrote that it would have been more fun if Johnny Depp “played the girl, eyeliner and all!”

Others are telling us it’s a waste of time. But there are a very few good critics who don’t focus on the production, but instead write most of their review about the stars.
And some of the top critics have been tough on the leads. These are the ones who are probably laughing at the absudity of the noms to Angelina Jolie (over Gwyneth Paltrow, Sally Hawkins, and others) , and JD.

They don’t have glamorous stars overseas, it seems. So it’s no wonder they see the american celluloid imagery as eye candy.

Huge surprise this morining: The Screen Actors Guild nominations were announed, and missing in the lineup for Best Actress laurels, is…Natalie Portman, for “Black Swan”.
Natalie Portman has already won a few critics groups prizes for Best Actress. She was considered the frontrunner for the oscar.
Which makes one wonder: Was she deliberately left out, so their favorite insider (Annette Bening) would have an easier time winning? And this would be harmful to NP because she was ignored. She is now relegated to an also-ran if she is nominated for the oscar.

X17 is mostly know for providing pictures of celebs rather than gossip text, in my experience.

The wedding rumors in India have to be a publicity stunt, to stir up interest in ‘The Tourist’ there . . . after all, its a market with 1 billion people, perhaps some of them will help close the financial loss the movie is demonstrating so far.

Its kind of interesting to see the laundry list of media stunts associated with Brangie trying to promote ‘The Tourist’:
    1) romantic rumors with co-star
    2) photos around Italy with the Brad and the kids, blathering to press about the family
    3) photos at press events with Brad (didn’t AJ used to hate doing those?)
    4) ludicrous, obviously purchased golden globe award nomination
    5) marriage ritual rumors – I say ‘ritual’ because if they do a ceremony it most likely won’t have legal status, like the mysterious Cruise-Holmes wedding

Wonder what the next stunt will be . . . the adoption and politics angles are played out. Perhaps a mystery illness of some sort? And notice how most of the press isn’t focused on Depp, who I bet negotiated that in his contract, i.e., “Okay, I’ll only do limited press work, and in exchange Jolie can have top billing”.

Re: Johnny Depp. He looks different, lately’; ever since the movie. No longer the private celebrity and he now looks submissive to me; like a man who has been dominated.
Note: Is it karmic payback? Early in his career, JD was reported to have manipulated the tv show he was on
where an older actor was cast, who had a great reputation. We saw less of this great actor and more and more of JD.

Trevor Nielsen (sp ?) was recently in a mag interview. He looked very full of himself. The gist of the article was that he’s the man who immediately advises Angelina Jolie regarding her next career moves. He had advised her to do charity work for the poor in foreign locales, (and to have the media record it) when the backlash against her concerning the JA/BP split started.
So, when the first reports about “The Tourist” not bringing in the crowds despite the boxoffice clout of Johnny Depp came out, there was, predictably, this latest “red herring” to distract everyone.

BP magnanimously proclaimed that he would not marry, until gays can get married. How convenient!
And I feel convenience is at the root of their sudden declaration of intent to marry.
They used the gay community, imo!

I’ve said for some time that there are similarities between the tactics used by Brangelina and the ones used by the cult of scientology for Tom C. and Katie H. It’s like the cult inspires Brangelina’s advisors. The media can be exploited easily enough. The evidence is everywhere.
So the mysterious wedding of Tom C. and K.H. may in all likelihood be a model for Brangelina.
Among the many similarities is the ability to suppress blogging sites. And hiring posters to be on the alert whenever there’’s a critical thread. (This was reported on another site.)

Speaking of TomKat’s wedding. There was a man who was trying to sell pictures of the wedding. This may be the man who was found dead. It was declared a suicide, but his family said he was not the kind who’d kill himself. They further stated that his body position belied such a conclusion.
And what kind of pictures would be such a threat to Tommy? Tommy has a history of dressing up in girl’s clothes. Several papers have published photos of him at different ages.
Could Tom have “modeled” in the wedding gown? And did the man take pictures?
Just speculating, based on Tommy’s and the cult’s history.

For overseas fans..they watch movies because is a cheapest form of going out cost. So if they stars is famou,s they usually happy to spend the money to watch it.
AJ will use any means of PR ..she is fearless…
I really hope the wedding is true..so they stop tied JA with them..

    @siska:
There are mags that promote the movies of stars despite negative reactions to their movies from critics.
These rags usually are rewarded by the stars by gaining easier access to them.
And then, of course, one can decide to stick with their own preferences despite any strangers’ critiques. In some ways, I join this crowd, as I too want to be entertained. For example, I thoroughly enjoyed the Robin Hood movie starring Russell Crowe, for just one. Note: I didn’t know William Hurt was in the movie until I saw the credits.
Some of us need the critics who tell it like it is, so to speak. We do need them because it’s a downer to have to walk out of a movie. But even that isn’t foolproof. I felt empty after leaving “Mystic River”, which many critcs loved.

Siska, don’t you have dvd’s and even vhs players? There is much entertainment from the past that holds up quite well as entertainment. It’s also a great source for learning about people back then. For example, one can look at the clothes, and know they will last for a long, long time. There are the locales, when the world was not so polluted. There’s the language, when moviemakers were checked for vulgarity and unnecessary swear words. But there’s also the slang words so unique to the time period.
    And the list goes on.

Oh, and the marriage publicity seems to be working for “The Tourist”. It’s holding on at the boxoffice. Not sure if the clout of Johnny Depp is the main reason, however.

First Zac and Vanessa, then Scarlett and Ryan, now Tom and Katie. the winter of breakups!

AJ”s “Salt” is #5. This was possible because of the overseas business. Here, it barely made it.

I went to a wax museum in Niagara Falls in August. Tom Cruise reminds me of the wax figures. He is looking okay, but less and less real… super white teeth; super black hair; super toned body. It’s a bit weird on a guy that will soon be pushing 50.

Tommy’s hair is grey. He also has been wearing hair plugs for years. Also recently read that he’s taken to using Katie’s makeup, as it suits him better.
Earlier in his career, I saw an item that Tommy had his high-pitched voice doctored for the silver screen, and that the cameraman had to shoot upwards whenever he ran.
The cult has so much on him, that he doesn’t dare break away. To break away; now that would require some real action! lol!
That MI movie will be a big hit; the cult will work overtime to insure its popularity.

I saw “Knight and Day” recently via cable, and really felt like both Cruise and Diaz were occupying roles meant for people about ten years younger than themselves. Other than that, it was a fairly predictable movie.

As for critical reviews of movies, I check sites like rottentomatoes.com and metacritic.com that look at scores across critics. When cumulative scores are very high or very low, then you usually have good measures of movie quality to guide you. I do think though that having to watch movies and write about them so much does eventually skew how a critic views movies in general.

Starting to wonder if Ian is taking this month off . . . you out there Ian? His twitter mentions him going to Gansu today, but according to Wikipedia, Gansu is a district in China characterized by “frequent earthquakes, droughts and famines” so I don’t know the appeal? Also, I don’t think of China as a country that welcomes undercover journalists in general, so if you go there Ian, maybe limit your investigations to different types of huangjiu and baijiu.

Someone gave me this as a guide:

    http://www.mrqe.com/

We had reports of the snow in London, and travelers stranded at Heathrow.
Here in California, we had a good soaking. It doesn’t last too long, however. Today, the sun burst through for a bit. Now, it’s just a little gray, and getting lighter. It’s sometimes like San Francisco. Wait a few minutes, and you’ll get a change.

    Yorkshire Girl;
Very funny. Thought they adored her overseas. I also had such an experience. I was in the waiting room at the emergency medical center to get some information.
There was Angie on the cover of a magazine. Someone, wrote something on the cover about her that is worse than calling her a wh–e. It was about what he’d do, and he didn’t mince words.
That isn’t a place to thumb through magazines, I later learned. The public leaves all sorts of germs, bacteria and scum on those pages.

Incidentally, I heard that he won’t go in drag for his role as J. Edgar Hoover. One immediately thought that the FBI may have “suggested” to the filmmakers, that he don’t.

For those who don’t know about J. Edgar Hoover, there’s plenty of information out there. But he had the inside info on the private lives of just about everybody famous, especially our presidents.
Our presidents could not get rid of him because of that.
He probably knew about John Wayne, but kept it out of the public domain.
He was going to go after the mob in America. Then he found out the mob had photos of him in drag.
The investigation came to a screeching halt.
He lived most of his life in a close, close friendship with another man, who he promoted rapidly within the ranks of the FBI. His social life was mostly limited to this man.
All this info is out there for the public to read about.

Did you see the spread in the Daily Mail recently, when she looked like Morticia with the attached fingerless glove ‘let’s hide my ravaged arms and possible track marks’ dress? She was laughing wildly like a hyena-her teeth are awful-she looks as if she has too many teeth in her mouth, like uneven fangs. Her body was emaciated and her strapless dress was falling down…exposing nothing as she has no chest. Brad tried to cover her up and it just looked really sad and ridiculous. Her pupils were as wide as saucers; she looked like she was high on charlie or something…I haven’t seen The Tourist so can’t comment on it really, but I thought Salt would pan and that this film would do okay with JD being in it. Mmmm let’s hope this finally gives the studios a wake up call. People don’t want to watch this pathetic has been. All this rubbish about her being loved overseas is just that, rubbish. And believe me there are lots of people far more glamorous than twit and twat outside of America. Yep totally – he is playing the dutiful husband in public (to help sell the film he has invested in) and has the knives out in private (Melvin Mayers’ blog, Chelsea Handler, Dr Drew, wonder who’s next?). He’ll do a little drip-feed of very negative stuff: “she’s a psychopath, poor Brad couldn’t help himself, he was totally under her command”; “she’s a bitch”; “she’s a junkie” through a variety of different media and sources to make it all look completely unco-ordinated, and just let her rep take a massive battering from all sides. wow, just wow. I’ve heard nasty stories about Lea Michele (’Glee’s leading lady), but this is so far the nastiest:
“Just to clear up a few things:

Lea is a homewrecking hoor [sic]. She’s broken up two relationships that I know of and did it on purpose, for fun, and the dumb beeyotch told people she was planning to do it in advance.

She’s also a filthy dirty hoor with crap taste in men. She did Zack Braff in the bathroom at a Tony party after he threw her one of the worst come on lines ever: “I’ve already seen your tits.” She also let Constantine Maroulis give her a golden shower and told everyone in NYC how gross it was. Girlfriend is not smart.

She’s got a set of stage parents cut from the Dina Lohan/Lynne Spears cloth. When she didn’t get the lead in the West Side Story revival, her mother called the producers and screamed at them “Why are you trying to destroy my baby’s dreams?”

She was vicious to the other girls in the Spring Awakening cast. She was pretty much hated by everyone and didn’t care. She’s has screwed over agents and accompanists and stylists over the years. She is a piece of work. I think it’s very likely she’s going to get the lead in the film version of “Wicked”. Everyone has been calling her a “baby Idina” for years.

And slightly OT, but there is nothing alleged about the Christian Borle/Laura Bell Bundy hookup. It was true and it was cold and ruthless and it destroyed poor Sutton Foster. Christian and Laura were still together until recently. He also destroyed all the good will of the musical theater community, who ALL took Sutton’s side.

And my work here is done… ”

dunno if the above is true

Yep – without a doubt. They both have WAY too much to lose by admitting they were wrong about each other. If one of them admits the other is a jerk, they will look as much of a jerk for hooking up with them. The only way to screw the other one over and come out on top is with subterfuge. This is a high stakes game for both of them – by hooking up they propelled themselves to the top of the celebrity tree, even bypassing a few heads of state on their way, and they really, really began to believe their own press. It was all done on a very big gamble though – the gamble that they would both be forgiven for screwing over America’s sweetheart – a very risky move indeed. They pulled it off but only by constantly banging on the Brangelina publicity drum and the risk is that the moment one of them admits the other is less than perfect the rest of the world will jump on the bandwagon and start agreeing with them. It is a very, very tricky position for both members of poor old brangie to be in and they both know it. I think they know that they both can’t survive the split and they are jostling for position. They also both must know that they have to be very careful not to damage the other one too much, otherwise they risk going down with them. It is a very, very tricky PR balancing act for poor old Brangie to play and they are both going to have to be even more crafty and manipulative than ever to pull this one off. In terms of victors my money is on the Brad – his skeletons are easier to disguise (hello John Travolta!) and he is more well-liked by the public. I think most people think that Angelina will deserve what’s coming to her (no-one ever really likes a homewrecker after all). But she will try to cling on with her desperate humanitarian missions and “poor Angie” PR stories and we will all see whether she can salvage an iota of her career. My guess is that they’ll both be damaged by this – and really neither of their careers can afford to take this hit – but he will be the stronger. He was a movie star for quite some time before hooking up with her (he certainly was the man in my teenage years, along with old Keanu and JD of course), whereas she wasn’t really that visible. Her star power in recent years has been built on the tabloids and that as we all know tends to build people up fast and knock them down again even quicker. As I have said a few times before, Angie just doesn’t have the classic films to maintain her star power – her most iconic role will probably always be Tomb Raider. Not the kind of film that iconic movie stars makes methinks. Oh and Mel, yeah totally on Brad’s pay roll – how else is she making a living these days? lol

I haven’t seen it yet, but “The Social Network” has been winning even more critics awards. It has practically swept all of them. The same goes for its director, and for its writer.
Australia gave us some of my very favorites stars. When I first saw “L.A.Confidential”, I was telling everyone I knew, that Russel Crowe deserved Best Actor recognition, and Guy Pearce gave the Best Supporting Male Performance of the Year, imo. But it seemed no one knew who I was talking about. That was the time “Titanic” was heading toward becoming the biggest boxoffice hit in history.
More stars like Nicole Kidman, Mel Gibson, Heath Ledger, Naomi Watts, and others only added to my happy moviegoing experiences.
Someone sends me an awards news update. It appears that the frontrunners for the oscars are:
Colin Firth for Best Actor. There’s gonna be strong competition between Natalie Portman and Annette Bening for Best Actress. Christian Bale is seemingly the one to beat for supporting actor, and the supporting actress prize seems to be wide open at this time. Much depends on who wins the pre-oscar awards. Once upon a time, I used to think it was a big deal. Some stars still think it’s the thing.
I tell myself that how could I take it seriously when someone like Julia Roberts has a Best Actress oscar, while the greatest living actress, imo, Vanessa Redgrave doesn’t have one.
I’ll look out for “Animal Kingdom”. I have to check the times for “Rabbit Hole”. Nicole Kidman has been garnering raves for her perfomance. I’m told that it’s a gritty film.

No matter how hard they push the award shows, it’s hard to really take them seriously. This is based on my earlier research, and pouring over a ton of opinions. Also, some insider stuff I’ve learned along the way.
I’m now in agreement with the late Marlon Brando and George C. Scott. They were reviled by pundits back in the day. After them came the early Dustin Hoffman, (until he started winning) and the genius, Woody Allen.
Woody Allen stated that it was like a beauty contest; a popularity contest.
My initial reaction was that his was “constructive criticism”; but I had too much fun, then, to take him seriously. But of course, I kept the research going. Now, I know a lot of stuff that even oscar buffs don’t know; therefore, I look on, and don’t take it seriously. Instead, I look for favorite thespians up there on the stage.

Re: Australian actors and actresses, Rod Taylor had a very big cult following a long time ago. I learned this from old timers who were fans. So I watched out for his films. I’ve seen “The Time Machine” and loved it. I’ve seen “Young Cassidy” and it’s very satisfactory. Maggie Smith is in it.

Finally saw “Breaker Morant”, “Gallipoli” and some more obscure films.
Yes, there is much to admire about some of our current crop of American actors. They have all those icons of the classical era to teach them.

Until the filmmakers bring back the old style of introducing the cast, either before, or after the story unfolds, most people will think the celluloid imagery is the real thing.
Never understood how people accept make believe as the truth.

The late Rock Hudson said it well in a strong interview. He stated that the people don’t want to know.
I personally met a woman who seemed pretty worldly. She expressed to me, surprise that Rock Hudson was gay. She said in such a way that seemed she was still processing it after so many years.
From what I’ve heard, it’s mainly the producers, agents and directors who strongly advise against acting gay. It’s sort of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ in the moviemaking business. If they bring in a lot of money, the stars are treated more leniently.

Joan Collins remained a bitch and didn’t try to soften her image. Jolie tried to go from ass kicking vixen to holey mother and just didn’t cut it. Maybe joley can remake The Stud and The Bitch, she’ll need to eat if she wants to look as good as collins did.

Here’s one recent critique of “The Tourist” that I found interesting. It’s by David Elliott. He does excellent work for one of the biggest “freebie” papers in this area. The paper is bigger than most mags or newspapers.

” The Tourist – Angelina Jolie is a comatose sculpture in this slack, dated load of thriller cliches. She glides her deadpan “acting” and mighty cheekbones around a postcard Venice, and Johnny Depp tags along like a puzzled puppy. The film achieves vacant star display and the worst canal chase ever, while wasting Venice, Paul Bettany, and Timothy Dalton. It also rams a leaden gondola into the rep of director Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck (”The Lives of Others”) 2010.” – D.E.

But we won’t read anything similar to what the loonies are blogging about Jennifer Aniston’s movies, regarding Jolie.

I @alif:I knew..if Jen movies even still break even and make little money..they already slam her..eventhough most of her movie doing ok and she not even the main role..but they will always blame her..but if AJ..they will not dare to blame on her..I dont know what is her power and if a movie like Wanted success..they only contribute to her..but if Jen movies like Marley and Me success..they contribute it to the dog..its so ridiculous..
But there is some good news this man who made British movie dictionary (sort of)..make a comment about A lister star..and he is honest when he said that JA may not keep her $5 M paycheck much longer but people always find its hard to dislike her..he compare her with Doris day.
    Interesting!!

    @siska:
Tom C. is as much a phony, as any star can be!
Those who like to read about show business and blog sites already know he is almost a nut case. According to some, he has a maniacal smile, and a maniacal laugh. This says volumes!
He should be taken to task for spouse abuse. And he has misused his power in the industry in the past to damage aspiring actors. There’s the case of a young actress, who honestly replied to a question, (honest, but not diplomatic) that he wasn’t a good kisser. Her career is now almost non-existant.
Then a slick magazine proclaimed that TC was “the most powerful celebrity in hollywood”. It was reported later, that he was heard bragging about it.
There’s also the widespread report that he had to be coached in his love scenes with Nicole Kidman, in Kubrick’s “Far and Away”.
His history of dressing in drag, going back to childhood, with photos out there to prove it. Lately, reports that he uses Katie’s makeup because it’s better than any he’s tried.
The report of an actor sneaking into a lab room that had reports of TC’s sperm cell count. He said that TC is sterile. And the reports that TC was a male hustler before he got his break. And the std’s that came with it.
I mentioned about a year ago, that I saw closeup pictures of Tommy from two different media sources. Both showed a very strange looking Tommy. His eyes looked almost inhuman; like it was a being that has possessed him. Jmo!

AJ’s mouth is unusual, that’s for sure. Her daddy was noted for his unusuallly large lips, for a white man.
I’ve read some things about her mouth, and how she allegedly uses it to achieve career success. However, I did see her an awards show several yrs ago, and Clint Eastwood, who directed her in “The Changeling” was looking like the cat who swallowed the canary, as he watched her in the spotlight. Of course, I’m trying to keep it clean, here!
But this was supposed to be when she and BP were head over heels in love. It reminded me of the lyrics of a song I once heard: “When I’m not with the one I love; I”m in love with the one I’m with!”
I’ve said it before; the cult of scientology and Brangelina seem to be playing the same sort of games.
I wouldn’t care, really, if it weren’t for the space loonies, and the earth loonies.

about TC..I just watch the rerun from Ch9 in australia show called 60 minute..which TC get so upset about a very nice guy called Peter who asked him some question about his relation with his ex Nicole and his scientology stuff..he look so scarily like a crazy dictator /controller freak…
There is some stuff being saying that TC and BP not liking each other since the movie Interview with the Vampire..but if we look closely..this two actor has similar modus operation..they like to married famous star..but TC choose slighty less famous than him..but BP choose more or similar star power than him.
They both used kids and family for pr.
I think BP hide his controlling behaviour better than TC.
TC slighty more genuine on helping people than BP..I think TC like to think he is a God sent to help human being, genuinely he believe it, not just for pr. But BP purely doing it (specially recent one) for PR.
I still think TC a better parent than BP..he seem more hand on and present.
AS crazy as TC seem..he still a better person in my opinion because he didnt destroy his x reputation to save his, not like Bp who let JA took the blame of her childless for the cause of the marriage broken, NOT jis infidility.
And TC seem loyal to scientology, eventhough its damage his image, he stuck it out.
I really hope this year bring the good karma for JA..which she can be happy without mention BP name again.
But..when she find another man..the brangolonies still hates her and condem her man..its strange ..why they didnt want her to be with someone else when they hates her for allegedly still pining for BP.
I think Brangelonies afraid if she happy without BP the brangeloonies army is useless.
yesterday they rerun her movies with Owen “Derailed”..its great movies..her acting is great..but the movies bit dark..thats way not commercially success..its the same with his other movies Children of Men..such a powerful movies but not doing so well in the box office..
I think movies now days..get too much competition ..thats way low budget light and happy movies like India style will be better than high budget and heavy movies.

do you know that Cdiaz,Reese W,Julia R and AJ..are the highest paid actress in HW with $15-20M permovie? Jen only receive $5m..thats way she is a better value than the rest of them.
I dont know how the studio can still afford it in this kinda climate?..its getting hard to achieve profit of the movie if the cost way too high…I think stuff will change soon..

    I agree!
This morning in the news, there are headlines about AJ and BP donating $2 million to charity. Just in time, as her latest movie bombed with the critics and the public. And they will be rewarded in the present for this good turn. An auditor would be needed to confirm if the charitable donation will go to the ones for whom it’s intended. But we won’t see that happening. I’m just thinking that 2 mil. is not too high a price to pay for some positive publicity after the decline in their popularity. It should keep them afloat until the next crisis. jmo!

Re: TC and his loyalty to scientology. I don’t feel it’s so much loyalty, now. They have too much on him. If he ever tried to leave, he knows they could easily leak pictures of him, as well as solid information.
I think it’s true of Brangelina, as well. She has some stuff on him (pics? stories? tapes?) that BP cannot afford to have leaked to the media.
I saw BP in “Interview With A Vampire”. His face looked very womanly to me. It’s no wonder some male industry insiders would say that they were straight, but Brad turned them on. It was during this time that photos showed BP as being very full of himself, as if he was proud of being so goodlooking. For me, he wasn’t goodlooking as a man; i.e. he wasn’t so handsome, as he was pretty.

Yes, unless the moviemakers are in denial; because these stars’ latest movies didn’t do so well at the boxoffice.
The media, which she owns, surely has done everything to make us believe that Angelina Jolie is a superstar. Well, she may be to the tabs and the internet, but the people are not buying it apparently. Even Johnny Depp, who strangely accepted second billing to her despite his far greater boxoffice appeal, couldn’t help.
Cameron Diaz is a puzzlement. I can’t think of anything she’s done that would make me want to spend $12. on her movies.
Reese Witherspoon and Julia Roberts also have trouble finding the scripts that would boost their images.
Newcomers seem to be getting all the meaty parts. It’s cheaper for the producers, because some of those newcomers to the movies have had a lot of experience, already.
And so JA also is in the same predicament. Unless she produces and/or directs, she will be at a standstill.

    All the above is jmo!

OT, but I really have been hearing sad updates on the flooding in Australia. And I wonder if global warming has melted those huge glaciers in Antarctica which broke up, then floated away, causing the rising waters to flood Australia. I have never before heard of flooding in Australia. Do others have this theory?

Here in the USA, one of our southern states, Arkansas, just experienced the dropping of thousands of birds from the sky. Also, about a 100, 000 drum fish washed up on shores. As if that wasn’t enough, they have had hundreds of small earthquakes since last September.

Several years ago, a seaside village in Alaska had to move inland because they were being flooded. Another village in interior Alaska had to do the same because the rivers nearby swelled up and overran the village.
Also, they were seeing robins in the far north, where they had never seen them. In addition, an increasing number of mammoth tusks are being exposed and collected.
In Canada, insects are damaging trees in increasing numbers.
It’s only a matter of time before even more invaders flock northward as they did in the gold rush days. Another reason so many bums and ne’er-do-wells invade Alaska is because of the oil revenues. They get monies just for existing in Alaska. The homeless numbers are increasing in that climate.
Also heard that polluted waters up north cannot be dissipated because of the freezing temperatures.

You have soo much insight, are you have a journalist background?..
The donation things..its their PR style..I dont know why Brangelina always tell everyone when they donate..I really hope someone actually audit it..because most of the donation going through their own charity foundation. Its the same with going toy and supermarket shopping..come on..why everyone known about it..and AJ who soo skinny because she didnt like to eat much love grocery shopping with ALL th ekid in tow..when they can afford to use the nannies..I never knew any parent enjoy shopping with their kids and vice versa.
If you look at Will smith and John T..they all scientology..but they all more low profile about it..but TC is out and proud about it..he definitely in because he love it..not because of their scare tactic..thats way he is one of leader on that cult.
TC is very passionate about it.

I think the star pay package being judge basic on their last box office result,,if success they can increase their salaries or stay higher..but if not..they have to starting to reduce it..
CDiaz higher salaries basic on her Shrek series..I think.
I think the real reason IF BP stuck with AJ..because of the kids..I think he genuinely love the kids..specially his…and maybe he is in love with her..or hook on her..but anyway..I like them to stuck it out..they had family..and with that much kids..they had to try to make it work..

When I first started to use this site, I said I wouldn’t use it to talk about myself. But I will tell you that I have met, or seen all kinds of people; from superstars in poliitcs and entertainment, to the homeless, who are some of my favorite people.
I did say in several posts that I worked in hospitals for a while.
I can only add that everything happens for a reason. We become involved in stuff that doesn’t make sense to our more practical friends and family. My friends call me “a free spirit”. Never thought of myself that way.

This morning I was talking with a guy who runs a tiny coffee joint. Since he is jewish, I wanted to get his insight about what might be happening this year. Even at his young age, he wasn’t too optimistic.
I agree that we should re-evaluate our priorities.

I don’t feel it will be the end of the world in December of 2012. But there will be an unusual celestial happening, the experts say.
In my opinion, when unbelievable catastrophes strike, it’s sort of a warning for all of us to clean house before it’s too late!
Some cultures, and some religions believe there will be a “housecleaning”. Cultures such as the Hopi’s believe it’s Mother Nature who will “counterattack” the humans who are desecrating her; Those who are religious believe that it is God who will do the housecleaning.
What is so intriguing, is the advanced learning of the ancient Mayans.

I hope it’s true. They’d make a beautiful couple. However, a picture would certainly help.
Lainey has always been anti-JA; well, at least when I used to read her.
Yes, we who worked helping the people could tell you a lot of unusual stuff. And it could be some extraordinary happening. For example, here’s a story that was published in a Southern California paper.
There was a blond, teenaged male who had leukemia. He was under the usual peer pressure to experiment with drugs and sex. He resisted, and of course he didn’t have many friends.
The time came when his parents were summoned. They each sat on opposite sides of his bed. He was as weak as a puppy at that point. They prepared for the ending they knew was coming.
All of a sudden, this weak young man sat upright in bed, and looked ahead of him. He muttered, “Jesus!”.
He grabbed both his parents, (they said he was strong at that moment), and collapsed and died.
Nurses can tell you stories, privately, because people won’t believe; or they deny what they hear.
I did read later about such an incident that happened in Australia. The nurses reported that they saw her spirit leave a patient who just expired.
Well, I may as well tell you another. When the aids epidemic was at its height, a dying patient converted to christianity. When his time on earth was coming to a close, nurses reported that a dove rested by his window, and flew away after he died.

Well, I should change to a more lightweight subject. So I’ll choose a funny story someone told me.
Seems an airplane ran into terrible weather, and one of the engines gave out. Things looked very precarious, indeed.
A passenger shouted, “QUICK, SOMEONE DO SOMETHING RELIGIOUS!”
So this man stood up and started to take up a collection!

I actually believe in something outthere that we can not make sense..Thats way religion is one way to fulfil your emotional fulfilness..its only when people start using religion has power play and a tool to create war against people who disagree with them that when religion became a bad things.

There is a new article in Bazar mag, which JA interview Nicole K..they seem getting along great..its good when a famous female in HW still support each other,,thats way I like JA..she is not bitchy around another woman..she has plenty of female friends..not like AJ..

I still has my tingling that she is still with JM or Chris or GB?..but I tend to thing she is still with JM..they pretend to broke up to keep her image away fromJM since his Playboy interview.
I remember when there are sighting of them in Atlanta,JM touring with NK hubby at the time JA shooting a movie with NK,there are plenty of sighting JM with GB and Paul R (which her hubby in Wonderlust), JA doing alot of movies with her circle of friends only..maybe to avoid on set romance.
and JM withdrew from twitter..Its the big sign!!
I think JM maybe a lose lips..or a deuche ..but he actually defend his ex more so than anyone else..He even defend JS when everyone blame her for TRomo team lost. His playboy interview actually not bad, its honest,it put JS on the map and on Oprah show.
so i dont know why he being slammed when the cheater like BP being treated like a saint because he donate 2M and act like a father of the year when he let his kids being drag around the world for PR purpose and let JA being blame for his infidility. What a double standard!!
