IUC Resto Review: Two Culinary Gems, (Indian) Chola NYC and (Lobster) Newport Miami
- No sacrificing authenticity at Chola NYC. This was the finest night of Indian food I ever experienced in NYC. So often, Indian food can be fatty and greasy. Not here. Everything was tender and mouth watering. The menu is full of traditional Indian dishes, my favorite being the golden masala dosa to start followed by the best chicken tandoori I’ve had in a long time. The chingri malai spiced shrimp was to die for. Nothing here was less than splendid.
- Nothings spells out indulgence like an all you can eat buffet. Ask anybody if they’ve ever been to an all you can eat lobster buffet and they’d probably think you’re nuts, especially if it’s succulent Maine lobster all you can eat for only $35. Amazingly, such a place exists in Sunny Isles, Miami that does this each Wednesday night. Newport Beachside Resort has a fine restaurant run by Jonathan Hanzas. This is the best deal on lobster I’ve ever seen. Get there early because it will be packed.

Ian, do you get paid for these or just a free meal? Or are you working on a new career as eatery and hotel reviewer?
ReplyYou might let the folks at Chola NYC know that in some parts of the Latino community, ‘chola’ is a term for a female gangbanger: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=chola
