I loved Penelope in Banditas with Salma Hayek. I see nothing to stop her star rising in HW. Comparing Penelope to Angelina is like comparing a rose to a weed so I won’t even attempt to.
ReplyShe was outstanding in Vicki Barcelona, but I hated that film, too slow for me, but she so funny and a little hottie. I could see her topping Angie because she is more of a team player. Not sure how JB helps her though other than possibly bearding for her if that is what he is doing and she for him, suggesting, IDK.
Have no idea on the sports figure, could be anyone, need to throw out a hint with that Ian, we don’t have crystal balls darling. lol

The football players most often mentioned are quarterbacks.
Basketball players are heavy in the media, but mostly for contract negotiations.
Other sports are not as well spotlighted. There was/is the “fued” between figure skaters, Johnny Weir and Evan Lysacek a while ago.
Tennis players are pretty clean! We fans of Roger Federer were clearly disappointed that he simply doesn’t have the “killer instinct” that drives other players to greater heights!
Soccer did very well in the tv ratings here in the USA. But no player is a big star here that I know about
So, we’ll see, eh?

Charlize Theron? She’s famous, but not Angelina-class famous, and I’d say already Cruz is as famous or more famous than Theron. Just found that to be an odd comparison, when she could have chosen Julia Roberts, Jennifer Aniston, etc.
As for sexier, you’ll have to decide for yourself who you find more physically appealing; I find them about equivocal. However, Cruz wins, because with Jolie one would expect to at some point be stabbed, by a tattoo needle, by a heroin syringe, by something from her knife collection, or something else stabby . . . because Jolie would consider that foreplay and/or a post-coital ritual. I’m just quite sure you’d be stabbed at some point. If not stabbing, then I’d expect her to ‘accidentally’ have someone else walk in on you, like Jenny Shmizu, Billy Bob Thornton, or Brad in a diaper, and wanting to participate. Of the options, I’d choose the stabbing.
I do use Enterprise when I rent a car, because they are the only ones with the sense to offer the service where they will pick you up to get your car, and drop you home after its return. That saves you having to beg a friend to drive you, or to call a cab. I’m baffled why the other car services don’t do this.

ReplyI have only a few impressions from Penelope’s acting but I think she is a good actress. At any rate, slightly more original than Angelina, who has played one and the same role for ten years already OR rather different roles in the same way – same expressions, same intonations, same stare, same “F *** you-s” all along. If she keeps her VF promise to retire, it won’t be a huge loss for the movie industry – she can switch to modeling where she was slightly better as a young person, but acting? Ugh! What her fans have vowed to ignore at any cost is that she is an actress with a very limited emotional and expressive range.

I laughed so hard when I read that Sticks Jolie wants to portray Lushous Liz. Zeta Jones is closer to body type. Patty Anne, to be honest, I have no real opinion on this. I think Jolie is as suitable physically as Catherine Zeta Jones, but I’m soooooo sick and tired of her even voice and limited facial expressions in every movie that I would gladly see any other actress in this role. She’s ruined almost every movie she’s been in over the past five years – okay, maybe not exactly “ruined” but those movies could have been a lot better with a more varied actress. By the way, the role of Cleopatra is very fitting for her because both Cleopatra and Jolie are historically recorded home wreckers par excellence. Both Mark Anthony and Brad Pitt were married when they met them. Since the only roles Jolie is pretty good at are those where she plays herself (reference: “Girl Interrupted”), maybe she will do a very authentic job in “Cleopatra”. However, she has been so over-exposed in the media over the past five years that she has become a cliché on the people’s minds and I think she already makes too many people yawn. I’ve said this before and I will say it once again – if it weren’t for Brad Pitt, she would be nowhere special at the moment and nobody would be talking about her. Her catapult to fame was the home wrecking affair she started with him and carried successfully against anybody’s expectations – not without a lot of manipulation, I believe. Strangely enough, she may have a family with him now and they may have children together, but she is much bigger than him at present and this is the strangest part of the story. If she leaves him for someone more powerful on the political arena someday (I think Pitt is too small for her ambitions already), his public image will never be what it was before her, but I’m quite sure he’s likely to leave her first because of her extreme selfishness in her private life – all those adoptions: did he really want them all? Did she ever think how tiring it would be to have six kids in five years? (That makes 1.2 kids/year.) The moment he does this, though, he will be steamrolled, crushed and overwhelmed by the public opinion and she will profit enormously from him once again because she’ll make sure that she’ll look like the quintessential martyr left by an extremely irresponsible man. I am saying this with deep sadness because I don’t give a flying f*** about Jolie – I’ve never found her “all that” artistically and morally before OR after Pitt, but I really was a really HUGE fan of Pitt before he met her and I really miss the time when he was the biggest and brightest star imaginable. Well, he is not anymore – the sheer brilliance of his fame has rubbed off on her, but his name sounds somewhat secondary to hers. DAMN! I wish that wasn’t the case at all, but who can do anything about it? I wish Johnny Lee Miller and Billy Bob Thornton were not the gentlemen they are and broke their silence with some real stories about the time they were married to her. That would be so refreshing! They say that Billy Bob left her because he didn’t want to be a father to Maddox, but who can tell if she didn’t adopt the child over his head because she hoped to make him accept a finished fact? Something she seems to have done with Pitt a couple of times – hopefully, the truth will out because I can’t stand the morons who insult horribly anybody that doesn’t believe in her.

ReplyThen Cruz better start doing some crazy s**t so she keeps us wondering, just as AJ has succeeded in doing from a very young age. She is way too tame to draw interest and particularly now as a married woman.
Isn’t there a Spanish soccer player Rinaldo that’s been on the gossip beat lately re: one night stand resulting in a baby and we are not sure who the babymama is? So far they are reporting an American waitress… maybe it is more. (Cheating NFL football athletes, I would imagine, would not qualify as a major sex scandal and frankly, given Ian’s track record we may never know if he is right or wrong or what he is referring to.)
