I think another good example is the Brad/Jen split. They acted like they’d never split only a week before they split and their reps had denied it vehemently.

ReplyThey need to stop dragging this out. After 5 yrs of dealing with the brangeloons, I am ready to go in. Angie is very manipulative and Brad is probably scared. She is not concerned about the kids; the only thing she cares about is coming out on top. This lunatic did it once(JA) and she will do it again. I still think she was the master mind behind the media flipping on Jen and the perception the world now has of her. Jen has been a soldier through all of this and I don’t know how she did it. Maybe, she knew all along this whole Brangelina crap was for show. I just don’t know how anybody can be put through what she went through and come out fine. It was like the entire world flipped on her for no reason. I can’t say the same would have happened to me if I was in Jen’s position. Angie would have known early on that I am not one to fuck with.

ReplyITA. And you know, I’ve always wondered about THAT particular split. Why did the announcement come out while they were STILL on vacation? That always seemed weird to me. I’ve never seen a famous couple who are on what seems to be a romantic vaction, appearing lovey dovey with one another, announce their break up while still vacationing with each other.
Man – Brad looked healthier and happier than I’ve seen him look for years at the Hope For Haiti telethon. I hope he learned his lesson with Jolie. He should follow Clooney’s example – get a vasectomy and never spend more than a year with a woman. Brad’s career was hurt by this Brange disaster – hope he can salvage it – but he will be a jerk in mt mind.
ReplyUsing the children as the excuse to remain together to milk what little celebrity they have left is what it’s about, not the welfare of the children imo. If Brad had ever been a responsible parent to any of those kids, he’d have wisked them away from Raging Jolie a long time ago. By her own words , when Brad doesn’t comply with her demands, she goes into a range and rips his shirt and hits him. How nice that they both allow this to continue with the children around. Rather than take back his manhood from RagingJolie, he permits her to continue to manipulate six little children and one supposed grown man into horrors we may never know. Flying with the little ones to piss off Brad when well seasoned pilots state she is a scarey pilot? How does that make him stay? It SHOULD make him leave and take them with him! What about the comment by the maid , Anna Kowalski, that the twins have been spirited away to a safe place because out of control Z physically harmed one of them? And yet Brad stayed! The bite marks, the missing tooth, the crying in public of Shiloh….all signs of abuse; yet Brad stayed! This is one Effed Up Non-Families I’ve ever seen…….Time to end it!!

Brad and Angelina Spend the Night Together at Their LA Home
After a report this weekend that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have called it quits, X17online can report exclusively that the couple did spend last night together in their Los Angeles home.
After jetting off the New York to shoot a cover for Vanity Fair, Angelina returned to LA yesterday, arriving at the couple’s Los Feliz home around 4 pm. She arrived in her black Denali — a car they own and use regularly — and was followed by her assistant in a white Jaguar.
The children were at home all weekend and Brad has been staying indoors. After Friday’s Hope for Haiti telethon, Pitt eschewed the Screen Actors’ Guild and Producers’ Guild Awards on Saturday and Sunday, respectively, despite his film Inglorious Basterds being nominated both nights.
All the children were at their LA-area school on Friday and we spotted them heading to classes this morning as well.
So did Brad and Angelina spend a romantic evening at home, relaxing with the kids, relationship intact? Or was the couple in separate wings of their craftsman-style compound, planning their next moves and deciding what they’ll say to the media about their breakup?
According to an X17 Poll, our readers aren’t sure if the breakup reports are true or not — 45% of yo believe the rumors could be true or false but do think Angelina would cheat on Brad. 32% of you believe these two will be together forever, and 22% think the split is for real.

ReplyThis leak and deny, leak and deny is part of the PR strategy. They’re hoping people, mainstream media, tabloids and paps get bored with the story. Especially the mainstream media. After the feeding frenzy this weekend, it’s doubtful the official announcement will get covered with such intensity by the mainstream press. Tabloids and paps will go crazy, but I’l be surprised if the story makes NBC again. It will be old news by that time.
Also, this is perfectly legitimate battle strategy. Initiate a small offensive to see how your enemy reacts. Their handlers can read the various reactions to the NOTW story on the blogs and see how best to spin it when they are ready to announce.
I don’t know if the time frame will be as long as Madonna-Guy Ritchie. Can they keep the lid on for 3 1/2 months? It’s already overdue. Like Tiger’s mistresses, who all came out when they saw the first few getting paid for the story, I think we might be hearing from more and more disgruntled help–especially if they know they’re going to be out of a job soon.
ReplyThe Daily Mail tabloid out of the U.K., which is sticking with the NOTW story of the breakup, also reports the scandalous news that Brad and Jen were both at the Hope for Haiti telethon, although — gasp! — not with each other. That’s the same Daily Mail that on Saturday had Jen gazing “adoringly” at Gerard Butler during the telethon, so believe whatever you want. Maybe it’s all just New Orleans’ fault.
News of the World, incidentally, is owned by the same company that owns the Sun tabloid — which today has Brad’s brother Doug reportedly “begging” the actor to end it with Angie, in a story that then repeats the info from the NOTW piece.
Can we start a rumor that Brad, rather than stepping up to support Haiti, was actually at the studio for a liaison with one of the other 100-plus actors and luminaries who participated? Oh wait, then we’d be making things up.

It would be especially nice if Mickey Brett did indeed write of his personal experiences with Angie, and later Brad. I absolutely think we all owe a debt of gratitude to Ian Haleprin for his firing the first salvo in the truth about Brangelina. Hey yes I saw that. I don’t agree with Ian though, I think he is being taken for a ride to an extent. I would have thought that the kids know by now that their “parents” aren’t together any more. If they could even tell you who their parents actually are. (Which – like how essential fidelity is to a relationship – I doubt very much. I won’t be leaving my partner and talking about them badly afterwards though, Angelina has already told me what a sin that is. Was that the sound of someone tearing someone’s shirt? Oh ok, just me then.) They are stringing this out for one reason and one resaon alone – the same reason they got together as a matter of fact – their brand. There is still a few million dollars for Brand-gelina to squeeze out of the unsuspecting public surely? Stop buying into all this nonsense Ian, you are helping them line their pockets. People close to both of them have told me that was true about four years ago, but Jolie artfully used Pitt to increase her star in Hollywood and in the process became way bigger than him. There’s no doubt she’s bigger than Brad Pitt today. Pitt, we might like him more, but as far as the public interest and fascination goes, there’s no comparison. “Angelina and Brad are still very much together,” a source close to the pouty-lipped actress tells us. “They’re even in the process of planning out their Oscar outfits. Brad wanted to make sure he didn’t clash with Angelina, who’s putting some serious thought into her choices. They are still a couple.”
Planning ahead for March 7– that’s Oscar-night – doesn’t suggest a split to us! Our confirm follows hot on the heels of a report on People.com, who are reporting that “everything is fine” in their relationship.
We’re glad to hear it — especially given the shocking News of the World report that rocked our world Jan. 24 claiming the unmarried couple was getting a ‘divorce.’ Details of the alleged split were as follows:
• Brad & Angelina have seen divorce lawyers and have signed a $400 million split deal
• The legal papers were signed this month and detail how the pair would split up assets.
• The agreement gives the couple joint custody of the children, but all six will live full-time with Angelina. Brangelina began prepping the split in early December and worked with a top LA divorce team.
• The deal was supposedly signed by both in January: “The paperwork is already organized for a break up — and for it to be as unmessy for them as possible. It is clear it’s a case of when they break up rather than if,” says a News of the World source.
Although no official rep for either Brad, 46 or Angelina, 34, has outright denied the claims, other outlets are reporting the two are finito. The New York Post quotes sources claiming that “it’s definitely over.” Ian Halperin, author of Brangelina: The Untold Story of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, says that Angelina has driven Brad “practically up a tree” with her wild mood swings.
It doesn’t help their case any that the parents of six were notably absent from both the SAG Awards and the Golden Globes, where Brad’s film Inglourious Basterds was nominated for several awards. The fact that they weren’t both at the Haiti telethon Jan. 22 was also a shocker given that the two are friends with rapper Wyclef Jean.
Can’t someone give these two a break?

ReplyI was surprised by that as well. It would seem to me Pitt’s the more bankable one, if only because he is a man and men last longer in Hollywood with starring roles. Look at Richard Gere. He’s still a romantic lead at 60+. What’s Debra Winger doing these days? Eventually the only roles women get are playing DAs. Next stop: Stepmom. Also, I would think the insurance on Jolie is sky high with all the reports of her extra curricular activities. Her movies are getting less and less mainstream, and not in an indy-cool kind of way. She’s not in Laura Croft shape anymore. Brad’s the one who just made a movie with QT. I would suggest he work on getting out of this toxic relationship before the Oscars so he can attend with his IB castmates and bask in the glory looking rested, tan and in shape. Oh, and shaved, too.
How you know this isn’t true? They never denied it. It’s always a source or a friend (as if Ang has any friends). In the past Brad would stick up for his family. Now he doesn’t say anything. If people were saying things that could hurt your children you would speak up. Most celebrities deny the truth until they finally give up the charade. Its obvious from the pictures (from Cannes, LA, and NY) that they are no longer happy. Its only a matter of time before they split. Children don’t stop separations/ divorces. If they show up to the Oscars all eyes will be on them and they haven’t been able to “act” the part since Cannes 09.
ReplyThey were doomed to fail. The relationship is based on lies. Also they have these photo ops with the kids and aren’t all together. Why did Brad take Maddox to the Saints game and not Pax too? They don’t really want to raise kids. They want to be part-time parents to their kids. The kids (expect Maddox) look miserable or angry most of the times (notice they rarely take out Pax because he acts out the most, urinating on time out chairs ?). They are developmentally a lot younger than their true age. I saw Z getting carry like a baby after the Mary Poppins play (most kids her age want to walk and proclaim they are a big girl/boy). Plus they never take a break and get out of the spotlight.
Ang didn’t go to the telethon because she doesn’t have any other actresses as friends. Brad always had his friends but they seemed to have turn on him a little (Quentin T with the he still smokes hash confection). Ang didn’t go to any awards because she is sick of the pictures with Brad looking so unhappy. He didn’t go to SAG or GG because he didn’t want to go along so why go at all.
Well I am just wanting to see if they really will show up together for the Oscars. I think it is “too big to fail” with the
way things are in the tabloids. Instead they will have to put their spin on it to preserve their image and careers.
I know it’s over but I like to watch the slow destruction of their relationship. It’s entertaining. I should be concerned about the kids but they never stood a chance with them for parents. Everything in my opinion of course.

ReplyI just don’t think so. I think all of HW can’t stand her pretentious tush and it doesn’t exactly have a great reputation for keeping ladies on the A list beyond a certain age. Meryl Streep and a few others are the exception, not the rule.

I’m wondering if Angie’s lasting power in celebrityville should be credited to her rabid lunatic fan base who seem to change qualifications for being a saint according to Angie’s latest foot-in-the-mouth quotes to the paps. (fidelity isn’t important to Brad and me) In itself is damning, but when put with her recent documented romp a la’ rubber sheets in the downtown NYC hotel as reported by the hotel maid Anna Kowalski, then weighed in with her, Brad and I have not broken up statement supposedly put out on her behalf by an un-named so called representative of hers, which if true, is self-labeling a cheating, perverted slut. The Lunatic’s (Jolie Loons) will find a way to make even that acceptable … because they mindlessly adore this woman. Isn’t there some name for this disease or mental incapacity? ReplyRegarding Ian’s interview at Popeater, he predicts AJ will target a political figure post-Brad. I guess she sees herself in some form of a Carla Bruni / Princess Diana role. But, I think she’ll find it hard to make that work, no matter who she hooks up with, because the skill set and credibility you need for politics just isn’t the same as the skill set she uses for Hollywood image management (despite politics and entertainment having grown closer over the years). Its just really hard to believe that one day I’ll turn on “Meet the Press” and see AJ holding her own in a challenging, unscripted debate. I’m not saying she’s stupid (I couldn’t do politics either), its just that even surviving in the political arena takes years of preparation . . . if she’s going into politics, trying to be anything more than a figurehead for some agency (like she is now for the UN) is going to backfire on her. And if she tries to hook up with someone from the Kennedy family to get herself into politics (a la Schwarzenegger) I’ll vomit on my shoes.

Yes I don’t agree with Ian’s view that she will thrive and he will sink. I think Brad has irreparably damaged his career (mainly through allowing his looks to go I’d say as they’ve always been his stock in trade) but he has such a long history of movie-making and fame that he could never be fully wiped off the map. He is no great actor, but he has made a lot of.very memorable, and some credible, films. That body of work makes the young golden boy Brad immortal and regardless of his future popularity, that will never fade. I suspect his future career will focus more on production than acting and he has already made great inroads into that so I think he will be ok. For me her future is not so certain. Angelina does not have a body of much loved films to stand her in good stead for the future. She has only become A-list since hooking up with Brad. Her fame has been built on her popularity in the tabloids not on her work. Therefore in order for her to continue to be on that list, she has to make sure she stays in the spotlight the way she has with Brad. The only way she can do this is, as Ian says, by hooking up with another seriously famous/powerful man. This is where she gets her star power from, nothing to do with anything she actually does or has done. But who out there would really give Angelina the position she craves? Obama wouldn’t touch with a bargepole, Clinton probably has touched her with a bargepole but wouldn’t in public. Who is this lucky ticket that is going to give her the prize that she seeks? I genuinely can’t think of anyone. But then who would have thought that a former supermodel would hook up with Sarkozy? Well, if Angelina can figure this conundrum out and bag herself a politician she may be in it for the long haul. If she can’t and stays in HW she is toast IMO. I don’t believe she is really 34, more like pushing 40 and everyone knows what happens to a woman’s career at that age. Look at poor old Nicky K. All I can say is that Angelina can manage to pull this off she is more of a houdini than I have hitherto given her credit for, but I suspect not. Why is it whenever I think of Angelina I think of that C17th play: ‘Tis Pity She’s a Whore”, in more ways than one. Can’t think why!

ReplyThose are some great thoughts. Let me just add that Angelina lacks basic relationship skills to sustain any significant relationship in the long term. Any man she hooks up with post-Brad will find her to be a first-class pain in the ass. She seems to have a “my – way – or – highway” attitude to her partners. If someone as laidback as Brad couldn’t have it anymore, I don’t think a politically stronger person will. And yes – I do believe that the image of the golden boy Brad will never die: people need to remember it and see it, so he has a good basis for staying in the picture. As for her, I don’t remember even one movie of hers that is loved by the public so much that they want to return to it time and again. I don’t think she will ever have one, either – movies about disturbed characters might be very impressive, indeed, but they don’t tend to be remembered as long as others.
Unless she goes for an international politician, I don’t see it working in the US. We’re not France. There’s a real Puritanical streak that runs through the American consciousness. I don’t see how a public relationship with AJ would be anything but a liability for an American politician. Try to fight the “war on drugs” with a wife that admits using? Try to campaign on family values while the tabloids publish stories about rubber sheets? Try to raise taxes or fight a battle about minimum wage with a wife that has four houses? Try to legislate global warming laws with a wife that has that large of a carbon footprint? Fuhgeddaboudit.

Reply@ IOTB – I was watching a doc on Obama last night where they talked about how he basically had to renounce his church for the sake of his political career. Something I and a lot of people I would hope, would never do. It seems like, in order to be a successful politician, a willingness to compromise one’s deeply held beliefs is an advantage. So – as I highly doubt that Angie Jo has any deeply held beliefs – one could argue that she is already on to a winner!

Replythat Reverend Wright at Obama’s old church was highly inflammatory, saying things like G**D**mn America, etc. I believe Obama was repudiating that fellow, not the whole church, his beliefs and the other parishioners. There is a difference. As Stinky pointed out, this is a puritanical country in many ways and there was no way he could continue without denouncing the fellow who said those things. It doesn’t mean that he has given up being a Methodist or renounces the entire group, just little Mr. Flame Thrower Wright.
@ Vittoria – yes but it seemed from the bit of the doc that I caught that they were close and that Obama’s decision to denounce him was a very difficult one for him to make. The people interviewed said he “had to do it for his political career”, not that he wanted to. It was quite interesting.
ReplyIt looks like the Democrats waited too long to push the health care reform act through congress.
But there is more to the whole picture. And it is that the Democratic Party
has had at least two albatrosses around its neck for quite some time.
1) The abortion issue. It’s tied to the health care programs. Catholics and other Christians are unanimously opposed to abortion. Many others are likely to condone abortion only in cases of rape; and sometimes if the mother is at risk of death. But on the whole, democrats lose millions of supporters over this issue.
2) Gay marriage. Christians are joined here by many minorities of different races. These millions of voters are not going to be polled, or asked their opinion. So they are silent. HOWEVER, once they get inside the voting booth, that’s when they will voice their opinion.
They would be in favor of benefits for gays, such as inheritance rights, the right to serve in the military, and laws to protect them in the workplace, or in public.
ReplyBut marriage is sacred to them. Again, they are not sought out by the pollsters, but they have their rock-solid beliefs!
I’ve read interviews with Republican senators who say they would hate to see the abortion ruling overturned by the Supreme Court because it helps their party so much.

It’s amazing that people put so much faith in politicians on issues like this one—that they think that particular politician actually cares. It’s all a money game. I was a congressional intern and what I saw made me never want to attend a church that was political. Politics is a dirty business and I don’t want that to be a part of my spiritual life. People who do just don’t know what goes on.

Democrats can be so wishy-washy and overly emotional on one issue and they go sulk if they don’t get exactly what they want when they want it. They’ll go vote against their own party. The Democratic party was going to put out ads against Democratic candidates who weren’t doing exactly what they wanted on the health care issue. They remind me of over-indulged, affluent teenagers.
Republicans are mean. They get more vicious and more inclined to close ranks and vote and manipulate on any issue they can come up with.
It’s easy to see why one party tends to win more elections.
This tea party business has some dangerous undertones. I’ve talked to lots of people involved in it. There are a lot of anarchists who are mixed up with these people who are wanting to dismantle the government. They see themselves all as patriots and people who want to purify the government, but many of them are very easily manipulated by propaganda while the really brilliant ones I’ve spoken with are wanting to basically overthrow the government. Not make it smaller. They want rid of it. Rid of schools, social security, medicare, etc. Some are willing to keep the military but they are very suspicious of having one.
This isn’t coming from someone who is reading articles about them. I’ve spent a lot of time talking to them and hearing them out and meeting them. People have no idea.
