ReplyWell I can’t attend the live TV show, as well. But I do wish all the top stars a Very Jolly Christmas, and a Happy New Year!
Most of my true affections are for the lesser stars who have won me over in a special way. It could be because of their acting; their charisma; their respectability; their versatility; so many things. It’s just that, to me, they didn’t sell their soul, so to speak, to reach the top. And I’m not saying that every top star sold their soul to achieve fame, adoration, and the lifestyle that goes with it!
I would love to have these lesser-known actors visit some of the breathtaking sights that I so took for granted, in Alaska and Canada. (And I don’t mean the well-trod tourist trails.)
ReplyI’d love for them to sample the special foods that those places provide.
It would be great to introduce them to people who are not sophisticated; but who are very charming, nevertheless. I would stress that these are people who would know how to survive if all the technology in the world were to be lost.
It may sound boring, but it isn’t. I’d simply be a terrific guide, since I am an outdoors person.
My wish for all the top stars.. may they find/keep their health, wealth, love and continue to prosper.

ReplyThere are many stars who consider what they do a job, and don’t buy into the celebrity worship trap. Jennifer Gardner and Ben Aflac have been residing in his home town of Boston now for some time, raising their two daughters in a normal family environment. Jennifer shops the local stores, buys groceries, and just all around lives a normal life when not on a project. Johnny Depp is another. When his daughter was so seriously ill, he quit all work (thankfully was financially able to do so) and spent all the time his little one needed with her dad at her side. Those are the celebs that should have strong fan bases, not those who are worships for all the evil in their actions, narcissistic fools who feel they are above the rest in every way, and make a mockery of family values and morals. I’m sick of the Jolie/Pitts, the Lindsay Lohan’s, the Jon Gosselins of this world. The late Charlton Heston did go up to the northern part of Alaska. He and his son moved among the natives and were very comfortable in this strange environs. In fact, he tended the bar at the sole little saloon.
The one in Canada is also north. North of Vancouver. There are about a dozen cabins at least. It is ultra pristine. And the air! Oh, the beauty!
I was among a group of Native Canadians, Native Americans and European Americans. We all came from various parts of America and Canada for a special gathering.
So, here’s just one incident to amuse anyone:
I decided to go on a rowboat ride on the great lake that was there for us to enjoy. I saw a young to middle aged native woman in her costume. I asked her if she ‘d like to ride with me. She accepted. I was very attentive to her presence and made sure she was comfortable.
As i rowed, I was talking away. She looked so serene and dignified; but didn’t offer much in the way of conversation.
After a half hour we returned. We had had a good time, and parted.
FLASH FORWARD!
ReplyIt was time to leave the area. We departed in different vehicles and stayed close as in a caravan. Then some time later, it was decided we should stop in the hillside and look for sage.
A young guy was moving all around the place with great energy. The person seemed familiar even though he was in masculine outerwear.

Actually, I can’t take credit for Trampolina – another guest poster used it first and I asked her if I could use it and she said sure – so now I try to use it regularly because I think it is so appropriate and captures her image perfectly in one word! I have a valid question. Did St. Angie and Brad look at the art? Or did the art look at them? I think in that cover picture AJ is smiling because she’s getting high off the fumes from Brad’s goatee (or whatever the hell that is) that arise from the various molds, fungi and vodka residues that have built up in the hairs. That buzz, plus getting the giggles at just how silly Brad looks, is why she looks so happy.
As for her family plans, the cards that AJ has left to play these days are family and politics, since her physical appeal is waning. So, expect to hear more from her along those lines. And, I wouldn’t bet against Ian’s prediction that Brangelina will break up, he’s got a lot more insights (I doubt everything he knows makes it into his books) into their character (to the extent it exists) than we do.

Defo agree with TomKat and PoshBecks – those 2 couples are kaputski. Not that one ever was an actual couple anyway! Paris and KK I have to say I don’t really give an eff, Will and Jada though, now that’s interesting. Did it come to the end of their contract do you think? (How many years has it been now I wonder). Or maybe they worry that they’ve been rumbled and it’s time to flex their supposed heterosexuality with a few publicity-orientated flings with other members of the opposite sex? Not sure whether it’s true or not but if it is, then I hope someone gives her a good smack around the face and tells her to think about her kids rather than herself for a change. If it isn’t then shame on you Geyer/Trevor/Angelina – it is the most appalling insult to anyone who has lost a loved one through suicide. But I have always said that I genuinely think she would take the easy way out rather than losing face (as Patty Anne always points out, her whole raison d’etre is about holding on to what she has, she couldn’t cope with losing anything). That’s true but they definitely still print her PR stories. The British NE was the one that carried the story that shocked me to the core about her starving herself to death because of Jennifer Aniston when she was supposed to be highlighting the plight of the most vulnerable people in the world. As for the suicide threats/attempts I have a horrible feeling that in her attempts to keep Stupitt she will go to far. She nearly killed herself when she was self harming. I wish this woman would grow up and be a real woman and mother those children properly. I also remember her stating she was concerned about having bios due to her mental health issues and not wanting to pass that on. Obviously trapping a man is way more important. These two deserve each other and should stay together so that no one else gets dragged into the hell that they have created. Poor Children.

A good friend asked me about suicide. He was such a stable personality that my guard was down.
I also tried to talk an acquaintance out of it. Apparently their minds were made up before I could try to intervene.
Suicide is a selfish act. A permanent solution to a temporary problem. AND everybody has problems. That is why they focus on their own problems as being insurmountable.
I remember seeing a young woman on a talk show a few years ago. She had attempted suicide and she declared that she wound up on “the other side” observing spirits who completed the act. They were totally absorbed in their own selves. The spirits were walking in endless circles, mumbling and ignoring every other spirit.
All of a sudden, she said, a light shone on her from above, and a commanding voice asked her, “IS THIS WHAT YOU WANT FOR ETERNITY?”
She came back and has been telling her story to warn others.
Personally, the scenario is one that seems just about right to me. But I always HOPE that these spirits could have a chance to return to rehabilitation in the future, even on the other side. But they made their choices, scary as it is.

I don’t think anyone is saying AJ isn’t capable of what is described, rather its just hard to believe that one or more emergency vehicles could be called to the Brangelina estate without it becoming a major press event (its probably the one thing that could have spared Tiger W. so much press coverage). Paparazzi and tabloid journalists monitor emergency frequencies, and its hard to believe they wouldn’t have heard the dispatch – remember how they all showed up when Britney Spears had an ambulance called to her house, to cart her off to the hospital (or was it ’sanitorium’)? So, the NE recounting of the story is just hard to believe. It could have gone down some other way, maybe, like a private doctor showing up instead of an ambulance, etc., I suppose.

Also, I’ve gained quite an appreciation for Paris Hilton after she made that dumb idiot she’s dating dress in a tutu as the tooth fairy for Seal and Heidi’s Halloween party. I didn’t like her before, but after that photo—-well, it was well done.

And how about that little Russian minx who left Ronnie Wood? After weeks of hearing about all these women who were willing to do anything for Tiger Woods to get some money in their pocket, it was incredibly refreshing to see some kid with no money who would leave Ronnie Wood’s mansion because he chocked her in the street. Good for her. I feel for Ronnie, actually, because I think he really loved this girl, but bravo to her for having some self-respect and calling him on his alcoholicism.
Hope all is well with everyone. Hope Kate is recovering well. I’ve been very sick so I have lots of compassion for her situation—being sick at the holidays sucks.
Oh, and I have to ask—is the Brad and Angie having a baby story just a way to deflect from the book? Are these two going to go as far as to bring a child into this world just to prove to Ian Halperin that they are a couple? If so, then Ian has a lot of power in their lives. I can easily understand suicide. Once you feel like you’ve lost all control and you begin to feel worthless, it starts to make sense. Not as a selfish act. More an unselfish one. To take the pressure off other people who have the burden of dealing with you.
The elderly man who lived upstairs walked outside to his car and shot himself in the head one day. His mother and wife yelled at him constantly—every day—I could hear them. His only real pleasure was sitting on the front porch and he had just gotten a diagnosis that would deny him even that comfort. He would be bed-ridden. He chose to take his life. I could see his point. I miss him, though.

Hm, I thought you were going to say they should call it Ian – or maybe Iananina for a girl. Oh I forgot if it’s a boy it has to end with an x so I guess it would be Ianx and if a girl then it has to be something pretentious to glorify her family and we are running out of options on that front so I guess it would have to be Ianina Voightilia Jolie-Pitt or some such. Either way, I think we can safely say, that it will definitely be another pillow baby!

ReplyThat’s an even more chilling story. I’m so sorry. I know some people who have suffered prolonged abuse on the hands of those who were supposed to be their family. They couldn’t move out and find better lives for financial reasons. The hopelessness is unimaginable. No outsider can really understand it. Anyone who says that those who are suicidal are selfish has no idea what he’s talking about. Suicidal people usually take their lives in search for inner peace.

I still consider it a selfish act. There is so much for them to consider, however. At the time of suicide, the victim is focused entirely on himself. Yet, if the person considered the aftermath, they might not have done the deed.
Yes, suicide affects all those who know the person. Some have even followed the person’s example. Others have “survivor’s guilt”. The survivors may suffer for a lifetime. But the victim didn’t think about that.
That’s what I was trying to convey to the persons I hoped to save. But, I remember, it was like talking to a wall. Their eyes were not focused on me as I spoke to them.
I do miss my buddy. He was not in terrible pain; but it just seemed to him the thing to do. And his two friends committed suicide before he did. So, he was heavily influenced by them.
When I say that suicide is a selfish act, I am not alone. It’s a universal conclusion from experts in various fields.
ReplyThat’s why there is so much opposition to euthanasia from some religions, who consider God the only being who has the right to take a life.
However, there are varying degrees of guilt, according the religious teaching; It’s always forbidden, however.

ReplyAlife, I completely, wholeheartedly, 100% agree with your belief that suicide is a selfish act. When I was growing up, I had a friend who one day was simply not allowed to enter her home. Nor were her siblings allowed to enter. She was quite young and was so afraid; she cried and cried and just wanted to go home. But no one could tell those kids the reason they could not go home. Their father had blown his brains out in his bedroom, and their mother had found him there. Not only had she found him, but she had to clean up his mess and then raise their kids all by herself. I also knew a drop dead gorgeous young woman who, for whatever reason she had at the moment, shot herself in the head with her father’s gun. Her poor father thought she was using the gun for protection. Imagine his guilt. It is horrific. These are just two instances of many in the long line of suicides I am familiar with. Every one of them has done nothing but angered me. Not one ounce of pity has gone towards the dead because it has been the living who have had to LIVE through the hell. I’ve known too many people who have fought with everything they have to live, only to lose the battle and die. My father was one of them. I have a hard time with people who can’t see past their own nose. That includes people who are feeling suicidal. I have many strengths when it comes to dealing with people. Just not in this area.

A longtime friend sent me on his mission. To help his friend and my longtime acquaintance, who was talking about suicide. This reverend said that T told him that Alif was his only friend. (I hardly even saw T.)
T was star-crazy. He even e-mailed a one time big female star. The former star invited him to dinner, he said. T used to take buses up to Hwd just to have lunch there; then he’d return. It seemed so unreal to me until he mentioned the one time big star.
I set up a coffee date after a good talking to him about the value of living; and the responsibilities involved toward our fellow humans.
I arrived at our designated meeting place. He seemed to be late. It wasn’t a cheap place and I had to order more to while away the time. But he just didn’t show up.
He had my phone no. No calls to explain. So I called him. He didn’t even consider his part in our failure to meet.
So I told the reverend. The rev started his speech about me, Alif, being the only one who could reach T.
I told the rev that it takes two to tango. Said I did my part in reaching out, but he, T, had to do his. And if we’re supposed to have an agreed upon coffee date, it doesn’t make sense that I should be the only one present.
The reverend wasn’t listening. He just kept on laying the guilt trip on me. But I refused to accept it.
ReplyResult: The reverend stopped answering my e-mails as well as other forms of communication.
And I haven’t seen T in the areas he used to frequent. The reverend didn’t let me know what happened.
The old saying, “Sometimes you can’t win for losing” seems to apply here.
