Merv Griffin was rumored to have helped Ryan Seacrest and Brad Pitt with their careers.
MG was also sued yrs back by a then young and talented male dancer. Seems MG made promises but didn’t deliver. If memory serves, the dancer lost the suit. MG had all the power.

Merv Griffin had a very positive image within the industry as well as with the public. And he was super rich!

Televangelist clapping: I think James is a youth pastor at Saddleback Church and has close ties with Rick Warren (head of Saddleback Church).

However, there was perhaps an incident that caused brad to leave missouri / school when he only had two finals left before getting his degree. maybe this is a reference to that incident.
