IUC Exclusive: Laliberte Sends Letter To Cirque’s Employees saying He’s Unbeatable; Files Motion for Injunction Against Book
Cirque creator/billionaire Guy Laliberte issued a company wide letter a few days ago telling his employees that people are trying to bring him down and told them not to worry because he’s good at poker and he’s unbeatable, a Cirque employee leaked to IUC.
IUC was also contacted by a major U.S. TV investigative news show that has been investigating Laliberte’s alleged “offshore dealings” in the Cayman Islands long before I published my book. Because I’m tied up in litigation with Laliberte I refused to comment. I will refrain from interviews until we resolve this mess. Here’s recent articles on my “war of words” with Laliberte, whom I still go on record to say is the most successful, innovative and creative person I have ever come across in showbiz. A big shout out to the hundreds of emails and letters I’ve received supporting me. Your support means the world to me.
UPDATE*** Laliberte has made a motion for an injunction against my book. It goes to court this Friday – I’ll keep you posted. My lawyers have assured me they will defend vigorously against his request.

Dang, good luck Ian! The guy sounds ungrateful for your good words.
ReplyYou are in litigation with La Liberte yet you are posting this stuff? Bet your lawyer loves that.
ReplyIs it just me or does Kim Jong Il sound mentally unstable/ill? “We’ll blow the US off the map”. Ummm, what other foreign leaders haven’t said that? (*cough* Hitler *cough*)
Reply@mooki:
I get the feeling that the S. Koreans will assassinate him a la Ngo Dihn Diem.

ReplyHi LadyB! I left you another note on the BlackEyedPeas thread in regards to books. I should’ve put it here, but oh well. Would you mind reading it and giving me your opinion when you get a second? I also have questions about Kindle. And you’ll be excited to know that there is a follow up book to “Mistress” with the same protaganist. I haven’t read it yet though.

ReplyPlus, you said you really like Ancient Rome. Have you had a chance to see HBO/BBC series “ROME”? If you haven’t I would highly recommend renting it if possible. I think you would absolutely enjoy. Torrid love, blood, friendship etc. Cleopatra makes a couple of appearances…
question for anybody out there: is it true that Angelina almost won the role of Crystal Connors in Showgirls? Her career would’ve gone down a very different path…
Reply@mooki:
Wow, but she didn’t get it? She got turned down for a part in a soft-porn flick? Now I understand why she hooked up with Brad….
Reply@mooki:
ReplyHe has the Napoleon complex for sure.
@mooki:
Just a legend in his own lunchtime I reckon. Decades of isolationism will do that to you.
ReplyJust got a list from a trustworthy source of Disney’s future projects for their theatrical division in 2010-2011 and beyond:
-High School Musical 2 (ugh) (for national and worldwide tour); community theater groups have already got the rights to perform this)
-Sister Act: The Musical (currently playing London’s West End, produced by Whoopi Goldberg, BWay and national tour in ‘10)
-The Hunchback of Notre Dame (BWay and national tour in ‘11)
-Peter and the Starcatchers (prequel to Peter Pan) (possible BWay run and tour after preview @ LaJolla Playhouse; BWay run seems cloudy)
-The Man in the Ceiling (a new musical written by Andrew Lippa and Jules Ffeiffer) (in development)
-The Nightmare Before Christmas (in development)
-Aladdin (in development)
plus more worldwide productions of Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, and Little Mermaid

(cont.):
and Disney is opening up new productions of Mary Poppins in Australia, Denmark, and the Netherlands (among other countries).
I find it fascinating that the #2 media conglomerate is finding a way to open up new stage shows when BWay is in its worst financial slump since the Great Depression.
ReplyIan, good luck with the lawsuit. And good for you for defending yourself and your work. Although I wish we weren’t living in such a litigious world, I believe in freedom of the press, and even more so, the need for us regular working stiffs to stand up to the wealthy. I am so tired of wealthy people buying their way into or out of anything because they can just keep the lawsuits and intimidation flowing.
Ina former job I was the personal accountant to the owner of a company and watched him just get more and more out there as he started pulling $20 million a year out of the company. He didn’t cheat customers (although he did some pretty shitty things to his employees) but he certainly had his own system of ethics, yet actually thought he was really ethical. I actually just got to the point where I had to leave that job without looking for another one first. One of the best things I did, and I wasn’t the only one. I can’t tell you how many others did the same, but within six months of the time I left there was not one person left in the HR Dept. that was there when I quit.

Angie’s furious @ Megan Fox…. because Megan’s rumored to be playing Lara Croft in the new Tomb Raider movie.
ReplyMy goodness, the new target. Guy Laliberte, be patient.

Replycan anybody dig up some dirt on Rielle Hunter, aka John Edwards’s “mistress”. I know she was in the movie ‘Overboard’ w/ Goldie Hawn jiggling around in a bikini and she MIGHT have done a porno.
Also, why are Spencer and Heidi Pratt getting away with all this shit on TV? MTV must be paying this fake couple major lip service (I’ll tell you who they’re really seeing…)
Reply@Astro:
ReplyThat article is a joke. Give me a break, you can’t seriously believe it is true.
@mooki:

ReplyIan you mentioned an update would be posted for Friday about Laliberte’s injunction – how did it go? Here’s hoping you are out celebrating a victory!
