Teenagers who don’t seem to feel anything. Like that boy who killed all those cats. Like several girls who killed their mothers because their mothers practiced discipline.
Even the occasional child who kills, like that 8 or 9 y/o boy who killed his father’s friend?
The woman who cut open her pregnant friend’s abdomen to retrieve the baby. (who died.)
Numerous other incidents.

I was shocked to hear on tv that there are hardcore gangs up in Anchorage, Alaska. I ran that by friendly acquaintances, and they were very surprised. How did they wind up there? Could it be because of the wide publicity about the state giving oil dividend checks in a hefty amt to them for just existing there. It apparently has attracted hordes of newcomers to the state. Many from poorer states, I would guess.
Just as bad, there were 2 San Diegans who were hired as talk-radio hosts up in Anchorage. They later made a “joke” about Alaskan Native Women. A “joke” that had prurient sexual connotations. And what did they get? A slap on the wrist in the form of a 2 wk suspension. That Iman guy must have wondered if he should relocate up to Alaska. JMO!
So did Governor Palin loudly admonish them? Noooooooooo!; nor did she publicly ask them to apologize to the native women. But then, there was no national publicity to get from such a noble action.
Then on tv, again. News about a young male (don’t want to label him a man) who happens to be of A/A heritage. He had raped and murdered a months-old baby. (It wasn’t in the papers; obviously!)

I’ve heard from religious people that America fosters “a culture of death”. They say this because of the practice of abortions; euthanasia; morally unjust wars; the death penalty and constant, unabated violence.
Other religious folks claim our society “is drenched in sex!”

I have a hunch that a dictator will arise from American soil. I told this to a history professor, and he replied “You’re absolutely right!”

No, I set my sights a little higher than Brad Pitt. My husband has held many prestigious positions in the military and in his spare moments experiments with nuclear physics.
