Today is Black Monday.  There will be no posts.  Lets take this time to send out our prayers to the families and close ones of the victims of the AF airliner that went missing today.  (BBC)

    Very very sad, we were just sitting here talking about these families, very thoughtful IAN.

    Too depressing for words to think about what they are going through, my prayers are with them.

    That is exactly what I have been thinking about, the families and friends of the people aboard. To have your loved ones just disappear. Devastating.

    I sincerely hope the families and friends of those lost will be able to find peace. Having a loved one just vanish…there really are no words. Godspeed.

    I spoke to Ian tonight and he is extremely upset about the crash. He lost a close friend a few years ago in a plane crash and knows how terrible this is. Everyone, lets say a prayer together. Te Amo, SRRC

    I’ve also been thinking about the families and friends today, this must just be so devasting. And no matter how horrific to see the death of a loved one, having the plane with them on board just vanish has to add to that – because no matter what, until it is found, some part of them will believe that they survived, and the devastion will occur all over again when all hope, even the one in a zillion chance, is gone.

    Peace be with them all.

    OMG! This is just so very upsetting. There are no words here that will comfort anyone. Just our prayers together, as one! Just as SR said. I’m at a loss. xoxo

    I would also like to express my sadness for the families involved. As an ex investigator for the military I hope the aircraft is found soon and the cause known to allow the families and loved ones to grieve properly and find a sense of closure. Although Im not sure that will ever happen fully, knowing the cause may provide some relief to the people who have lost their loved ones. My heart breaks for them x x x x

    My heart goes out to the families of the people who were aboard this flight.

    Latest is that a TAM pilot saw what he believes was fire on the ocean along the route that this flight would normally have taken. Perhaps they will be able to give closure to these people if they can find the wreckage.

    Will pray for them tonight.
    228 people on Flight 447
    May God comfort their survivors and relatives. So many stories of heartbreak.
    Also, a member of Brazilian royalty was aboard.

    Thank fuck there’s no posts today, Ian, because you’d probably no doubt find at least nine of the Brazilian dignitaries onboard were secretly gay, according to your sources deep in Somalia, and desperately needed outing by yourself before their obituaries are written. Or that the pilot’s father was really their Uncle Mavis or a spy in the Brad and Angie camp and needed outing for that too.

    At least you can try and be all faux grief today, which gives the rest of us a break.

    @egm:
    Why don’t you take a permanent break? No one is forcing you to be here.

    Oh yes they are, egm has a mistress and a paycheck to work for. Nice one Ange, your people are doing you proud. They say everything we need to know about their master. My thoughts are with the families at this sad time. All the best to everyone.

    et tibi reddetur votum in Ierusalem.
    Exaudi orationem meam;

    Confirmation that they have found the crash debris, a 3 mile swath of bits and pieces:

    No comfort for the families, as no survivors have been spotted, but at the very least the element of uncertainty is removed as to the fate of the plane.
