@ p – interesting, I did not know that. Just trying to get to the bottom of why someone might want to cover up their arms so frequently, other than because they’ve been injecting drugs. So lesions are not really associated with HIV/AIDS any more, are there any other ilnesses that cause some sort of marking of the body from time to time, hep A/B/C for example? Pam Anderson has one of those doesn’t she, ALLEGEDLY from a tattoo needle, or that’s her story anyway! Just thinking out loud. Thinking about the disease element above…. And yes I do know about poppers as well, popular on the rave scene too back in the day if you hear what I’m saying, they’re still legal in the UK, Gordon Ramsay’s supposed mistress said he asked her to buy it from a sex shop for them both (am pretty sure that whole story was fake and concocted to squash a much more damaging one though, or so I’ve heard).

She could have been hiding bruises. From what she has stated in interviews, she likes S&M. Perhaps she was on the receiving end of the S&M. It may not be as sinister as we think. If she was shooting up, I don’t think she’d be dumb enough to do it in such obvious places as her arms. Drug addicts can be very creative imo.

Keane, I’m glad you thought about the picture too. I tried to search significance in the picture, but couldn’t see anything obvious. I think she looks good in the picture. A little too Jackie O for a movie premiere, but very put-together nonetheless.

Kaposi Sarcoma, once part of the definition of AIDS, has diminished considerably… it was mostly seen in gay men not in IV drug using “AIDS” population (at least in the US), which some scientists found suspicious. When they took “poppers off the over-the-counter market (an inhalant I believe designed for heart patients but some claimed they prolonged orgasms), incidence of KS diminished subtantially. Has their been a resurgence?

Keane did you know that KS was originally identified by a scientist (I think Austrian) in syphilis patients?

I’m not trying to give you a hard time, I always appreciate your posts, just passing on what I know.

@justathought: remember when Brad, c. 05/06 was suddenly hospitalized at Cedars Sinai (right hospital?), but the outcome was released as mengingitis? at that time, i thought it was aids, and the mengingitis was a cover for it. interesting to think about.
