IUC Exclusive: Is Madonna and Angie In Cahoots Adopting Kids?
Madonna today said she’ll appeal to Malawi’s Supreme Court in her latest botched adoption attempt. (Read This) Now, a source tell IUC that the Material Girl 
has been consulting none other than Angelina Jolie regarding techniques on adopting. Ironically, it was only a couple years back Jolie blasted Madonna for using her fame and money to adopt one-year-old David Banda. ‘Madonna knew the situation in Malawi, where he was born,’ said Jolie, who has adopted two Third World youngsters of her own. ‘It’s a country where there is no real legal framework for adoption.
‘Personally, I prefer to stay on the right side of the law. I would never take a child away from a place where adoption is illegal.’” Does staying on the right side of the law include stealing another woman’s husband? Not so for Angie.
“They’re both on a mission to save the world,” the source said. “Only problem is that they should worry about the state of the children they currently have before adopting more. I know that there has been issues recently with children in both camps. Shame on them for trying to expand before they have their house in order.” Developing…
I agree ! Sorry but Jolie should not be allowed to adopt even one more child without proving that she will show some sort of stability (must have a permanent address and live in one residence for atleast a year or until the child has settled into the family). Madonna just went through a divorce, her children are be schlepped between countries for visitation, her love life plays out for the public, and she appears to put more effort into her career and boyfriends than her children! These two women need to call it a day and concentrate on the children they currently have ( madonna’s kids are dealing with a divorce and losing “daddy” and Jolie’s children are practically being raised by the hired help – especially when mommy is working 15 hour days). Neither of them are fit to raise puppies let alone children.

Neither of them should be allowed to adopt again they need to concentrate on the kids they’ve already got. I wonder how much time they actually spend with them? I bet it’s not much. It’s the nannies who are bringing up those poor kids.
ReplyIt makes me FUME when i think of those who are desperate to adopt but can’t because of stupid rules i.e. they smoke/are overweight/aren’t married etc etc yet people like these two can afford to go abroad&pick and choose. GRRR!!

I thought when I read that of Madonna, but after Angie piped up about Madonna’s first adoption, I was under the impression that they hated each other.

I heard that too and that was why they hated each other, confusing isn’t is. I would not have ever thought they were lovers based on that, plus Madonna seems so strong willed and so does Jolie, they are a match for each other.
I am also confused on what happened to Bunny, was she just a one night stand? Is she gone for good? Seems Angie just keeps a little black book of the flavor for the week. She seems a bit mental for Madonna though. Brad and Guy use to be friends, odd since he is so homophobic (Guy) always wondered about that?

Madonna adoption bid is rejected
A Malawian court has ruled that US pop star Madonna has failed in her bid to adopt a second child from the country.
The singer was due to return to court on Friday to learn if she could adopt four-year-old Chifundo James.
An official of the Malawian government had backed Madonna’s bid to adopt the child, whose name translates into English as Mercy.
According to the Associated Press, however, the application has been rejected over residency rules.

ReplyThat is not what the adoption agency said in Russia , t hey said she ran through various orphanages picking up kids like she was choosing a lollipop, they thought she was unstable, and she dumped Gleb because she could not get him “in time” which means for Brad. They were pissed off.

On topic, Madge was one of the people I guessed when I heard about the female pop star bit. They described her as “infamous”, and I thought that could only mean one of two people, her or Britters. Could not imagine either of them with AJ though, so plumped for Pink and then everyone seemed to say it was Queen Latifah. I guess Madge fits AJ’s apparent preference for the “most important/significant people in the world”. But the thought of the 2 of them together is truly stomach-churning. Two wizened old grannies with terrible matching cheek implants bumping and grinding, ugh! Do you think they have to keep checking to make sure they haven’t bumped any of their implanted regions out of place? I can’t bear the thought of it. And SR we did not know this, can’t believe you kept it to yourself all this time! And what is being described about Jolie’s behaviour at the Russian orphanage is truly disturbing and confirms my worse suspicions about her. Those poor children. She must categorically be prevented from adopting any more. The whole point of adoption is to take the chidlren to a more stable life, not something worse. It is utterly disgusting to me.
In other news, there was a story in UK’s Now about Jolie collapsing on set today, supposedly because she’s not eating enough – yeah right, that’s the usual reason celebs collapse, nothing to do with doing copious amounts of coke/crack/smack or any combo of the three of course. I’m not sure whether its true or if this is part of the “have sympathy for poor over-worked, exhausted, stressed, supermom Ange”. I suspect a bit of both.

ReplyI share your rage and I am soooooo glad Madonna got rejected, at least for now. Just because a person has money and power is NO indication whatsoever of their ability to nurture. In fact, this fame likely is an indicator of narcissim and an INABILITY to provide a stable home. So the deal is, she tries to lead something of a private life for maybe 50% of her time. She has to do things that aren’t just aimed at getting publicity for herself, showing off and trying to make herself even more famous and immortal. In short, she needs to throw her fax machine in the bin; stop calling the paps at every available opportunity; stop making deals with magazines to sell images of her kids for many millions of dollars; stop publishing candid, private snaps of her and her family, breast-feeding, playing with her half-dressed children etc etc; stop doing and saying things that ae designed expressly to get her attention i.e. deliberately getting her breasts out for paps to take pics of on her balcony in France and discussing how her and Brad fell in love on the set of MAMS while he was still married to Jen. If she works very hard on not doing any of these things any more, or at least cuts back by maybe 50%, then maybe, just maybe we will be slightly less bothered by her. See the thing is Meah, when someone sets out deliberately to garner as much attention for herself as humanly possible, sometimes, some of the response to that is not 100% approving. ReplyI have posted before re Angie’s attempt to try and circumvent the law and adopt from refugees camps. If she does there should be an international outcry as yes, there is no legal framework in place for adoption. I hope her unpalatable behaviour and lifestyle are promoted so much that she gets dropped from UNHCR and kept as far away from these vulnerable people as possible. They have had enough to deal with in their lives, depositing them in Brangies mobile kiddie zoo is not doing them any favours. There are some excellent people quietly going about their job promoting the work of the UN ; people like Angie just serve to cheapen it in their relentless drive for self promotion and validation of their shallow lives.

People who have never given a second thought to the orphaned or abandoned children of Malawi — and who probably couldn’t even find the southeast African nation on the map — were, at first, effervescent with indignation at this rich white woman’s alleged lack of regard for the human rights of some of the poorest people on earth, and subsequently delighted when she was turned down by a Malawi court. That put the uppity bitch in her place!
Now we could all go back to not giving a darn about the children of Malawi, which is what we were doing quite happily before, thank you very much.
It’s not that people didn’t have some justification for being a tad uneasy about these matters. Watching Angelina Jolie jetting round the world picking up babies in duty free on an apparent ‘buy one, get one free’ offer only makes one wonder again why Brad ever left the delightful Jennifer Aniston for this egotistical control freak.
But did Madonna really fall into that category? She’s no serial adopter.
The Material Girl has adopted only one child before, which is hardly excessive in the half century she’s been on this planet — and she decided to go that route with David Banda only after getting heavily involved with the Raising Malawi project.

I think that’s the real problem with the current adoption is there is a grandmother fighting it tooth and nail. There would be a lot less flack if this child had no one.

Mercy also has a father – please see today’s UK Sunday Mirror. The father had been told that Mercy had died along with the mother in childbirth. He lives along way from them and makes £100 a year and couldn’t afford to leave his job and go looking for her. He said he was young and irresponsible when she was born and afraid of the responsibiliy of supporting her and her mother. There were big family fights and he left the area. But now wants to be her parent. His sister however thinks she should go with Madge for a better life in the west. Its a complicated issue. While many of us in the west feel that she should stay with her natural family in Africa, a lot of Africans would say she’s better off in the west. The relatives of children adopted from Africa and taken to the UK have said the same thing to them when they have returned as a grown-up, that they were lucky. Its a tricky one.

The other thing about David seeing his dad agian… well a very young child (3 and under) WILL forget when they haven’t seen a parent in a year. It’s sad but unless M promised a visit every 6 months, it’s a tough one. And Mercy’s situation doesn’t sound that black and white either, since the kid doesn’t know her father. However if the grandmother is supporting her, and only temporarily sick or something, that’s a different thing. It’s all very complicated.
ReplyDavid has a father. Apparently Mercy has a father and a grandmother. Having been raised in the high rent district it isn’t always better than being raised in poverty with love. I have reservations about Madonna’s need to flaunt her sexual conquests. If she’s exposing her children to a revolving door in the bedroom, the children may have difficulty as adults bonding to a partner.

The toyboy lasted about 5 minutes and now here she is picking up her new baby from Malawi and trying to take her back to her stable family home. It is truly unbelievable what these people think they can get away with, and sickening.

I don’t what the particulars were, I do remember reading that she was constantly taking the kid to the doctor complaining that his feet smelled and other stuff. I think the pediatrician(s) testified against her. I think there were suggestions about Munchausen by Proxy.

On another note / general comment – I read the full Ellis O’Hanlon article and i definitly thought it gave an interesting perspective, I didn’t find it altogether undeniable but i thought it a shame he didn’t try to balance it up more. From my own perspective I think that what I really take issue with is not Maddona adopting from Malawi or anywhere else, it’s the lack of a level playing field. It’s such a shame it all boils down to money in the end, if other would be parents (without the millions and fame) had a hope of adopting with the ease and speed the rich seem to manage, how many children could have homes with parents who are more interested in looking after them and operating in their interests rather than handing them over to nannies or jetting them across the world with the speed of a moving bullet. I guess what I’m saying is that may be little Mercy James would be better in her own country close to what remains of her family or maybe she would be better in the west, it’s all a matter of opinion but whether it’s Mercy or another child shouldn’t all adopted children be entitled to the option of the best possible parent and not just the richest?@Keane:

Their life was examined under a mircoscope as are all parents that adopt thru reputable agencies. No way would anyone who flits impulsively from one relationship to another, has a suicide attempt history, within the past ten years, and bouts of depression qualify. My friend and her husband hadn’t even met the little girl before they adopted her, only saw a video. That was enough. Oh and they also already had a happy, healthy sweet 7 yr old boy, so they’ had even proven their worthiness as parents, still it took 2 years. Yep very different for regular folk. Even capable, sane ones.

Kate wants to be a rock star, but isn’t. Angelina wants to be oscar-winning actress and rekowned humanitarian/politician, but isn’t. So they feed off others. It is vampiric. How appropriate for Angelina!
But Madge is very muscular and butch these days and that’s Angelina’s type. I thought it was probably someone like Pink but she didn’t really fit the description of being “infamous”. Only Britney and Madge really fit that for me. And I really don’t think it was Brit. I asked Ted C and he said definitely no about her too.
