IUC Exclusive: Pia’s In The Attic

If you happen to be near Michigan this weekend you won’t want to miss this – Kong’s Night Out, starring Cindy Williams (Laverne&Shirley), Eddie Mekka (Carmine) and the children of Kojak (Christo Savalas) and Pia Zadora (Kady Zadora).  Speaking of Pia, did you know late author  Mordechai Richler joked in his book “Solomon Gursky Was Here” Pia’s performance was so bad in The Diary of Anne Frank that an audience member yelled “She’s in the attic!” when the Nazis showed up.   Btw, Pia never acted in the play.

I read somewhere that the play wasn’t The Diary of Anne Frank, but a summer stock production of The Miracle Worker. She’s a perrenial d-lister anyway and wrecked Pickfair…

No, according to Snopes.com, it’s an urban legend. She never played Anne Frank at any time. It was George Burns, not Mordecai Richler, who first recounted the tale and he was obviously joking about how bad an actress she was.
