IUC Exclusive (Part III of III) – Shania was miserable for long time being watched over by “modern day Svengali” Mutt Lange
According to a close friend of Shania, the country superstar had been miserable for eons cause of the way her cheating hubby Mutt Lange kept a tight surveillance upon her every move. The friend said Lange was overly possessive, worried that the stunning Shania would be swept off her feet by a younger, good looking Hollywood actor who was obsessed with Shania. Brood long enough on the terror of such an end in vertigo and frustration, Lange started to act weird.
“Many people close to Shania were concerned cause Mutt seemed to control her like a modern day Svengali,” the friend, who grew up with Shania in Timmons, Ontario, told IUC. “Anytime another man came near Shania Mutt looked like he was about to explode. A famous Hollywood actor was chatting with Shania at an awards show a few years ago and Mutt seemed very disturbed, probably worried Shania would be swept off her feet by a much younger, more good looking man.
“Now that Shania is single she seems to be happier and more confident than ever. She told a mutual friend how Mutt’s affair with another woman was a blessing in disguise cause it finally gave her a chance to get out of his clutches.”

I’m glad that Shania is now finding a sense of freedom and if Mutt seriously thought she would be interested in another guy while she was still married to him, then he surely had trust issues, because the fact remained she loved him and was not the type to stray.
The age gap didn’t bother her, even if it bothered other people around her and while it’s true that he wasn’t good looking, it was his personality and his mind creatively that she had fallen in love with.
Shania spent longer and longer out of the public eye, no doubt because of his controlling behaviour, and it took her away from her passion, which has always been writing/recording music and touring. No wonder she was miserable. I get the impression that Mutt became far more interested in real estate than what was happening to his wife’s recording career.
As soon as he made her as big as he wanted her to (because of the obvious riches it earnt him through royalties etc) he then got paranoid of the media’s attention surrounding their relationship (because of his private nature), out of fear he would be photographed with her, when seen out in public.
Mutt seemed to want to distance Shania more and more away from her family, since moving to Switzerland and building a new home-base in New Zealand.
Shania deserves some happiness and that renewed confidence she has found will enable her to live her life, however she chooses.
