Her costumes and wigs can outperform everyone else but her talent, I don’t think so. Ms. Plastic face has balls, ok, maybe not her own, but let’s say she has the back up of the balls of all the drag queens who impersonate her. I don’t like her music or Mariah’s but Mariah can sing, she has an incredible range reaching into the flageolet or whistle register.
ReplyPrince is an amazing artist and songwriter who has influenced many people and Tina Turner is a powerhouse who doesn’t need all the trappings to entertain. It’s too bad, because Cher can be fun and was a pretty good actress before she ruined her face with too much plastic surgery and botox, but if she said this, she must take herself too seriously.
It’s really nice to see that Cher has remained humble… after all these years as an entertainer. I heard her do a duet with Tina Turner. It was clear then that while Tina has lost some of the power of her voice, she’s lost none of her stage presence and sex appeal. Cher, on the other hand, seems to have lost both. She’s relied too much on the props of her clothing, hair, etc. She’s become almost a caricature of herself. She’s had so much plastic surgery, some of that plastic might have seeped into her brain. She also has much difficulty growing older and while, with tons of plastic surgery, you an stay looking young on the outside, inside she has become a grumpy, stupid, arrogant old lady. I don’t know if there’s surgery for that.

ReplyOh my god Cher has completely lost the plot and sense of hearing. During the Sonny & Cher show in the 70’s when she duetted with Tina and again on the recent Oprah Show Tina totally outsung her. The only title Cher deserves is Queen Bitch. I dont know if this quote is true but if so this is typical Cher, can just make spurious claims that she knows would get press attention. I really hope it’s not true and she apologises too Tina, as Cher said Tina is a lady and she’s a sailor with a gutter mouth.
ReplyOh please. Don’t get me wrong–I love me some “Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves” but give me a break. She’s a transsexual who can vibrato in one low-pitched register. She’s no Mariah.
And she ain’t no Prince either.
She also once said of Madonna, (not a direct quote, but whatevs), “I look at her and think ‘Oh honey, everything you’re doing I did 30 years ago.’” I mean, granted, Cher actually DOES sing better than Madonna, but when Cher sings live while doing an upside-down crabwalk in a corset and 5-inch-heeled Louboutins, then we’ll talk.
However, I will always love her, regardless, for once saying of her plastic surgeries, “If I want to have my tits attached to my back it’s my business.”
ReplyI certainly hope she was kidding about being able to outsing Tina Turner. I’ve seen Tina in concert recently and her voice is just as powerful as it ever was, she looks amazing and the legs are still sexy as hell with no jiggle when she dances. Tina will be 69 next month and can outperform Cher and almost any other pop star any day of the week.
Oh and Tina is the Queen of Rock and Roll not of Pop music, apparently Cher never got that memo.
