Tony Orlando hits rock bottom – now busks in lobby of grungy Imperial Palace Hotel

Many of the formerly famous crave for another 15 minutes, but to take it to the extreme Tony Orlando does is pathetic. Orlando, who I’ve met several times and found to be quite charming, has long been absent from the limelight. Sadly, his only prospect of getting paid is by doing something humiliating in the lobby of the grungiest hotel on the Las Vegas Strip – a busking act. Check this out!

It could be worse. He could be in a clown costume performing at Circus Circus, which in my mind, is the grungiest hotel on the Strip. Hey, a Vegas act is a Vegas act….. this is better then him standing on the street corner. Or is it?

Methinks it might be time to tie a yellow toe tag ’round Tony Orlando’s career.

Who are those men in suits and fedoras who appear to be the only ones listening? I’m sure at this stage, Tony Orlando doesn’t need body guards. Love the Billy Idol wannabe who walks in front of Tony and jumps up in the air. He says that Dawn is on vacation – right, vacation.

If you think this is bad, check out Tony’s website where he has before and after photographs of his body, promoting Nutrasystem. He lost 103lbs, although it is hard to tell in this video. He has many performance dates coming up at equally fine establishments.

Oh my God…is their a spot for him as a host of a reality show for recovering reality show contestants? He should clearly be their leader.

    Tsk, tsk…where is the Merlot?

What an insult. I’m not even sure that is Tony or a look-a-like. You all have done this man a grave injustice. He is still very much active and performing to sold out houses all over the country. He just finished a sold out show for 3 nights at the Southpoint Casino in Las Vegas last week end. He has a wonderful band and puts on great shows. I can tell this clip is very old, if it is him, as he is very thin now, having been on a diet the last year and losing 105 pounds. He puts on a fantastic show. We already have tickets to go see him in Branson in Nov. He just got back from performing in the Phillipines. He does not let any grass grow under his feet. He does countless shows for charities, and he is very much part of the popular scene. I am greatly disturbed by your comments, as I know him, and love to go see him.

Branson? The Phillipines? Uh…right Gail, the man is obviously on a career upswing.

BTW: Just checked out his site. My personal favorite upcoming engagement is the following:

    Feb 3-4 ‘09 * * *
    Mesa, AZ RV Parks

Perhaps, Gail, you can break out the old motor home and join Tony for this triumphant musical engagement? Surely the creme de la creme of RV society will be attending – they will be nights to remember! For such a special event, perhaps you might want to splurge and pick yourself out a couple of new frocks at Dress Barn?

At least there’s a certain dignity to performing in Branson. The performers there know their place, and that place is pulling $100 a head to play a real-deal concert hall to a crowd of appreciative fans still willing to pay big money to hear songs written 40 years ago.

Busking at Circus Circus is just the opposite. You’re the guy nobody cares about, singing in the lobby of the most-hated hotel on the Strip. I really hope this isn’t the real Tony Orlando.

I have to admit there is a kind of nostalgic, trailer trashy fun watching this and now I am kind of obsessed with it and watch it a few times a day. I like to go around my apartment banging on things and jumping in the air like the fake Billy Idol in the video. Try it, come on, it is a catchy tune. It works better if you wear polyester.
