   “I think that she is worse than Dick Cheny… and a better shot.”– That’s bloody brilliant. Most surprising to me is that there are “dozens” of gay people in Wasilla. Considering the population, that means that like half the city (nay, village) is gay. Then again, there is all that plaid. If the abuse of power scandal is any indicator, these are all very easy political fixes for Palin. She’ll just clear herself of all charges and be done with it. Gay friends? Really Sarah?

   First of all, you know that there is no way that Sarah Palin has gay friends, because if she did, that hairstyle and those glasses would be gone. I would hate to see what happens if one of her children turns out to be gay. She has that born again look in her eyes, the one where she believes that crap that she loves the sinner but hates the sin, even though it is she who is playing god by deciding what is a sin.

   Oh come on. I’m in the political operations business. This was not only a bad piece of work by the HRC, but transparently condescending to its gay viewership. Half of Wasilla is gay? One of the churches she was associated with sponsored conversion therapy down in Anchorage so, ipso facto, she believes in that too? Maybe she does, but it might have helped if someone from the HRC had bothered to contact the Campaign before putting together this hit piece.

   Good propaganda preaches to the converted without looking like it. This ain’t it. However, it is good for the Direct Mail and online fundraising business, which is what this is all about. See, what you easy marks haven’t figured out yet is that Sarah Palin is going to become a huge star in the GOP chicken dinner circuit after McCain gets his ass kicked by Obama. That means that the HRC is going to use her as a Direct Mail Fundamentalist Fundraising Bogeyman (or, in this case, woman). We used to do the same thing with our people and Ted Kennedy over guns and judges. Works like a charm.

   Trust me. The HRC will be sending you folks scare letters saying that if you don’t send the HRC fifty bucks, Sarah Palin and her Christian Soldiers will come round and put all the Gays and Lesbians into Special Conversion Camps. See if I’m not right. BTW, see if a little plastic “Sustaining Member” card comes with your “Sarah Palin Is Eva Braun” letter. We used those little cards back when Reagan first ran in 1980. People would send in 100 bucks to get those cards.

   Indeed, she will be a big star. All of this “And we’re angry” rhetoric is being level specifically at McCain. After the dust settles, Palin will be seen as the person who suffered the attacks of the “liberal” media, and the only one who really ever espoused the ideology of the base. In some places it’s called martyrdom. Condescending to gays? Sorry, I don’t see it. Preaching to the converted? Certainly. Videos like this are simple therapy for those of us who feel estranged from the political process and impotent in the face of fabrication and stupidity (yes, name calling serves the same purpose). There is something to be said for that, no?

   The gays in Alaska should not be afraid of Palin. Sarah Palin is NOT harmful, because she’s too dumb to be harmful. When you place Sarah and Tina Fey’s popular SNL Sarah Palin impression side by side, it’s hard to tell who the real Sarah Palin is. I watched the vice presidential debate and I thought Ashton Kutcher was punking America. Wait a second, you mean that was actually real?

   Does this really come as a surprise? You cannot be an active member of a Fundamentalist Christian Church and be a friend to gay people. It’s impossible! The Assemblies of God – and I say this having been enrolled in one of their Middle Schools when I was a wee lad – has a mission to make everyone a part of their fold. A white-washed, puritanical society. However, if there are 18000 gays in Alaska out of 600,000 imagine how many more there would be if they were not scared to come out against Sarah Palin!

   Chilling!

   Perhaps more chilling – I learned that Ms. Palin was baptized a Roman Catholic. If rumors are true that Obama converted from Islam to Church of Christ to further his career it is easy to see that her becoming a Fundamentalist is also to further her interests…
