On the film:
C'mon, I'm already gonna vote for Obama, do I really have to go see it? Just kidding, just kidding, I love a Spike Lee joint. I just get bored by war movies. Too much "blam! blam!", not enough "hump! hump!"

On the book:
Major U.S. corporations and political figures supported Nazi Germany? And this is news how? I'd be more surprised to find out that Amy Winehouse is a fucked up druggie. Oh look, a blog!

On the suspension of disbelief:
I think McCain may have written his own campaign a "Dear John" letter this week. We'll see. The rubes might have forgotten all about it by the time the next episode of 'Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader' airs. (here's a hint, rubes: you're not)

I have a sneaking suspicion that Spike Lee's latest feature isn't going to perform as well as expected at the box office this weekend. I'm sure it's a good movie, but just look at polling numbers on the issues. The last thing people care about these days is war. They're burnt out of war and commentary on it. Bring on the movies about banks failing! In this political season it's important to try and capitalize on what the campaigns make hot. That's why I'm kicking myself that I never got around to pitching "Babe 3: Lipstick on a Pig" to a studio.

The content of Wallace's book is disturbing but definitely something important, especially when we have another war with terrible profiteering going on. Too bad the book rights will probably be bought up by Jerry Bruckheimer's production company. We can look forward to a series of clues on the back of each contract between U.S. companies and the Germans in "National Treasure 3: The Search for Nazi Gold."

As for McCain, it's no surprise that a man with skin the texture and complexion of an uncooked Foster Farms product would attempt a game of chicken. Too bad for him Obama called his bluff and ran him off the road, forcing him to try and find a way to attend the debate without looking like a complete idiot. That's supposed to be his Vice President's role.

On Spike's new joint: agreed. Should do well. The cast is good. The story looks good. War movies, though, haven't been faring all that great.

On Wallace: still surprising how surprising it is to most people that so many of these U.S. "leaders" and corporations supported the Nazis, many of them right up till FDR officially declared war on 'em.

On McCain: YES! Excellent call on the old dog coming back for another run in 2012 (when the world's supposed to end, mind). I think it'd be great if the geezer just NEVER gives up and runs till he's a hunnerd. The ideal ticket next time around? McCain/Dole. Yee-haw!
