I was wondering who Princess Sparkle Pony is and how she supposedly knows whether or not the Condi Veep rumor is true and I came across this quote from her or I should say him, because it turns out she is a guy named Peter Huestis who works at the National Gallery of Art. Awhile back when he started to weigh in about the Larry Craig bathroom brouhaha, Huestis told Wonkette.com "“I’m not a journalist. I don’t know my way around a Washington scandal.” Maybe that's why he is so spectacularly wrong about the Condi thing.

It's no great surprise that John McCain chose somebody other than Rice as his running mate in this Presidential Election. What IS surprising is that he chose Sarah Palin-- a woman hardly any more qualified to run a local PTA than she is the United States of America. Rice was a natural non-pick for the McCain campaign in my eyes, as she is too readily associated with the past eight years of political atrocities that most Americans-- Republicans and Democrats-- seem to recognize. In my time as a media consuming American, I am not sure that I've ever heard a positive mention of Condi. Either she slips under the radar as an ineffectual player in a do-nothing-right office, or she's at or near the forefront of the media's criticisms of what is going on in American politics.

Why would McCain want to ally himself with that? Instead, the Mav has chosen to go with Sarah Palin-- a woman so desperately unqualified and clueless that she could be just what this country needs. Think of it with me. McCain passes out of office due to some scandal or a recurring injury he sustained while in his prison camp (he was in a prison camp, you know), and we're left in the hands of Sarah Palin. She would be a young President, so despite being separated from the contiguous 48 states by almost 800 miles and a total disparity in culture, she will undoubtedly have her finger on the pulse in addition to the button. Hey-- at least she knows how to use the internet-- a fact which was recently confirmed when we found out that she'd been using a free Yahoo mail account to send important government emails back and forth. how did we find this out, you ask? Somebody hacked into her account using information that could be obtained in her Wikipedia article. Forgot your password, Ms. Palin? Why, just tell us what high school you went to and we'll send that right out to you. There's a rumor circulating that her password was "12345," which Mel Brooks once pointed out was something that an idiot would use on their luggage. Apparently it's also something an idiot would use to protect party and national correspondence.

Actually, my uncle's wife is a Capitol Hill Republican staffer and she told me almost the same thing as ianundercover reported. Basically, that during the GOP VP search, the buzz was that Condi had risen to near the top of the shortlist, based on what various Senators and Congresspeople were saying privately. Apparently, she was also one of the top choices in the various Capitol Hill office betting pools.

The only part of the story ianundercover or his RNC source might have wrong is saying that her sexuality is the reason Rice was rejected. That was definitely an important factor but there were others as well. At one point, my aunt heard that Condi was actually being vetted, but that is unsubstantiated. On the whole, sounds like Ianundercover did a pretty good job of political reporting.

Statement issued by Peter Dow, Owner, Rice for President Yahoo Group in response to the news that John McCain is suspending his campaign for President.

Rice for President refuses to suspend campaign. Defies McCain lead.

My fellow Condistas,

Rice for President Yahoo Group has been nothing if not consistent these past 4 years.

This group has argued fiercely and with an undying love that the best person to be President of the United States of America is Condoleezza Rice.

When Condi refused to run, despite prompting from many Americans, we never ceased in our campaign, not for one day, not for one minute, never while breath remains in our body and while Condi's health remains excellent as we expect, never will we suspend our campaign.

Therefore we will NOT in any way suspend our campaign for Condoleezza Rice for President just because John McCain decides to suspend his. No way.

If Wall Street wants a way out of its crisis then step one is to rename itself as "Condoleezza Rice Street".

There is no crisis of confidence on any street that calls itself "Condoleezza Rice Street". There is only supreme confidence in our leader Condoleezza Rice.

So, John McCain, you suspend your campaign if you want to. Rice for President Yahoo Group is not suspending ours.

My only hope that if John McCain does not show up to the first presidential debate that someone who supports Condoleezza Rice for President will offer to step in to debate with Senator Obama on behalf of those who wish to Draft Condoleezza Rice to run for President in 2008 if possible now, in 2012 if not.

Owner, Rice for President Yahoo Group

So... are you seriously sticking by this story? Particularly this post is so easily, demonstrably false. You didn't even get the name of the morning show right! Believe me, I would love this story to be true, but your source (who you coyly try to imply is Senor even though it obviously couldn't be) has it all wrong.

I don't think you're headed for any awards for this one, m'boy. Stick to Hollywood.

Having aspirations doesn’t cut it in politics. Sure, having Condoleeza Rice as a VP running mate seems like the most logical thing to do for McCain. However, you have to remember that McCain is as senile as he is Republican. Although it really can’t be said whether or not Rice would make a good VP—or president for that matter—McCains’s desire to portray reform undoubtedly came into play. Not wanting to fall under Dubya’s moniker of “old, rich, dumb, white, possibly racist Republican + Condoleeza Rice,” McCain is opting for a more progressive and unconventional “old, rich, dumb, white, possibly racist Republican + Not Condoleeza Rice.”

If politics has taught anyone anything, especially in the past couple of years, it’s that arguing for or against candidates “fit for term,” is pretty much moot. Condi may or may not be involved in an atypical sleeping arrangement; but it’s irrelevant to McCain’s faltering, Alzheimer induced cognizance.

Maybe IanUndercover has a thing for lesbians. Lohan/Sam post more recently and this before that. Kind of hot man. Kind of hot.

Seriously though, but somehow, Rice's sexuality comes into derailment as opposed to Palin's pregnant teenage daughter. All right then.

The major problem that would have arisen from picking Condi Rice would have been losing some key elements of the Republican base, specifically racists, homophobes and people that hate funny sounding names.

There also might be some lingering awkwardness between Rice and McCain, because if I remember correctly McCain fought for the South during the Civil War. And his campaign bus still has two separate water fountains.

I still don't think Condi's sexuality was the deal-breaker. It's her connection to the Bush White House. McCain can't be the "change" candidate if his VP is in cahoots with Bush. However, if Condi wasn't connected to Bush, she would've been a far better VP candidate than the Baked Alaska Babe, who can't even answer questions from the media.

It looks like the sheer force of Condi's grip is about to send Skeletor McCain tumbling face first to the floor. I'm not sure if this is a testament to the whispy feebleness of the 145 year old presidential nominee, or to the brute strength of the obviously gay (and possibly black) Condoleeza Rice.
